    Kal-Crete Construction
Larry demolished the old driveway and poured in a new one (stamped concrete). Within a couple of weeks, the color stated to fade. Kept calling him to come back and fix it. In the meantime, pieces of it start to chip off and break. It took weeks and many phone calls and texts to get him to come back. Would not return calls, would not show up as promised, several times he said he forgot or was busy. He came back and said he needed to wash it off. That did not make any difference. Again, more phone calls and many weeks later, he showed up and this time he said the problem was because he had not sealed it in the beginning. He also said that because the color was now drastically faded, maybe he should reapply a different color and then seal it. He did not come right away to do this. It took a few months and after many phone calls, he finally showed up to do what he said he wanted to do. Within a week after reapplying new color and sealing, the driveway started peeling off, and this was his third time with this driveway. Phone calls again, he showed up and asked for another chance to fix it with a better seal. We said OK, but he never showed up and never returned phone calls or texts. It had been about 9 months since he first started the job. We filed a complaint with the Contractor Licensing Board which is now in progress.

We've had a lot of bad experiences with contractors both in terms of quality of work and not being responsive. They could not have been better on both fronts. They listened very well when we were getting the original job done. They were responsive when we had issues during the work. They also listened and were responsive and fixed things. They did extra and so many little extras that weren't even in the bid. They noticed that we had little pieces missing from the granite on our barbecue and asked if they could just fix it, at no additional charge. At one point my wife got anxious about if the job was going well. They came out and two of them spent an hour talking to us, showing us what was going on, listening to our concerns and talking about ways to address them.  They were patient. The work was great. Construction can be painful and they made it very pleasant.

The project could not have gone any better. Ken Drake and the entire RJG Team went above and beyond in every way. I had previously met with several other foundation repair companies prior to meeting with Ken Drake. After meeting with Ken and reviewing his proposal, it was clear that RJG is truly the best company in foundation repair. Ken thoroughly read our entire 50+ page soils report the day before we met. He proposed two options for remediation of our foundation/settling issues, and reviewed the pros and cons of each. Ken also discussed the two options with the Geo-technical engineering firm that did our soils report. By the way, Ken knows all of the local engineers (Geo-technical, structural, etc), and they know and respect him. We decided to underpin the house with a continuous footing that is 4 feet deep and 18 inches thick. The plan originally called for sacrificial jacks to be installed, but the foreman Richard felt that helical piers would be safer for the crew. As a result, helical piers were used and left in place before the new footing was poured. There was no additional cost, and we ended up with the best possible foundation. The entire project took about 2 months. I have a deep appreciation for the expertise and amount of work that went into this project. Richard and the crew were highly competent, polite, and professional. RJG has been one of the best contractors I have worked with, and I highly recommend them.

    Elite Remodeling & Development Inc

The work started in December and was done in stages as we decided what we wanted - which was not clear at the beginning.  Daniel and Mike were patient, persistent and helpful - doing the work in distinct parts.   Finally telling me in January that the next vision for the yard was not a project they should do and explaining why.

The first step was fixing/creating drainage for a number of roof and deck drains that disappeared into the ground (and backed up when it rained!).  Unfortunately we discovered significant tree roots, so we made a complete new line to the street.   A heavy rain delayed that part of the project, but (at least) most of the rain went into the new trench and did not back up on the patio anymore.  Alex (with his leveling device) carefully ensured the drop in the new pipes from the back yard to the street was appropriate and consistent.

Jose lead the patio paving team which flew around the pool until all was done, which included demolition, new drainage lines under the new pavers,  the pavers,  and relocating some sprinklers.  At points, we noticed issues, but each was addressed until we were satisfied.

While looking at the paver project, we decided to stucco an existing wall and extend it with a similar brick topping.  As the paver work was finishing, the extension was begun.  Matching the bricks on top of the existing wall was challenging (colors!), but Elite kept trying to ensure we had colors we liked until we did.

Our yard had pipes underground in unexpected places, but the resulting breaks were quickly fixed.

Our improved yard is not perfect yet, perhaps it never will be, but it is vastly improved by the work done and we are pleased.

Green Works Construction & Design Inc
Mike, Green Works owner, has terrific ideas with reasonable pricing.  He is honest and helpful and does not hide fees.  His foreman, Shlomi is knowledgeable, personable, trustworthy and knows how to get the job done.  The people who work for Green Works are excellent craftsmen/women, and completely trustworthy.  They always treated my home and family with respect and kindness.  The outdated home I used to own is now completely up to date and magazine worthy!  I would contract Green Works Construction again and recommend them without reservation.

    24 Kt Green

We'd been in our home 25 years and done very little exterior home improvement during that time. We decided we'd reach a point where we wanted to give our home an overhaul to fully enjoy it since our children are now grown.

We met with several contractors but knew we'd met our landscaper in Tom Hollow of 24Kt Green. His relaxed and open demeanor put us immediately at ease. He is exceedingly knowledgeable about his field and clearly has a great deal of passion for his work -which is what convinced us to trust him to transform our yard.

Tom followed up with us a week after that first meeting with detailed plans for our front and back yards based on what we'd told him we wanted and how much we wished to spend.. His proposal came in close to our budget and included everything we'd asked for and more. He gave us a timeline and estimated a 6-week project from start to finish.

From there, we literally saw our exterior change from rundown 70s ranch house to contemporary star-of-our-block in six short weeks! Tom's crew showed up every day and worked hard. From demo to drainage installation, cement pouring & stamping, planting beds, ground cover, patio cover, new driveway, stone walkway, outdoor lighting, and scene-stealing, spectacular rock waterfall...  Everything was designed and completed with utmost care and professionalism. Tom was on-site daily, checking in on progress and to answer questions and offer advice. He also met with us off-site several times to assist us in choosing natural stone for our front walkway as well as ledgestone for our front-yard planters and pillars.

The results??? Well, we are experiencing something for the first time as home-owners and that is having neighbors who walk past our house and stop to compliment how beautiful it looks. We find ourselves doing lots of double-takes too; we still can't believe how great our home looks. We love hearing the water in our waterfall during the day and enjoying a glass of wine around  the firepit at night. Thanks to Tom, our home makes a great impression in the front and provides a functional and beautiful backdrop for entertaining and enjoyment in back.

Yes, this was a big investment - but well worth every penny we spent!

One last but not insignificant point is that we have a room in our garage that most people don't realize is there from outside the house.  There were many times that we were in that room and could hear Tom talking to his crew - yet he didn't know we could hear him. We were impressed, time and again, by the respectful and patient way he interacted with his employees. We believe how people treat others when no one is looking/listening is a true sign of character, and for that reason we believe Tom's is stellar. It gave us great confidence in his integrity as a person and a professional.  We feel fortunate to have worked with him and to give him our unqualified recommendation to anyone looking for landscape work.

    Mike Power Concrete
We had a serious drainage problem in an existing large gazebo. The existing drain was beyond repair and digging it up would have required a much more expensive solution. Mike suggested a large French drain in place of the existing drain opening and installed one that was 18" square and 4 feet deep, then closed with a 12" surface drain cover. Work was neat and the surface concrete is an excellent match for the existing surface.

    Concrete Renewals Inc

These guys did an awesome job including ensuring that I was fully satisfied after the job was completed.  On his vacation, Kevin arranged for a second sealer coat by having his assistant source the material at a location 75 miles away from my home.  Not only did they make a special trip for the material, but they applied it the same day.
