  • We hired Butel for a major renovation of our home, including a complete kitchen remodel, two bathroom remodels, new floors, and a new deck. We looked at 3 other contractors and felt that estimate provided by Butel was the most detailed and professional. Shai, the owner, is an extremely honest person who charges fair prices. They are not the cheapest, but they are also not the most expensive. At your first meeting, Tom will come and do a detailed review of the work you want performed. At this meeting, Tom had the great idea of completely moving the location of the master bath and closet to more efficiently use the space in our master bedroom. The other contractors did not make this suggestion and we greatly appreciated Tom's input and ideas. After the contract is signed, Shai takes over. Shai oversees the projects overall, but day-to-day, we had a project manager, Miguel, on site. Both Shai and Miguel are extremely responsive and professional. Shai went to the site almost daily during the most critical phase of the project. We worked closely for over 6 months. As with all construction projects, unexpected issues will come up and things will get delayed and it is often stressful. Shai and his team did their best to complete the job on time and resolve problems as they arose. If something new needed to be added to the job, we always received a new detailed addition to the contract. As for the subcontactors used by Shai, some are better than others. Angel, the tile guy, is extremely detailed oriented and did a wonderful job tiling our kitchen, fireplace, and bathrooms. The people who installed our floors also did a great job. The painters were not good. We had to have them come back multiple times to do touch ups and I am still unhappy with some of it, as there are many uneven spots and the paint is cracking in some places. One other minor complaint is that once 90-95% of the job is finished, it is sometimes difficult to get the small details and handyman-type issues fixed. After 9 months of living here, we have small issues like towel rack is now falling off the wall. Those are some of the small details that can be improved, but we are extremely happy overall with the quality of the work. We have recommended Butel to our friends and family and We have plans in 2017 to have Butel renovation our garage.

  • I am a property manager and have used Heating Alternatives / Kenneth for a number of jobs now and he is nothing less than excellent. We first used him because he was the only vendor in his field willing to work on a couple of old floor heaters from the 1950's. He was prompt, knowledgeable, thorough, fair-priced, and extremely trustworthy. Because of that, we have started using him for all of our HVAC needs and have yet to find something that Kenneth cannot fix. He has a lot of experience and a great breadth of operational knowledge.    I know that when we call Kenneth for a job it will be done the correct way. That kind of confidence in a vendor is invaluable. I highly recommend using him.

  • Prior to John Marsh's effort, we had two other estimates.  The first said we had to rebuild the fire box at a cost of $3200.  The second said that we not only have to do that but also rebuild the chimney which had been rebuilt after the 1994 earthquake.  Neither of these contractors made the effort to remove the top spark arrester which was the only way to observe the secondary arrestor which turned out to be the source of the drafting problem.  We are so pleased that John Marsh did such a thorough inspection which then led to a very low cost repair.  Although John spent over an hour here and got several blisters from cutting the heavy wire in the secondary arrestor,  he would only charge us for a normal inspection.  Its now easy to understand why this company gets a 100% A rating on Angies List.

  • After inspections and sweeps from 3 other companies, I asked for someone to come out to look into having a chimney liner and damper installed. Imagine my disappointment when I was told that the chimney was not built to code and that it would need to be torn down and rebuilt! The home was built in the early 1920s so I can't see how the original builders could have foreseen that they would need to build everything to meet code in 2014.
What's worse is that there are several cost-effective solutions OTHER THAN A COMPLETE REBUILD to safely bring the chimney back into safe working order. Out of all the different companies that I had come out to bid I have to say this was the worst fishing expedition I had to experience. To say that if not the company, then at least the person who came out, is counting on a homeowner not knowing the difference between grandfathered construction standards and modern code, or even of doing their homework beforehand is egregious as I had expected better based on the reviews here as well as other recommendations.

  • Provider wasn't able to perform service because it requires dragging steaming hot tubing across the floors of the house, which they said could damage my hardwood floors. This information would have been more helpful when I scheduled the appointment and not when someone is already at my door.

  • As amazing it might sound to people who endured major renovations
it went on time & on budget!!
They were working 6 days a week for 10 weeks.[some Sundays when needed]
All crews of subs were supervised very closely & very carefully by Mr Zimmerman who was there almost all the time, especially when critical work was done.
He is very knowledgeable of all facets of contracting [Scheduling, plumbing, electrical, masonry carpentry, paint, refinishing +]
All issues were resolved immediately, without delays.
All extra work was priced very fairly.
Mr. Zimmerman came highly recommended to me by a friend,-and he lived up to all expectations
The job was done efficiently, professionally to the highest standard of the profession.

  • It was good. They were very professional. They did it in two parts and found a few issues; which we had to fix or not use. They use a camera to take a look at inside the chimney, which was cool.

Don't give email because they do a lot of specials.

  • Overall, we were very pleased with the workmanship, professionalism, speed and honesty we received from Moshe and Precise Home Builders.  I would highly recommend Moshe and Precise.  Moshe is a businessman and also a General Contractor.  You could tell he knew what he was talking about when he made his pitch.  I thought his presentation was excellent and his 3D rendered drawing of the kitchen sold us on the job.

His foreman Gabi was excellent and very polite and forthcoming with information.  The overall quality was excellent of the job.  The Kitchen and Wood Floors were the best.  The floors came out brilliant and the kitchen was beautiful.   They volunteered a bunch of extras when we needed it.  On a couple of occasions, we asked for something and needed to pay the difference.

During this job, there were several hiccups, but Precise corrected any issue that came up immediately.  Even several months after the completion of the project, on two separate occasions, they came back to correct a couple minor problems that came up at no extra charge.  They were at the house fixing the problem within a day or two of calling them on the problem.

One of the biggest things I really appreciated from Precise is that they allowed me to work without disturbing me.  I have a very busy schedule and they were able to accommodate my schedule and meet with me during my times off.  Sometimes, this would be in the morning before work and sometimes in the evening.  Another thing was they were able to complete the project ahead of schedule.  They had originally estimated around 8 weeks, but they completed the project in about 6 weeks.

A few of suggestions to the potential client:
    1. Make sure you know (have a general idea) of you want to do in your project before you meet with Moshe.  Or, if not before, within few days after you meet with him. Moshe will meet with you several times before they present their offer.  Write down a list of all the items you need or think you need and make sure it is on Precise?s bullet list of items before you start the project.  You may consider having someone else look at the list that has had previous construction work done.    Moshe will try to come up with a list of everything he thinks you need for your project, but it is up to you to add things that may have been left off or remove things you don?t want.  If not, this could result in a change order later on.  If you sign, you will have a few days to go over the list and add/remove items on their list.
    1. They move real fast, so be prepared to make a lot of the payments real fast.  In the first two weeks of the project, we had to make approximately 60% of the payments.
    1. Also, make sure you make all your selections (additional purchases/orders) shortly after you sign.  Order everything you need from your end within the first few days of the project.  Some large appliance may need to be special ordered and could take 2-3 weeks.  This also includes doors, and other things too.  You will need to move fast too to keep up with Precise.

  • Edgar Rios was awesome and professional and his attention to details were superb, not to mention patience. I changed my mind mid way from a pre-fab to a semi pre-fab firebox with actual bricks and mortar. Well worth the extra cost. The only slow thing was waiting on the inspector. But it's done, it's fabulous and it's permitted. Well worth the money.

  • Shame is professional, informative and knowlegable in his field. I won't use anyone else for chimney inspections. If you need a detailed report this is the guy! He is/was worth the amount. I tried another company and was highly disappointed in his report thus hiring Shane. We got exactly what I was expecting, a detailed professional easy reading report!
