    Knotty Nuff Wood, LLC
I was looking for someone to come and build a desk for my son and I. I came across Knotty Nuff Wood and Ryan. I'm always skeptical, as I'm sure most of us are, of online reviews and hiring strangers to come into our homes to perform any sort of work. I spoke to several different people in my search to find the right one to build our custom desk. After speaking with Ryan, he offered to come to the house, meet and discuss designs and costs. As a single, working father who is also "design challenged" Ryan not only made me comfortable with hiring him but equally he designed what he thought would be the perfect desk for my 7-year-old and myself all on his own. He ran the ideas by us, he incorporated my son into the process and blew us away. My son, who only asked Ryan for "fun" as part of the design, which clearly was super helpful and a lot for Ryan to work with, has been super excited working at his new desk. Ryan incorporated blue lapis (it's a Minecraft thing) inlays and centerpiece into my son's side of the desk along with a crystal display cabinet for my son's growing collection. Furthermore, he spent the time building removable pieces of color matched wood for under his side of the desk, as research shows working with your feet on the ground (again, my son is 7 and can't reach the ground from a normal sized desk chair), so that as he grows up, I remove one plank at a time to fit his growing legs. Like I started with, having strangers in your home is always worrying but Ryan and his dad Tom were not only amazing to have around, but joined us for lunch and laughed with us which was awesome! It would be one thing to write this review in hopes you all read it and hire Ryan for your own projects, but another for me to take it a step further... I hired Ryan to build a desk for my son and I, but I was so impressed with him as a person and the amazing quality of his work that he's already done a second home office in my house, redid our guest room with a beautiful murphy bed hidden inside of beautiful cabinetry, along with a maker studio where he hid our home printer, 3d printer, and laser cutter. That way the room is clean, zero wires and there is no technology you can see, but open up the cabinets, or underneath the bench in front of the bay window. As a testament to the quality of Ryan's work and who he is as a person, all of a sudden, my son is into building stuff out of wood. Having just completed his first project which is a jellybean dispenser and he's now onto building a birdhouse. Ryan is nothing short of amazing, I can't say enough about him, the quality of his process and the ultimate satisfaction of the new furniture he built and designed for us. There is nothing I can say more than I can't wait to buy a new home to work with him again, and I will ALWAYS recommend him with confidence! Thank you so much Ryan!!!

Very well. It is an inherently stressful process, however the contractor was there to provide guidance and offer opinions when warranted. She was highly reliable and trustworthy and provided "hand holding" throughout. Her work was excellent and the place looks great now. The guidance she provided in choosing tiles, flooring, back splash, fixtures, and all the elements of this project was highly professional. The place looks great now.

    Rene Guzman Studio
As mentioned above, Rene delivered ahead of schedule and exceeded our expectation in terms of quality and workmanship.  We couldn't be happier.  As a result, we are looking at other project for Rene to complete for us!

Santana Piano Movers should be the only movers you consider if you love your piano and/or it's priceless.  I needed someone to move my 1927 Steinway Model M Player Grand Piano (a couple of tons) on short notice.  While their quote was the highest, I shudder to think what would have happened had I gone with someone cheaper.  We'd scheduled a move about four days in advance but the auction house I'd purchased it from said I needed to move the piano earlier.  So Santana made time for me the next morning, which must have been difficult given their busy schedules.
When they arrived at the pickup location, they spent real, quality time inspecting and sizing up the piano (also letting me know where small things could be fixed / improved later - it being an old piano).  I was in good hands from the beginning.
On the destination, I live in a canyon and the stairs going up to the front door are so steep that they'd violate code if we had to rebuild.  Not to mention there's a narrow original archway leading into the staircase.  Because I'd asked for them to move the piano "today or tomorrow", they were only able to see the piano's route by pictures I emailed instead of sending out their usual inspector.  To see what the Santana team did to get my piano through the arch and up those stairs was a work of art in itself.  Expertly taking off different pieces, considering all of the alternatives, and finally getting the piano down to the right size to fit.  Each adjustment was with the utmost care and knowledge.  And then came the staircase.  It's what I imagine the building of the pyramids was like, with its combination of strength, skill, and knowledge.  To see a couple of tons moving up a narrow staircase (manually without a dolly or even a straight wood platform) and feel at ease that the piano (and my house) were safe and sound made the decision to go with Santana not only the right one but the only possible one.
I can't recommend them highly enough.

This company was professional and great to work with.  I went to their offices to look at fabrics, and took about 10 large fabric swatches home to see how they'd look in place.  Apparently they will send you swatches even without coming to the office, but I liked looking over their large selection of fabrics in person.  I then called to let them know my fabric choice (a blue velvet) and scheduled an appointment for them to come and measure/cut the fabric on the couches.  It took a few days to schedule because they had to wait for the fabric to come in, but the measuring and cutting process was easy -- the man who came was very detailed and it took quite a while, but the process didn't require my attention.  He then brought the cut/pinned fabric back to the factory and they sewed it into slipcovers.
They predict that it will take 2-3 weeks to do the sewing, and it definitely was closer to 3 than 2.  They weren't able to expedite the process when I called partway through the waiting period, but did offer the option of my picking up the slipcovers early rather than having them come out to install them.  I opted to wait, and I'm glad I did--I really appreciated watching the installation, which was a relatively quick and easy 15-minute process of putting the slipcovers on to the couches; now I'll be able to do it myself when it comes time to wash them.
The resulting slipcovers have completely rejuvenated my living room and are machine washable.

Everything  went perfectly. All appointments were on time. We dealt with Bobby in all aspects of the work. He came to the house to look at what we needed done , and brought out fabric samples for us to look at. He recommended  the type of  fabric  we should use and gave us a rough estimate of cost. When we picked out the fabric for the sofas he gave us a better estimate of their cost and scheduled a pickup of the sofas and ottoman. He picked them up as scheduled and gave us a completion date. While he had the sofas , we went to his shop to pick out fabric for the chairs. There he had walls of fabric books with thousands  of samples. We took number of books home to choose from. Bobby delivered our sofas, and picked up the chairs. With the sofas in place we tried all our fabric choices with them , and picked out  the fabric. Called Bobby with our choice. He ordered the fabric and finished the job.

Very professional, prompt, and helpful, I would highly recommend  them.

This was my first Angie's List experience and it was perfect.  I couldn't have been happier with Jose Garcia and the way he professionally took care of the job.  I was worried about money, my budget was tight, and I think he was fair.  The fabrics he brought showed that he had worked on high-end jobs and he knew fine quality.  He took pride in his work and delivered chairs that look beautiful and expensive.  I'm happy and have referred others to him already.

    PJs Sleep Company
I ordered a mattress from PJ's -- the third one I've purchased from them -- and the supplier, Simmons, screwed up the delivery. But PJ's totally took care of me. They were in constant communication with me and were genuinely concerned with treating me, a customer, well.  They got Simmons to agree to give me a rebate on the mattress, and then, when Simmons failed on another delivery date, PJ's gave me a more expensive mattress for the price we'd paid for the Simmons mattress.  I was very impressed with Ivy the owner and all the employees who really tried to make sure that I was a satisfied customer. Which I was and am.  The upgraded mattress they delivered has been the most comfortable mattress we've ever slept on.
I recommend this store very highly. It's the only mattress store where the salespeople don't pressure you and actually tell you the truth.
This was my third time buying a mattress from them, and you can be sure my next mattress purchase will be from them as well.

I hired PJ to build a narrow cabinet for my newly redesigned master bath. He said it would be completed within the month. After a few weeks I called for a status report and to discuss the finish. He said it would be another few weeks. Then he stopped returning my texts and phone calls. He had worked with my project manager in the past, so he came highly recommended. He also knew we had been left in the lurch by a previous carpenter who took our $650. and disappeared months before. He did the same thing! PJ has disappeared. Note, we pursued the original carpenter legally and have just been repaid $400, with the balance due Saturday.

Our experience was good. It was a little expensive though, but it was good. We were happy with it. It is just a little pricey. I would use them again actually but probably negotiate the price down. I tried to, but he would not budge. It was probably $800 high, but it was okay. We were still happy with the product though.
