    Dne appliance repair
    Without going into all the details, my advice is do not use this company. I picked them as they were on Angie's list and got fairly good reviews. Rather than setting up an appointment, the technician just showed up. I thought he was from the company I had scheduled an appointment with. Not so. Couldn't figure out what was wrong with the dryer. I paid him $55 and said goodbye. Found out later he was NOT from the company I had scheduled with. Total rip off. When I realized I had not made an appointment with DNE, I called and asked for my money back. No way was he going to honor my request. He said Angie's List doesn't allow him to refund...not even to seniors. Not sure I will use Angie's List again as I wonder if they are paid by the technicians to publish good reviews. Something fishy here.

    Could have told me in one sentence that I was overloading the machine when I scheduled. I'm pretty sure that my description of the problem was enough for a probable diagnosis. Or when the tech got the order, he could have called with an "It's worth a try" suggestion. Would have saved me the $40 service call fee, and they would have ensured that I'll call them next time. The actual visit was fine, and unnecessary. I won't remove a star over this, but I could.

    They came to look at a problem with my dryer and charged $100 simply to show up. Turned out the problem went away by the time they arrived, so they gave me a credit for $100, in writing, for my next service call. When I called the person who answered the business line told me it had been too long (5 months) so they wouldn't honor it. When i protested very loudly he said he'd talk to the guy who came to the house. He then said OK, he'd honor it. When the next service guy came he asked to be paid and I asked if he knew about the credit i had. He didn't so he called the guy who on the business line who once again refused to honor the credit! I ended up paying the service man just to leave but promised the guy in the office i would write a review. Needless to say i would NOT EVER go near this company again.

    Oscar's Washer & Dryer Repair
    Oscar returned my call right away on a Friday afternoon and made an appointment for first thing Monday morning. He was exactly on time. I was worried because my washing machine was smoking a bit after a heavy load and I was nervous about using it again. The first repairman I called wouldn't even come out and told me I needed a new machine. Oscar wanted to check it out. He was very thorough, spent time going over the machine and ran cycles to watch what happened and make sure there was no imminent danger of fire. Afterwards he assured me that the machine was safe to use and gave me a few tips on it's upkeep and load weights. His price was very fair and well worth having someone knowledgeable like Oscar assure me that everything was in good working order. I followed his advice and haven't had a problem since. I would recommend Oscar without hesitation.

    American Home Shield ��� Home Warranty
    Contracted technician came out 3 weeks ago to check on a few appliance malfunctions and told me i would hear from American Home Shield within a few days. I have still not heard anything. Today, after being on hold for 35 minutes, i was told by AHS that they never heard back from the technician. They would reach out to them, but i would have to call back again in the next day or 2 to find out the status. Whys should i have to call again and wait on hold forever just to find out what's going on? Isn't that the company's responsibility? When i politely expressed my frustration, the customer service rep hung up on me! People have such nerve - there is no concept of customer service here and complete incompetence. I am still waiting for this to be resolved.

    Around The Clock Appliance Repair
    The technician arrived on the early side of the window and was pleasant and quick. Unfortunately, when quoting the price of $225 to repair my washer, he told me about half of that was for the part, and half was labor. When I called my local parts store and found out that the part only costs $40, I knew I was dealing with a shady company. Yes, I understand they need to mark up to make money. But over a 100% markup? That's ridiculous. I would rather have had him told me that the labor was so expensive, but he told me that a $40 part costs $112.50. That's straight up lying. When I called to complain, I got a big lecture on how business make money. Apparently, this business makes money by marking up goods and services by 100%. This was my first time using Angie's list, and I had hoped it would yield reputable companies to work with. I was clearly wrong, and tremendously disappointed.

    Goodman Heating & Cooling & Appliance Repair
    A power outage knocked out our heater, which did not come back on when power resumed. Barry came right out and got it restarted. The job did not need any new parts, so he only charged me a minimal amount for the visit, and even showed me how to restart it myself if it happened in the future. Will definitely be calling him in the future for heater / AC related issues. Very quick and professional.

    I have an Angel named Michael! A disagreement over a dishwasher repair had me prepared for a bloody battle when I called it in. Instead , Michael, a gentleman, listened patiently and in minutes he entirely resolved my problem. Now I have a dishwasher that works ... plus I have an Angel who assured me I could call whenever I needed a repair. Almost hoping to test Michael���s powers again!

    LA FixIt Appliance Repair Service
    They fixed it, but failed to call me with the estimate while they were on site, as they had specifically promised they would. Then they gave the tenant the bill and charged my credit card without ever contacting me in any way at all. Somehow my card was charged for 6 dollars more than the estimate the tenant was handed. Not sure what the discrepancy might have been. Not going to try them again.

    They are extremely convenient because they have an online website where you can put in a service request and for me I am on the phone and running around doing different things. So if I can jump online and jot it down really quick and send it. It is really great. They offer that and it is really convenient. Their guys come right out and every time they come out there has not been a problem they could not solve.
