    MB FENCE CO
Omar was very responsive and did a great job replacing our aging fence, The workers arrived at the time promised and Omar was always available if we needed him. We still have one area of fencing the needs to be replaced and MB Fence will be our first call company!

    MC Construction And Design
We have done several remodels before including a $300K full house remodel back in 2015 that took 3 month and involved a Civil Engineer. So we are pretty experienced in dealing with contractors. Now, this is not the horror story where contractor takes your money and disappears. To be fair, MC Construction is a legitimate business. They will get the work done, eventually. But this process, oh man, I don't know where to even begin. Let's just say that my perfectionist Virgo husband used to have pretty severe OCD. This remodeling project cured him. All jokes aside, I rarely write bad reviews, but these people are reaching our limit of patience. I highly doubt how they got so many 5 star reviews. This is a $125K project. We signed the contract on 5/17/2018 and left plenty of time for it to be finished by 7/31 (At one time, they thought it'll be done by 7/10). Since I'm pregnant and due in Sept, they promised me everything will be done by 7/31 with 5 exclamation marks at the end. Now it's already 8/24 and we are still going through this trial and tribulation, living in a rental (3+ months now) with no end in sight. The project manager's name is Ron. To get the job, he would paint such a wonderful picture of how smoothly the project will go with him in charge. Oh how were we treated to surprises after surprises. Promise 1: All the workers working on our house will be the company's own crew. Promise 2: They will treat our house with the outmost respect. Everything will be protected. When their worker leaves by day's end, everything will be cleaned up Promise 3: The worker will come every day at 8 am and leave at 5 pm during week days until the project is finished. Promise 4: They will produce the highest quality of work. Ron claims that he is extremely detailed and that even my husband cannot be more detailed than him. What we got: 1. He subcontracted everything out: the painter, plumber, electrician, and carpenter. Most of them have barely worked with MC construction. Our project is either the first time that they used this carpenter 2. No dumpster was rented for construction waste. Our garage and driveway were their dumpster. We got repeated warning from our HoA. I kept telling them to remove the trash but nothing happened! My washer and dryer stored in the garage are now severely scratched and damaged. Someone even stepped on the dryer when using it as a ladder, leaving a huge dent. 3. At the beginning, we trusted Ron and didn't follow the progress closely. In July, we got worried and started to check the house 2-3 times a week. To our surprise, no one was there most of the week! I called Ron every day to try to get the updates. He always promises everything will be on track and then do NOTHING. There are 3 weeks with NO ONE working because of the ridiculous reason that they are waiting for the baseboard?!! Until we had a very uncomfortable conversation with Ron at end of July, things started to move a little faster. Maybe 2-3 days a week, you will get a full crew. The house is still not in livable condition. Lots of stuff missing and damaged! Toilet not installed. Today (8/24) the inspector came, and Ron is not there. My husband met the inspector and learned to our horror that we might not pass electrical inspection! 4. The job is SLOPPY. Everything had to be constantly adjusted. The paint on the barn door are full of bubbles and drips. They installed a prefab floating vanity crooked. One side is higher than the other by almost 1 inch! Ron first tells me that it is leveled. When we insisted, his guy adjusted only the backsplash to be level. Then it became even more obvious with a ~1" gap between the backsplash and the countertop on one side and no gap on the other. He just filled the gap with cement and tells us that there is nothing more he can do. After a long argument, he finally agreed to adjust the vanity. Any responsible contractor seeing such big screw-up and will automatically fix it. With Ron, we had to fight and argue With Ron, it is a combination of inexperience and EXTREME irresponsibility. To give an example, our rangerhood is installed crooked. Ron told us on 8/21 that we have to wait 6 days to get it fixed because the handyman who did the job is on vacation and he already paid him. Wow! With 21 days over a 2 month project, any responsible contractor's first priority would be to finish the work. No one is monitoring the project. Ron would come at most 2 days/wk. And stay perhaps 2 hrs. Whenever we see him, he's either on the phone or working on his computer. No one is checking the works. The subcontractors are just managing themselves. Things go missing all the time. The plumber couldn't install the wall-hung toilet because of missing parts. He had to look everywhere and found them in the trash can! Now, my husband don't go to work anymore. Instead, he goes to the house everyday to manage the workers and hope they can get it done ASAP.

    Patrick Hennessey Masonry
Very well. Mr. Hennessy arrived early, began work immediately and finished ahead of schedule. His work was professional and he cleaned up before leaving. The replaced damaged blocks matched the old wall.

    Advance Aluminum Awning Co
There was a miscommunication between the sales guy and the workers, but we got that little hiccup cleared up right away. Other than that, they did good work and cleaned up the place afterwards. I did have to go out there afterwards and re-clean because they cleaned like guys do. But as for the finished product, I cannot complain at all.

They were very good.  James Lee was knowledgeable and honest.  They worked hard and finished everything on time. His foreman was a little annoying because he seemed very scared of lawsuits or something.  Kept saying this is not covered or not guaranteed.  But other than that, great company, would use again.

It went very well. They were punctual. They cleaned up well after themselves. They were polite. They did a very good job of painting. They were very thorough about covering areas not to be painted with plastic sheeting and tape. They matched the color well with the existing color, which is what I had asked them to do. They power-washed the lower part of the stucco on that side of the house at my request and at no additional charge. I was impressed that the lead painter, Johnny, told me that on the top of the patio cover, which has the most exposure to the sun and the rain, he spray painted a coat in one direction, then later spray painted a coat in a different direction, then applied a third coat with a roller. They completed it all in two days. The only negative things I can say is that there was a slight language barrier, which might bother some people, but did not bother me and the cost, which was exactly as estimated, was significantly higher than the other estimate I had received.

    System 1 Acoustic Ceiling Removal
The acoustical ceiling removal crew did an excellent job. They started on time, and completed the task as projected. The painting crew also stared on time and finished as they had anticipated. Painting was  very nicely done. No problems were encountered.

    Fix and Build Construction
My front and back yards are the envy of the neighborhood.  Brett and his crew did a great job! The entire project took about 3 months. First, Brett created a design for the front and back using our preferences for cement, rock, plants, etc. They took out everything out in the front and back yard down to the dirt.  Brett took care of all the permits needed and we were able to problem solve any concerns that came up along the way. I would highly recommend Brett for any job and would love to use him when we re-do our kitchen.

    Detail Painting Inc
Overall I am disappointed.  Before the work began I was excited because I believed I got a fair price for the job.  The individual that gave me the quote expressed with confidence that the job will come out ok.  The two workers arrived on Monday right on time at 8am to begin the power wash and covering of windows etc.  However, without my knowledge I come outside at 12:30 and they are gone for the afternoon.  I didn't say anything because I wanted to give them an opportunity to redeem themselves.  That was not a smart move.  The next two days, without really wanting too, I was coming outside more frequently and because of my nice demeanor the workers thought everything was just fine.  Very very little sanding done prior to paint and a lazy job of covering areas that were not supposed to get hit with overspray.  Then comes Friday, it is raining so no paint.  This is completely understood however, the workers are now a day behind on their next scheduled job and unless they finish on Saturday they risk losing the  future work to another part of their team.  This is where they began to get sloppy, rush, and continue to pull me out the house to check their work and see if they are done.  I got irritated and showed them where they are not close to being done, where my concerns were, and that they won't get a final check until THEY inspect their work, then the foreman inspects their work, and then call me for a final walk thru.  I contacted the foreman for the project on Monday and informed him he needed to come prior to the painters so I could show him my concerns for the last time.  After his resistance, he agrees to come prior to the painters.  I told him I don't want to be bothered again until the whole job is done and he needs to inspect the work before I come out for the final walk.  I have other things to do.  I attempted to begin showing him my areas of concern by getting a ladder and beginning on the roof and working our way down.  He laughed and told me, and I quote, "DONT CONCERN YOURSELF WITH AREAS YOU CANNOT SEE".  He looked at me with a straight face and I was shocked.  For a paint contractor to make a statement like that is mind boggling!  I was done.  I told him bottom line, no check will be issued until everything is satisfactory.  I also showed him an invoice for the garage door opener that broke because the painter painted the garage in areas that sealed the garage shut and when I attempted to open the garage it busted one of the pieces of sheet metal and required a service call for a reset.  They finally finished everything today and I wrote the final check minus the cost of the garage repair.  My biggest disappointment is that I felt the need to come outside and supervise after the first day pulling me from my responsibilities and when I addressed all my concerns to the foreman he seemed to start taking the approach as if the English I was speaking started to become difficult for him to understand.  This was not a positive experience for a job that cost over four thousand dollars.  I cannot recommend them, I am sorry.
