Overall the experience was very pleasant. David is totally professional at all times. His services are extremely reliable and he is responsive. He is patient with explaining things to the customer which I appreciate. I would definitely hire him again he has been my contractor for over 20 years and I will continue to recommend him to everyone.

    A-1 Chimney Sweep
I am unable to get up on my roof to inspect the work, had someone go on my roof to give a visual inspection.  That person advised me that the flu device did not fit properly with the chimney itself.  The device did not conform to the shape of the chimney itself.  During a recent windstorm device was blown off.  Trying to contact him recently to get my money back for this device as it does not fit.  Tried to reach via email and has not responded back.

I called for a foundation inspection and to have some cracks repaired in my house.  One guy came out, crawled under my house and seemed to do a thorough inspection including pictures of what he determined were  faulty repairs from the previous contractor.  After about two weeks, I finally get a written report indicating that the foundation expert was going to look at the pictures and get back to me.  Fast forward a few more weeks.  I contact try contacting the guy who did the initial inspection only to find out he is no longer with the company.  I contact the foundation guy and he makes an appointment to come and do a re-inspection.  Although he did come, he clearly was not comfortable coming to my neighborhood because it was during the time of the Michael Brown/Ferguson unrest and he did not want to be anywhere near Leimert Park.  This was in November 2014 and in December I emailed him to see what his estimate was.  He emailed me back, said he thought he had sent me a report, apologized and I never heard from him again.  He did however mention that he did not think this was something that I could present to my insurance company.  Maybe that is why he never got back to me besides the fact that he did not want to be in the Crenshaw/Leimert area. Needless to say, I am looking for someone else at this point and I will be sending this same scenario to Angie's List.

We just finished having Armscraft Construction do work at our home. I?m very happy with the job they did. To begin, we had a fireplace that was bricked up many years ago?probably due to an earthquake concern. My wife wanted to enjoy the warmth of the fireplace?as did I?and so the Armscraft crew opened up the fireplace and made it operational and safe.

We also had a lot of work done in our family room. We had a wall removed and in its place we had a few windows installed. Now we can better enjoy our backyard and we have much better access to it thanks to a sliding door that was installed.

We also had some plumbing work done. We had all new pipes installed?I think they?re called PEX pipes if I remember correctly. We had old copper pipes as typical old homes do. The pile of old copper piping was temporarily placed in our side yard [we had it recycled of course] and let me tell ya? there was a whole lot of pipe laying there.

Our bathroom was redone as well?new tiling as well as a new shower stall, fittings, bathroom mirrors, and new sinks & toilets throughout the home. There was also some tile installed on the wall in the bathroom and I?m very
happy with the job that was performed.

Some work was also done in the garage attached to the house. A new sink out there, a work area for me and my son to work at, a sink installed a better drainage system and also better lighting.

And finally [I don?t think I?m forgetting anything but I probably have!] we had a tankless water heater installed as well as some new kitchen appliances?dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave? etc.

I?m ecstatic with the work that was done on our home. The workers were very nice to deal with. They were respectful and friendly and they seemed to enjoy their job which is always nice.

I?m so relieved everything went well as we were nervous as to what construction business to go with. Angie?s List definitely did the job with their recommendation of Armscraft Construction and I?m so thankful we did our research first.

These guys are great.  Knowledgeable and skilled.  Not a spec of soot or debris remained in the fireplace room. Provided all necessary information to maintain chimney and working fireplace.  Will definitely use them again.

Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service

Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service dismantled my wall furnace and cleaned it completely. James and Ivan where superb, very professional, explained what they going to do and did it!! James went on the roof, inspected the venting system and  cleaned it.

My wall furnace is working and I am so happy! James also inspected my fireplace and explained all options available to me, he didn't pressure me a sales pitch he simply explained what his needed and what I can do now and what I can do later.

Needless, to say, in the near future I will call  Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service for my fireplace/chimney work.

    Sky Blue Restorations
The technicians were punctual and friendly.  I showed them the dryer and the outside vent and left them to it.  In fewer than 5 minutes they said they were finished.  I had previously done this job with my daughter and it took considerably longer than that but I allowed that perhaps because they were professionals at this, they knew how to do it quicky.  Before they left, they suggested that I buy a new flexible vent for $25.  I wasn't sure that I really needed one but I didn't want to take any chances.  When he took off the wall end of the old vent, there was a huge clump of lint sitting there.  He quickly removed it and cleaned up after himself but it made me wonder if the rest of the unseen vent was really lint-free.
My experience with them wasn't bad but there is a trust issue so I would not call them again.

Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service
The company service man, Jorge, arrived in a very colorful truck.  He was very polite and efficient. He checked the chimney for hazardous soot and did not find any.  He proceeded to sweep the chimney with a metal broom like tool. He installed a raincap/spark arrestor and was on his way.  We were glad to receive our discount with our Angie's List membership.  The price seemed fair and since we did not receive any other estimates we will not complain.

Recently had some work done on my house.  Contractor could not get the heater to start after turning it off. UMC turned it on and made suggestions as to how improve the heater's efficiency.  They also lighted the pilot for my gas log.

The range of price was so large that I didn't get it done b/c there wasn't a guarantee on the price. If they went in to determine it was stable it would have cost 5,000 (includes clean up and repair, etc.), but if they determined it was unstable it would have cost over 16,000 and I would have been stuck. They even provided a written estimate which was nice. The experience was great, though. The gentleman was helpful and responsive.
