I made an appointment to see Dr. Riff, because I saw him a few years prior. I made an appointment, got there, and still waited over an hour. I made sure to say it was to see Dr. Dennis Riff, and lady at front desk said yes. I finally got called to get vitals taken, I also tell her I am to see Dr. Riff. Waited in exam room some more. In walks Dr. Kevin something. I have Waited so long, I told myself why not? Why not? This guy was rude, would not let me ask all my questions because he was typing, he actually told me to be quiet for a second. Then when he asked me a few questions I also shared how I had lost weight from my last attack of "x." He told me to go tell all my girlfriends about my weigh loss, then he laughed. What? Maybe he thought I would laugh at my calamity? He asked me a few more questions. He sort of examined my abdomen. Then he typed some more, I said I had another question, he said to "stop"-- he is typing again. Then he told me to follow him. He opened the door, he was done. I didn't get to ask my question. No bedside manner, not caring, no compassion, not engaging at all. I paid cash. Not worth it. Good thing is, I am a cash patient and I can go anywhere for next time.

First colonoscopy and it was a breeze. The staff is caring and immediately puts you at ease. The preparation before the surgery is the worst but the surgery is easy and painless. The office and surgery centers are side by side and beautiful facilities with the added convenience that other offices don't offer. The doctor is kind and ease of appointment and office environment great. The follow-up appointment with results could have been a bit better and I advise to go in and have questions ready and ask them when reviewing your results. Best question if a problem is found, and quot;what do I need to do in my lifestyle to alleviate symptoms and or help this condition?and quot;.

    Rosenberg, Dr. Peter M.
I have had digestive issues and my daughter has Crohn's disease and he saved her life. Normally, my daughter is 135 pounds and she was almost down to 100 pounds. She went in there because she was having some pain. Dr. Rosenberg saw my daughter and asked her what was going on. My daughter described her problem and he said I'm not admitting into the hospital because if I send you over there, they will want to do surgery and you don't know what surgery you are going to end up with and it could really ruin your life. He said go over to urgent care, have them give you a drip because you are dehydrated, and you need morphine to take care of the pain. He said you go over and tell them what you need and you tell them that you need an x-ray. Then he said I will get you in to see a doctor and by the next day, she was being seen by a specialist, who only did the surgery that she needed and it saved her life. I will be forever indebted to him. My daughter was pregnant and having problems with digestion. She couldn't get in to see him because he was booked for three months out. So she saw another doctor in that group and she was really pleased with him. I would say anybody in that group probably is a very good doctor.

    Rosenberg, Dr. Peter M.
I would recommend him. I would give him five stars. He takes the time to answer all my questions. He proposes some solutions. He is not over reliant on expected diagnostic tests. He is willing to try changes in my diet rather than immediately going for expensive tests. He is very personable. He seems to show genuine concerns for his patients. He is hard to get an appointment with.

    S Bay Gastroenterology Med Grp.
After my initial appointment, Dr. Chan had me scheduled for the tests, and personally made sure I was able to get one very soon. The tests went smoothly, and as soon as I was out of Recovery, she talked with me about preliminary impressions and any biopsies she had taken. In the followup appointment, Dr. Chan was very thorough, explaining the results of the tests, advising about handling the conditions and providing brochures on them. She has also continued to follow up with my symptoms, scheduling tests and advising of use of medications. She is excellent, very concerned, and thorough. She has called me back when I had any questions, and also called to give me any further information she felt I should have. I was really impressed with her professionalism, thorough and caring manner throughout all the appointments and tests.

My experience with her has been highly positive. She s incredibly punctual. She cured a condition that another well respected mainstream Gastroenterologist couldn t. As far as I m concerned she s a savior. I respect her abilities. She s another doctor that on a personal level is very nice and lovely so even if she wasn t your doctor you would like her.

    Karnes, Dr. William E
Over the past decade, I've been to five gastroenterologists. Dr. Karnes was the only one who accurately diagnosed my chronic illness, and confirmed his evaluation through testing. He then explained to me what caused my illness, how I could better cope with its limitations, and even gave me the option of additional specialized tests and treatments that might lead to further pain relief. His staff also went out of their way to accommodate special needs.
