Terrible... Al said several times that I wasn't his type of client, yet wouldn't explain why. The holding lease was chocking my dog and while sanding her toenails he injured her twice. First by cutting her toe pad with the electric sander, then smacking her in the face for snapping at him when he didn't release her injured paw. She was not bathed and I was not charged. His actions were witnessed by myself, my aunt and Al's assistant. Al mouthed off saying his fingers were not going to be bit off. I called him out on hurting her, saying if he cut me like that I'd try to bite him, then told him to 'get the f*#k out of here' He laughed us off. Obviously, if you love and care about how your dog is treated.... You are NOT his kind of client. No telling what he does when he is not being watched.

    Aloha Dog Grooming
Aloha Dog Grooming is unreliable and your pet is at risk of being injured!
I actually have used Aloha several times for my small Silky Terrier/Miniature Poodle mix - Waldo. The last time was July 31, 2015 and it will literally be my last time due to their repeated injuring Waldo. Read on...
The first time a used them a few years ago was based upon the glowing reviews on Angies list. They did a bad job the first time due to the fact they shaved his belly so close that they broke the skin and left a big scrape which drew blood on his "undercarriage".  Waldo was not himself for several days after that nursing his wound.
The next time Waldo was due for grooming I decided to use Aloha again but make it crystal clear to them that hey need to be very very careful of his undercarriage and not injure him while shaving down there. Once again, they scraped his belly resulting in another wound - even after I explicitly warned them to be careful not to do that!
I discontinued using them after that for several months taking him to other groomers.
After several months I decided to give Aloha another chance - again, based upon the rave reviews they get (I'm now wondering if they post them themselves or just get their friends to post them). This time I took photos of the "after" grooming result I wanted (nothing fancy and based upon work they had done before - except for the wounding part). I also PUT IN WRITING to be super careful of shaving his undercarriage and to not nick/scrape/cut him there. If that were not enough, I also expressed it verbally to the intake person to make it crystal clear they should be careful of that area.
This verbal and documented specification seemed to work for that grooming and several thereafter so I continued to use them. Then on July 1 I took him in for a routine bath and cut but the person who now normally did Waldo was not there. The new girl looked up Waldo's specs on their paper file system and saw the picture of how he was to be groomed and my warning about being extra careful of his undercarriage. She did a good job and there was no injury.
On July 31 I took Waldo in for another grooming and had the same "intake" person as did the grooming on July 1. We had the same now-familiar conversation about being careful of his undercarriage and she asked if that was a problem last time - to which I responded No, it was not a problem last time. I'm not sure who actually did the grooming of Waldo on the July 31 appointment but the person who presented him post-grooming was not the intake girl - the one who did a good job on July 1. I did not inspect Waldo at "checkout" but did when I got home because he was acting funny. What I found was the worst butcher job he has ever experience there. There where TWO deep cuts/injuries, one on the undercarriage and one on his tail. He was  in pain - and still is 3 days later. I've had to use expensive Vet prescribed medicine to help heal his wounds.
This was a long story which I will sum up with - after telling Aloha every single time (except the first because I didn't realize they butcher your pet while grooming) and furthermore putting it in writing, they still either (1) had someone unqualified to groom do the job, (2) don't listen to / don't care about a thing you say, (3) are too busy to really do a caring job for your pet (maybe because of false advertising) or all of the above. The person who groomed Waldo on July 31 should be fired - see the pictures of his wounds. You really do not want to roll the dice and expose your pet to this kind of abuse. The groomer was/is incompetent and uncaring and should find another line of work.
I will NEVER use these butchers again.

Absolutely wonderful. This is our second time. The first time I was not able to be home my husband was in the hospital. My mom was pet sitting. Allan and his assistant were able to bathe Champ and do his nails. Allan sent me a video text message showing me Champs bath and care. He reassured me from the start that everything would be just fine. And it was! The shampoo and conditioner he uses is fantastic and smells wonderful! He does not cost more than other groomers that you have to drive to, drop off,and either wait or drive back to pickup. Yesterday while Champ was being groomed I was making lasagne. And again Champ was well cared for and did not have to be dragged (literally) into a shop and dropped off. I really like that! I recommend Allan and will continue to use his service.

    Dee Dees Dog Spot
Dee Dee is a hard working dog lover who aims to please. I tell her what my little girl needs before each visit and we have been happy with the results for more than 2.5 years. She will also try to accommodate her customers with product preferences such as oatmeal based shampoo for those dogs with dry skin.

    Aloha Dog Grooming
I have a small beagle. She doesn't let me clean her ears so it is easier just to have her bathed, ears cleaned, anal glands expressed and nails clipped. I had gone to another and quot;highly ratedand quot; local groomer and came home with a traumatized dog (all the dogs and quot;playand quot; together between grooming and there was no place for her to chill) and a filthy crate because the other dogs were allowed to pee on it. The people who ran that place where cheerful and appeared to care for the animals but it was clear they thought me overwrought.
Completely different at Aloha Dog Grooming. While some of the dogs are roaming freely, there are places for dogs to sleep or relax if necessary as well as individual cages if that would be better. They also asked a vital question that the first place didn't: Is she spayed? No she isn't. My vet wants her to be a year old before spaying. (I don't think my own nerves will last past one heat.) They were also very quick, instead of like the first place, where you had to leave the dog for at least four hours.
When I dropped her off, I explained that she had rolled in a pool of fresh seagull poop during our walk this morning. While I had tried to wipe it all off, there was still a slight smell. No one was put off by it and they scooped her up as if there was no smell at all. She was shaking a little when I left (she is very shy with people), but she was just fine when I picked her up later. She was clean, she smelled great, and her coat was so shiny it was not to be believed. Her nails were also uniformly trimmed, unlike our previous and quot;highly ratedand quot; groomer. Overall we were VERY HAPPY.

    Aloha Dog Grooming
I scheduled the appointment (date listed is approximate) and my brother dropped off/picked up my dog while I was traveling. My brother said the staff was friendly and both the drop off and pick up were easy. My dog was ready at the promised time. When I returned the next morning (after the grooming appointment), my dog was shedding heavily and her nails were jagged, though I could tell her nails had been trimmed. My brother had a bloody gash on his lower arm where my dog had scratched him during a game of fetch the day before, after he had picked her up from Aloha. He said he didn't notice how jagged her nails were when he picked her up. He also said she had been shedding badly since he picked her up. To be fair, she wasn't shedding before I left town so I hadn't ordered a shed-ex treatment for her, just a bath, but the previous groomer we used (for another dog in another town) would have called to let me know if there was anything else to be done - when I scheduled the appointment, I went to the facility in person, but my dog was not with me. My dog is a rescue and I've only had her about four months. I had been washing her at home and taking her to the vet for her nails, etc., but thought I'd try a local groomer. My dog did fine, but I think we'll keep looking for a facility that isn't so crowded or so busy they can't call me or file down nails after a trimming.

Rebecca and the whole staff is friendly, professional and always gentle with my poodles. My poodles always come out perfectly cut and ready when they said they would. I love that everyone in Aloha loves animals and keep the place clean.

I really like these guys. They always do such a good job. They are very caring and patient with older dogs. Unfortunately, they are so popular, you can't just walk in and get an appt the same day unless you are lucky and they had a cancellation. You really need to book with them as far in advance as you can.

    Aloha Dog Grooming
She was a groomer with someone else for a long time and decided to go it alone. She is great and that about sums her up. She was voted "THE BEST OF" in 2007, 2008 and 2009 in Ventura for grooming and as far as I'm concerned, she is! She's very nice and has a lot of animals of her own on her farm which I think speaks highly of her as animal lover as well. She's dynamite!

    Hair & The Hound
We love "rasta dog' with the wild grey and white hair all over, but the matted hair was becoming impossible - impossible to brush, cut, remove burrs. The vet suggested that we have the dog groomed for the summer with a short cut. He suggested Linda at the Hair and the Hound because she was very good with skittish dogs and dogs who were not used to being professionally groomed. Linda did her magic and all the matted and tangled hair was gone and a very smart short hair cut was the result. She loves the animals and it shows.
