Cabinet Making reviews in Venice

Since Preferred did my bathroom remodel, I was ready to hire them to redo my kitchen. We gutted it to the beams. Michelle and Aviv were on top of the job throughout. What I did learn about contractors and remodels is that they will never go perfectly. There were some delays for many different reasons. But between directing me to quality materials and their craftsman installing everything, the job turned out great. My major complaint is that the clean up during and after was not up to par. I don't expect things to be spotless but it was left as if someone else was going to come to pick up after (no one did except me). There were some additional costs that could have been foreseen. I understand that everything costs money but I'd rather know ahead of time. I am very happy with the end product and will probably use Preferred for future projects - knowing more about what to expect when doing these types of projects.

I wanted to have my bathroom remodel. I needed to extend the size of the shower so it can fit my surfboard and would be ease to access... I searched online and found Expo home on Home Advisor, went through their reviews and was impressed. when i met Shay he was awesome, very informative and professional. The job process was easy, the workers were great and the final finish is amazing. I love it. It looks fresh, modern and very high end. I am happy and highly recommend EXPO home design and remodeling. Thank you guys.

We are very pleased with the final results of our kitchen and guest bathroom remodeling project and the fine work of Preferred Home Builders. From the initial meetings with Aviv, who helped us to plan and design our project, to the final fixes and patches at the end of the project, we were impressed with their professionalism, efficiency, attention to detail, and fine workmanship. We are grateful to all involved: George, the foreman; Daisy, our main contact with the office and the person who did the scheduling; and all of the various workers: Ricardo, Nixon, Miguel, George, Marcos, Brandon, Luis and Huber. They were always on time, followed HOA guidelines, worked efficiently and thoroughly, showed courtesy, and exhibited great skillfulness in their work. We are particularly happy with the beautiful cabinets, gorgeous countertops (the photos don't capture how nice they look) and wonderful tile work. They really place a priority on excellence. As with any project, there were delays and obstacles to overcome. The five-week estimated project length ran over by two weeks, but that was not the fault of the contractor. We had some challenges dealing with unreasonable and overly zealous city inspectors whose demands were sometimes ridiculously stringent and often contradictory. Our contractor handled each of these challenges as well as they could, and they provided us with needed reassurances when we started to get nervous and impatient. Daisy and Aviv, in particular, were calming influences during the project. We have worked with two other contractors in the past, both at our former residence. One of them, now retired, was superb. The other was horrible. We are able draw on those experiences to provide a contrast to this most recent remodeling experience. What I can say is that Preferred Home Builders exceeded our expectations, and we do not hesitate to give them our highest recommendation.

What started out as a refresh of a 1950s bungalow (i.e. majority of the work cosmetic upgrades only) to be completed in five (5) weeks, turned into a much more complex and extensive renovation project. As with any old house, there were unforeseen things that came up. In addition, I added scope during the project (new kitchen cabinets, reconfiguration of bedroom closets). While tough and quick decisions had to be made, the Regal team managed to accommodate all changes and still meet the five week timeline to have everything substantially complete. Not only did they stick to schedule, but also delivered quality finish work. I am very satisfied with the overall experience and would highly recommend this construction group. I want to give particular recognition to Sean who endured my daily texts, provided sound design advice, and delivered on his every word. Also, Manuel (site superintendent) and Jackson (painter) were very professional and exceptional in their attention to detail. Cindy at the office was always responsive and helpful as well. I sincerely appreciate the positive experience and highly recommend the Regal Construction and Remodeling.

Amy came up with the perfect layout that seems obvious to me now, but nobody else thought of it. But she would not have come up with the perfect layout had she not spent the time going through various configurations. As they say, innovation is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. But the design is just the first step for Amy. Once I approved it, we went shopping for tile, plumbing fixtures, cabinets, and counter top material. Never did I feel rushed to make a decision. In fact, Amy would always want me to take my time about decisions. It was important for her to see how things looked in my bathroom as colors could look different in different light. She will pay attention to the tiniest details like the location of light switches and towel rods, width of slab edges, tile patterns, and proper paint colors. Contractors like her detailed approach because it avoids any ambiguities. Suffice it to say, I simply cannot fathom how I could have properly done my master bath remodel without Amy Rothman.

I hired Daniel's Design & Construction for remodeling existing bathrooms, and an addition of a master bedroom, the cost of the Job was $77,500. The contractor, Mark is responsible, professional, and he had me informed on every every detail concerning the job. He provides professional and helpful advice and helps with coming up with the best project decisions. The workers also give great insights on what you discuss with them. The master bedroom and bathrooms came out amazing, beyond as I expected. Overall, I'm very happy choosing to hire Daniel's Design & Construction, and I'm looking forward on working with Mark in the future. Thanks Daniel's Design & Construction, good job.

Jacob and his team did an absolutely amazing job on the home remodel. The team showed up every morning on time, were productive throughout the day, and continued the high level of effort throughout the entire project.?They take pride in their work, delivered high quality craftsmanship,?and put in the extra hours to make sure things were right. Even as I tacked on additional projects, they took it all in stride and continue to deliver exceptional work. Jacob was always available 24/7 to hear my ideas and address any concerns I had during the project. He also has a great design aesthetic and quickly interpreted my ideas into execution. I would highly recommend LUXE to anyone who appreciates high quality craftsmanship, exceptional value, and is?looking to completely transform their home.

Cabinet by Design AKA Archwood Manufacturing Group was hired to make and install a custom kitchen island. The owner, Charlie Subero provided the utmost experience in unprofessionalism. To start, throughout the project Charlie set up 4 appointments to meet me at my residence 3 of which he just never showed up. No call, no text, no email NO SHOW! I had to make special arrangements to miss work to accommodate his "weekday only" schedule however when he didn't show up, I missed work and I did not receive as much as an apology. Communication throughout the project was horrendous, with the exception of his emailing me invoices for payment. He asked me to email him specs for appliances on numerous occasions since he could not find them because he misplaced or deleted the email. I also texted him specs which he also couldn't find when he needed them. I provided him a wood plank sample to serve as a standard for the countertop color and finish which he lost. I also provided him with a high resolution image for the island I wanted to replicate which he ignored. He took liberties such as choosing the type of wood for the countertop which he didn't even bother asking me about. When I saw the counter top I didn't like it because it was sleek and contemporary in style, to add insult to injury he advised me it was very expensive walnut and he would need to charge me for it as well as another top should I decide to change it. I mentioned it would have been more appropriate to discuss wood type options with me prior to just picking whatever he wanted. Because he had a sample of the wood standard and images he was well aware that I wanted a distressed reclaimed look which could have been achieved with a lower priced wood species. He charged me $1800.00 for the counter top. It seemed so odd that he would proceed with making the countertop without even discussing it with me, the ah ha moment happened, he had the wood sitting around from another dissatisfied customer so he just decided to increase his profit margin by using it on my project rather than do the right thing and discuss wood options. When arriving at my residence for the final installation, he yelled at my partner telling him we cost him $250 for making his laborers wait for his arrival when it was he who was running late and one of his laborers who specifically told us Charlie directed them to wait. It was a good thing that they waited because it took all of them, including Charlie to get the island into the kitchen and installed. When all men (including Charlie) took the island out of the truck, because proper precautions were not taken, the truck started rolling down the driveway. All the guys were able to grab it but I thought it was quite symbolic of the way Charlie runs his company. Once the island was installed the cabinet doors were installed backwards. The matching doors are supposed to be installed with knobs facing each other (like french doors) they were installed with hinges facing each other. The knob pulls were installed too high (supposed to positioned the same as the existing kitchen cabinets) and uneven. When I brought the obvious errors to Charlies attention he became very defensive and needed to make me expressly aware that my dissatisfaction "complaints" would be taken into consideration for any future projects I may need. He became increasingly upset with the installation and began yelling at his workers. he tried justifying the doors being installed backwards because that was not the fault of his laborers but rather a design flaw on his part. He refused to correct the mistake saying he designed it backwards on purpose. He did not use anything to protect my new wood floors around the island when installing it therefore the workers left 2 scratches and some paint splatter on them. He did not use anything to protect my new wood floors around the island when installing it therefore the workers left 2 scratches and some paint splatter on them. From inception to completion this job was nothing short of a nightmare. My advice, don?t walk, run from Charlie Subero and any company he may be affiliated with.

This was my first major home remodel whereas my husband was a structural engineer who built office buildings.  Our combined experience was very positive working with Hi-Teach Builders, Inc.

The owner, David Lachyani and his administrative staff are outstanding for their sense of responsibility and high level of responsiveness. We felt they were genuine in caring about our home.

Hi-Tech uses a bidding approach that gives a set figure for the project so it is important that each party understand and agrees on what is covered under that contract.  We liked that it was done in writing with time to review it and adjust it before the final list. In any project there are many decisions and Hi-Tech will offer its opinion but if you differ, they will work with you.

We felt that the contractor was solutions oriented and we worked very well together to overcome the challenges that any construction project will experience.  We completed the project pretty much on time and on budget.  The change orders were due to our decision, but Hi-Tech was cooperative and helpful.  We felt that they offered solutions that were in the best interest of the project, not to add on costs. The owner is very hands on and believes it is important that the client is happy with the work.  Whenever there were problems, we could be direct and go over the possible scenarios until we came to a mutually satisfactory result.  He really listens. The end result is beautiful and we would work with them again.

Two words about Hi-Tech Builders - responsible and responsive.  Great experience.

Moe came over 2 months prior to give an estimate, 1 month prior to take detailed measurements.  We ordered the faucets (he gave us tips on what to look for, and where other customers had found them on sale), low-flush toilet (which had a $150 rebate) and medicine cabinets.
Moe had the bathroom cabinet and kitchen drawers constructed ahead of time, so much of it had out-gassed prior to installation.
We're glad he discovered a slow leak in the plumbing and had it repaired the next day.
Moe is creative with ideas, dependable, and honest.  He took extra care to protect our soft engineered wood flooring.  His workers left the area clean everyday.
We're very pleased with the process and the results!
