Dr. Dodge is persistent about getting the best possible outcome - he won't give up until it's right. I came to him after having the same doctor (in another state) for 30 years. Although I have astigmatism, prism, and keratoconus, he was able to give me regular lenses, not special keratoconus (expensive!) lenses. I was still having trouble, so he suggested I see an ophthalmologist, that I had cataracts. I did that, they were more severe than I realized, and had the surgery last year. He helped me with temporary soft lenses while my eyes got themselves ready for surgery. After, he and his wonderful staff have helped me get new contacts and glasses. When one pair of glasses was about 90% good (for driving) he said he wanted to try again; this time they were perfect! He also helped me when my eyes were tearing up. He is excellent. If the address on this page shows Ventura Blvd, that's old. He is on Van Nuys Blvd, at Huston now, in bigger and nicer offices.

I had a perfect experience with them. It is a great service. Even the doctor himself was actually talking. The office environment is very professional. They have the most high tech equipment I've seen in an eye doctor's office. The wait time wasn't bad. It wasn't long.

    Dr. Craig Steinberg
I have been going here for eight years. They are pretty good with scheduling and I usually don’t have to wait to be seen. They are small and convenience. They offer a nice selection of glasses. I would recommend them to others.

    White, Dr. Vincent W.
Dr. White is a old-school but highly effective optometrist. While he may not have the latest equipment, his years of experience is great for keeping our family's eyes healthy. We have been using him for years and have received a number of glasses and contact lens from him as he sells those too to be a convenient and quot;one-stop shop.and quot; You do have to call him to see if your glasses are ready and he can be a bit slow on following-up, and I did get a pair of sunglasses once where one lens was darker than the other, but Dr. White not only took care of that, he did so immediately by using a local lab so I was out only a couple more days.

Eye exam was good with the eye doctor. Experience with the optician not so much. My husband picked out a set of frames only to be informed later that they were no longer available. The frames he did pick were flexon frames which are not adjustable b/c of the material they're made of, but the optician failed to tell him that , and so the glasses he has fits loosely on his ears. also they were pushing for him to get an expensive set of lenses for sunglasses inserts for sunglasses that didn't justify the cost.

    Greenspoon, Dr. Morton K.
It went very well. I had lasik surgery done over 10 years ago; one for reading and one for distance, and they didn't come together. I had to have my right eye redone for distance and wore glasses for reading. My vision was getting really bad and I went to get a check up, and have to wear glasses for reading and glasses for distance. It makes me nuts, but he was thorough and explained whey I could not have progressive lenses made. Due to a brain tumor that I had (benign), my eyes would not come together and there was no other solution for me.

It went great. My mom is 83 and she was not in great health at the time of her first appt. To top it off, she had lost her purse when she first moved out here and had none of her ID. The front desk staff were extremely patient and understanding and the substitute information we were able to provide was used and her medical information obtained with no problems. We were brought into the back offices and taken to a couple of different rooms by supporting staff to be examined, questions are asked at each round and you are escorted to a different seating area each step of the way. There was not a long wait to see Dr. Kramer who is charming, and patient as well as being thorough. They certainly instill a lot of confidence. My mother was referred to a retina specialist - also located at the same location - and we have had a subsequent visit with Dr. Kramer. All is well and we will be doing follow up appt in 6 months.

    Blackstone Optometry
I am super happy with my new glasses and will continue to go back to Blackstone Optometry. The space is a little small and very cozy the selection is limited, but the people make up for it. Everyone I came in contact with was very helpful and I got the feeling that they enjoyed working there.

    Steinberger, Dr. Dean S.
He is friendly and a nice guy. I would recommend him. Overall, my wife and I had a good experience with him. He is a good doctor. He is totally available. He doesn't ask much neither do we. I never had any issues with the billing.

    Steinberger, Dr. Dean S.
Their office staff was polite and attentive and set our appointment for a convenient Saturday morning for me, my wife and son. His staff saw each of us on time, having our eyes analyzed by several high-technology machines. My favorite is the device that takes a flash photo of my eyes and eliminates the need for eye drops!!!
Then we each went into the exam room with Dr. Steinberger where a the traditional device fine tuned our prescription needs. Next we selected our frames and, when possible, re-used the ones we already had. All my questions were answered and we were out before my 45 minutes on the parking meter had expired.
Our glasses were ready in a few days and overall the pricing was quite fair. Not as as cheap as my local discount warehouse, but not as expensive as most places. However, I would rather have a career professional handling my vision instead of the guy who normally handles warehouse inventory.
Overall, I was quite pleased. Enough to write this review...which I don't normally do because of demands on my time. My only complaint is that the office is a bit small because it is in the expensive rent part of Ventura Blvd.
