    Right Solution Inc
Right Solutions is that magical auto shop you have been looking for. I've lived in Los Angeles for 25 years and been to a bunch of mechanics and no matter the issue, the minimum repair was always $300. A few years ago, a tow truck driver recommended Right Solutions on Venice Blvd near La Cienega. Since then, I've never been to another auto shop. My first experience with Walter was awesome. I took my car in because the battery was corroded and so were the terminals. I figured I needed a new battery and new terminals and I was prepared to pay $300, but Walter took one look and told me to pour a can of coke on the battery. He recommended a $1 repair that I could do myself and it fixed the issue! Since then they have replaced transmissions, brakes, fixed electrical issues and even changed the oil. Right Solutions is a unicorn! They are experienced mechanic's that actually weigh the cost of the repair to the benefit and provide enough information to help you decide what to do. Don't be fooled by the location or the older building, this is the best auto shop in Los Angeles.

    Reseda Mufflers
It went great! First, I gave him a call to see if he could service my car after I was rear-ended and my muffler and exhaust systems were damaged.! I had been to two other places, one quoted me at $600 and the other at $500. Sako gave me a fair assessment over the phone. When I showed up for the estimate he informed me that I didn't need a new muffler at all. His shop specializes in customizing parts by bending and reshaping the medals. He could reuse my muffler and two out of three of the hangers. The previous guy I saw wanted to replace all three at $15 a piece, he only needed to do the one for $10. And the exhaust pipe could be replaced with reshaped medal at a lower cost. My estimate was free. When one of the parts I ordered turned out to be wrong, he installed the correct one free of charge when it came in. He was VERY honest about what work I really needed! There were several times he could have tried to up-sell me, but didn't. He worked while I waited and there was a nice little cafe across the driveway I could duck into to have a drink or bite to eat while I waited.

The experience was very nice. This is a family owned business and they are service oriented. They are kinda hard to find because they are located behind a stereo shop and the signage isn't all that great. But they have been there for 20 years and they are good people. I strongly recommend this shop if you are in the City of Orange or one of the surrounding cities.

Jack saved my life. Had taken my 14-year-old Civic into my trusted repair shop for routine maintenance and a smog check. Got it back that evening sounding like a Ferrari. Wonderful. If you're a Ferrari. My usually-terrific, highly-rated, AAA Santa Monica shop advised that I'd need a new battery and two new tires by mid-December. Also advised that I drive the freeway more often to extend the life of the battery. Picked up the car that evening, drove to Hollywood along Pico, roaring upon acceleration. Parked for 5 minutes within sight. Per advice, took the freeway back, gunning it a bit now and then. Next day, took the car back to the shop. New intake person said, and quot; Can't do anything about it,and quot; then, and quot;throttle.and quot; Had I parked the car where someone could have tampered with it? No. Had I driven through water? No, this is California and the car is garaged. Mechanic called over, revved the motor, pronounced, and quot;Too loud, and quot; glanced under the back of the car (without putting it on the rack), said, and quot;Oxidation.and quot; I was told the shop would send the car out for muffler work when I could bring it back. I should have insisted they put the car on the rack right then. Wondering how a muffler could occidate within 10 hours at the shop, I researched online (Honda website has great parts diagrams w/ cost per part), talked w/ AAA and Honda, Inc. The latter suggested a second opinion. By now, upon backing out of the garage, the Civic was sounding like the rear end would fall off. Jack, of Golden Muffler, put the car on the rack and pointed out what was wrong: the muffler was hanging from the exhaust pipe by one bolt and a small metal thingy. Are we imagining what could have happened on the freeway yet? Jack cut out a portion of pipe, soldered a section of new pipe in, showed me that everything else under the car was looking good (I really appreciate being treated as though I would understand) and, in less than 1/2 hour, I was back on the road. My little red Honda coupe sounds, once again--sigh--like a Civic. Thanks to previous Angie's reviewers for the details that made a difficult choice easier!

They did a good job.  They were pretty nice and the owner was really nice.  He took about a few hours and I went back, but he was still working on it.  He said it will be ready soon.  I haven't had any problems.  He made it look like it is from a factory very much.  The price was fair.  He had to cut the pipe and it was not cheap.  The quality was excellent.  He was pretty punctual.  When I went back, it was done in half an hour.

My daughter is living in the Covina, Ca. area going to college. Recently her 2003 Buick Century has had  warning lights come on, (service engine soon, ABS, and service vehicle soon), in that order.  Now as a parent not living in the area, I was leery about where to take her car for service. I personally have my own mechanic shop in my area that I have been going to for over 25 yrs. So I know a good, honest mechanic when I experience one.    That said. I looked at good reviews for a brake specialist in the Covina area. I found Quality Muffler & Brakes. Glad I gave them a try. These people did a diagnostic and got back to me within a couple hours. Sam and his team found a couple of frayed wires that were causing the (ABS & service vehicle soon) lights to come on, and repaired that issue. A crooked shop could have easily turned that into a costly venture. The ?service engine soon? light turned out to be a fouling catalytic converter, understandable, for the age of the car. I had that replaced at a very reasonable price.  Thanks Quality Muffler & Breaks for putting two parents with a student away from home at ease.

After a minor accident, we discovered that the a bolt had sheared at the fitting that connects the exhaust pipe to the manifold. We were quoted a minor price to replace just the bolts on the connecting flange. However, the cost to replace the entire exhaust system was reasonable considering the material and labor involved. For instance, hanging brackets had to be fabricated to properly suspend the pipe. Even though the employee was working alone that day, he worked late to complete the job within the estimated time. Granted, I have not climbed under the car for a detailed inspection, but from what I can see, the work and welding job appears to have been completed in a professional and thorough manner by someone who knew what they were doing. Considering the material, time, and skill involved, the $300 was a reasonable cost.

Another mechanic referred me to them. We thought it was going to cost more. We had an appointment and they did not keep us waiting. He looked at and told us what the problem was. He told us how much it would cost and said he needed an hour and ten minutes to do it. We left and came back and the car was in front of the shop and ready to go. I think it was a fair price. So, far it hasn't broke down. He offered to show us what the problem was. He was cooperative and if my mother needed work, I would send her to Ken's.
