    Independent Physical Therapy
An Excellent Physical Therapy Experience. I sustained a very painful knee injury with tears in the ACL and MCL ligaments. IPT in Sherman Oaks was wonderful. The Physical Therapist Danielle instructed, guided, and evaluated my progress at each visit. The PT Technician Anthony assisted me with exercises to strengthen my knees and the muscles surrounding my knee(s). This was my second time using IPT in a five-year period. Each time, post therapy I am more knowledgeable, my injuries are vastly improved, and I have added body strength to assist in preventing re-injury. Karina, the receptionist, is very pleasant, helpful and professional. Making appointments was never stressful. I recommend IPT in Sherman Oaks to everyone. This is the place to go to get better. Thank you for everything Danielle, Anthony, Karina and IPT!

    Dr. Ben-Yehuda
Dr. Ben Yehuda is the absolute best doctor there is. Both my husband and I work in the medical field, so we had a discerning eye for what we liked, and wanted, in the doctor/office that would provide our prenatal care and delivery. I visited a few other doctors early in my pregnancy, but Dr. Ben-Yehuda was above-all, the best. He is extremely detailed, and informative. I learned, and understood, so much more about my pregnancy. He explains everything, and thoroughly. He has a beautiful office that feels clean, and in order. The appointments are scheduled just right; there was never a wait. I felt I was the only patient there, every time. I also loved the efficiency of the office, with everything done in-office; blood tests, glucose test, and ultrasounds. I never had to go to a second appointment at another location, for any part of my prenatal care. Dr. Ben-Yehuda always called me with test results, very promptly, sometimes even the next day. Hes also available by email, and so are the office staff, Lidia and Genesis. He and his wife hosted a one-time, first-time parents class that I found to be extremely valuable and comprehensive of everything one needs to know! Saved us so much time and money to not have to take any additional courses, elsewhere. I also ran into quite a bit of insurance trouble the last month of my pregnancy, but Dr. Ben Yehuda has an insurance specialist on staff, who was able to create a solution for us. She was magnificent, and clever. Then finally, the delivery... Our baby took his time, going 11 days past his due date. Dr. Ben Yehuda never rushed the process, and did everything he could to heed to Mother Nature. Also, our baby was estimated to be very large, but Dr. Ben Yehuda kept a c-section birth as a last resort. Fortunately, with his help, I was able to still deliver vaginally, and heal promptly. Overall, its apparent that Dr. Ben-Yehuda genuinely loves his work and his patients. I am actually looking forward to my next pregnancy so that I can be under his care once again!

    Cecillio, Dr. Vera D.
I have used Dr. Cecillio myself and have referred many patients to her over years. I sent my brother to her and she completely missed a squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue which was visible to the naked eye. Luckily my brother got a second opinion and after a five-hour surgery at UCLA is hoping to fully recover.

    Asher Ram MD
Dr. Ram is very professional and friendly. He is a great local GP. Like most doctor's offices you do have to wait a little to see him, but once you are in the room with him, he gives you a thorough examination.

    Asher Ram MD
It was excellent. The price was the lowest. (We did our research before we came). So, we didn't expect the high quality of care in advance, so we wouldn't be disappointed. Yet, the experience was above and beyond any expectations. First of all we were met by Sarah, the assistant, who was an absolutely adorable, helping and overall nice woman. By the way, she is really good with the needle. My wife said she didn't even feel a thing when Sarah took her blood. Doctor was professional, nice, efficient and friendly. Overall, it was awesome. I would definitely refer Dr Ram to anyone, and not only for the Immigration medical Exam, yet for any medical problem. Thank you, doctor Ram! Thank you, Sarah! Thank you, Virginia!

    Mark Lovaas MD
He is a criminally negligent surgeon. He massacred my nose. He lied to my face (I was only 18 years old), about what he was capable of doing. He inflicted irreparable damage to my nostrils leaving them asymmetrical, removed my entire nasal spine, removed almost my entire tip leaving me with a "supratip beak deformity", removed the top portion of my bridge leaving almost nothing behind, and left me with hideous nostril scars. He told me that the reason I have two completely different nostrils is because he had so much trouble performing the surgery and that he kept cutting and re-suturing my left nostril over and over again. He is incredibly arrogant, which makes him delusional about his capacity as a surgeon. When I discussed the botched nose job he gave me, he said, "everyone has cases with unfavorable results...I am not the only one." He shouldn't be allowed to practice, which is precisely what he did to me - practice. I never sued him because I was so upset about what happened that I didn't want to think about it - I couldn't face it (literally). I finally had a world renowned surgeon in another state revise what was able to be revised, which was limited based on the damage (cost me $22,000.) The damage was so severe it required grafts and surgery in stages. I will never be the same. This was a simple reduction rhinoplasty that turned into a nightmare.

    Pacific Oaks Medical Group
This is a general review of the past 18 years of service by this provider. At one time this medical group was the premier medical group to go to if you were HIV+.
It is very depressing to see the decay in service and how doctors have left the practice, in one instance over lunch.
My most recent experience that has pushed me over the edge is that I have narcolepsy which is treated with ritalin. This medication requires a written prescription each month. Five months, ago after 3 years of going to the office monthly solely to get a refill prescription my doctor told me that I could call in for the 2 months in between my quarterly checks and then just pick up my prescription.
Awesome, what a time saver. The first month phone call and refill, no issue. The second month refill phone call, resulted in a return call saying I had to come in for a doctor visit to get the prescription. After I explained that the doctor had said I could just call in to get the refills in between my quarterly visits, they verified that I would come and pick up the refill prescription.
Month three, I go in and do the full blood work (2K approximately) and get my next refills.
Month four, I call in and no problem.
Month five, I call in and after 2 days get a call back saying that I have to come in for a doctor's visit to get my prescription. Mind you that I have been going to this practice for 18 years. After going off on the office manager, she called me back and the prescription was ready for pick up.
My sister-in-law goes to pick it up the next day and the front desk says they don't have it. I had to get the office manager Amy involved again to provide the prescription so that it could be picked up.
Personally, I'm desperately seeking out a new provider that I can switch two who can take over my care. I would not recommend Pacific Oaks to anyone. While at one time they were the premier medical group treating HIV over the past 5 years all the really good doctors have left along with the good office staff.
It is not fun when you have to explain basic HRA/PPO benefits to the office clerk during checkout. While I did work in insurance and probably understand my benefits better than most; it should not be my responsibility to educate their recently hired office staff about benefits when I'm trying to leave so that I can get back to work.
While I like my current doctor and his nurse, I cannot deal with the office staff or lack of knowledgeable staff any longer. In the past three it has gone from bad to worse, and I can feel my stress level and blood pressure go up as I drive the hour to their office, wait in the waiting room for 30 minutes, spend 10-15 minutes with the doctor, and then finally as go the check-out I start stressing about who I'm going to get at the desk. When I'm lucky i get the 1 of the 2 individuals who actually know what they are doing. Lately, I have not been lucky and instead I'm stuck with the individual that don't understand what HRA, HSA, PPO stand for and I most recently I had to explain what Maximum Out of Pocket (MOOP) means so that she would not insist on a $200 co-pay when I have already met my MOOP which mean the insurance would pay 100%.

    Susman, Dr. Shelley
She has been my physician for many years now and I recommend her highly.  She and her staff are professional, courteous and very responsive to my questions, needs and concerns.  While other OB/GYN physicians backed out of the Covered California health insurance plans because they wouldn't be paid enough, Dr. Susman not only chose to participate in the program but told other physicians she would welcome their patients.  I feel that Dr. Susman has the highest integrity, both personally and professionally, and I recommend her highly.  [My cost for this annual exam, PAP smear, etc. was $0.00 because it's covered under the "wellness"  clause of the Affordable Health Care Act.]

    Dr. Ben-Yehuda
I used Dr. Ben Yehuda since the beginning of my pregnancy and I was very pleased. He is very knowledgable and takes his time to answer every question. At the delivery itself he was very professional and helped me go through the entire experience in a positive wave. I had an amazing delivery, and I highly recommend  Dr. Ben Yehuda.

    Kamyar Kamjoo MD
This is the first time I saw Dr. Kamjoo. He was recommended to me by another physician. The wait was long the first time, when I went for the follow up and blood work results he was right on time. He is very thorough and very nice. He answered all of my questions, and didn't seem rushed. He office staff was friendly and responsive.
