Dr. Dodge is persistent about getting the best possible outcome - he won't give up until it's right. I came to him after having the same doctor (in another state) for 30 years. Although I have astigmatism, prism, and keratoconus, he was able to give me regular lenses, not special keratoconus (expensive!) lenses. I was still having trouble, so he suggested I see an ophthalmologist, that I had cataracts. I did that, they were more severe than I realized, and had the surgery last year. He helped me with temporary soft lenses while my eyes got themselves ready for surgery. After, he and his wonderful staff have helped me get new contacts and glasses. When one pair of glasses was about 90% good (for driving) he said he wanted to try again; this time they were perfect! He also helped me when my eyes were tearing up. He is excellent. If the address on this page shows Ventura Blvd, that's old. He is on Van Nuys Blvd, at Huston now, in bigger and nicer offices.

I had been there for annual checkups the prior two years. The wait time from my on-time arrival until I was actually ushered into the treatment area had been approximately 20-25 minutes each time, which I do not appreciate, as I made a specific appointment time, and took off from  and they are not running an ER. It's just eye exams.  Additionally, at one of my prior appointments, once I was inside and had my preliminary interview with the nurse, I was then left alone for almost 50 minutes, waiting for the next technician to administer eye drops; then, the next technician who checked my eyes was "new" and didn't know how to use the machines (one of which was broken) - we had to change exam rooms twice (3 exam rooms in total) so she could figure it out and find one that worked, and I waited even longer for her to redo the exam because she was unsure. After that exam, I was told "the doctor will be right in".  Dr. Kramar came in over 35 minutes later. By then, I was not smiling and neither was he.  He was very abrupt and disinterested in some issues I was experiencing; he hardly answered my questions.  I left very upset with the entire appointment.

My Dec 2015 appt (I am not exactly sure of the date), I checked in on time and waited for approximately an hour. Other patients were going up to inquire when they would be seen and most of them had been there between 1-2 hours. A woman next to me told the receptionist that she was there for 2 hours and when would she be seen? The receptionist said: "We tell our patients to allow two hours for the appointment."  Yeah, for the Entire Appointment, not waiting for two hours and then two more hours for the appointment.  I was not going to sit a minute longer. I had taken precious time off work. I told the receptionist I was leaving; she apologized mechanically for the delay and asked if she could book another appointment. I made an appointment, knowing I was probably going to cancel it but I didn't want to make a hasty decision to change doctors while I was angry.

Two days before my rescheduled appointment, I thought back on the past visits and realized that they were not timely, efficient, personable or friendly; they were automatons pushing (overbooked) patients in one door and out the other.  I called to cancel the appointment and - guess what - I was on hold for over 12 minutes listening to their looped recorded advertisement of all the wonderful services that the wonderful doctors and wonderful staff offer. at two convenient locations  That was it. I hung up and FAXED them my appointment cancellation and informed them I was no longer a patient, so not to bother calling me to reschedule.

There are lots of other ophthalmologists and places to get eye exams quickly, efficiently and personably - at least 10 others within a mile of my work and home. OAV acts like they're running a major multinational corporation with no time to spare or spend caring about their patients. They need to get real - they're not that important; they're not saving lives; it's just eye exams.

I had a perfect experience with them. It is a great service. Even the doctor himself was actually talking. The office environment is very professional. They have the most high tech equipment I've seen in an eye doctor's office. The wait time wasn't bad. It wasn't long.

I have been going here for eight years. They are pretty good with scheduling and I usually don’t have to wait to be seen. They are small and convenience. They offer a nice selection of glasses. I would recommend them to others.

OUTSTANDING customer service. "Live Chat" representatives answered my many questions with much patience. This was my very first online order of prescription glasses EVER and it came off without a hitch, essentially. A very small caveat. IF you are extremely fussy about a specific shade (color) of frames, it may not be an exact match between what is received and what is reflected on their web site's photo. One pair of reading glasses came in with needing a slight adjustment. Goggles4U is doing this at no charge for me.  I will be a repeat customer. Nice selection of frames at varying prices. I was also totally surprised to receive a hard case and polishing cloth with my orders which I didn't see mentioned.

Dr. White is a old-school but highly effective optometrist. While he may not have the latest equipment, his years of experience is great for keeping our family's eyes healthy. We have been using him for years and have received a number of glasses and contact lens from him as he sells those too to be a convenient and quot;one-stop shop.and quot; You do have to call him to see if your glasses are ready and he can be a bit slow on following-up, and I did get a pair of sunglasses once where one lens was darker than the other, but Dr. White not only took care of that, he did so immediately by using a local lab so I was out only a couple more days.

I finally booked a date and all went amazingly well . I was booked at 9am in the morning in his office . My husband came with me and picked me up 3h later . The procedure was smooth , under local anaesthesia . All the staff is also really nice and caring . Since the day of the intervention I saw him every month to have a look at my eyes . 4 month later my eyes are looking much younger and I'm very pleased with the result . He's a great Doctor and person .

It went very well. We were extremely pleased with him. He was extremely knowledgeable, and very thorough and comprehensive in explaining things. He was extremely patient and helpful in a difficult situation. They were very responsive in an urgent situation and very concerned about the emergency situation that we were in. We would definitely recommend them.

Eye exam was good with the eye doctor. Experience with the optician not so much. My husband picked out a set of frames only to be informed later that they were no longer available. The frames he did pick were flexon frames which are not adjustable b/c of the material they're made of, but the optician failed to tell him that , and so the glasses he has fits loosely on his ears. also they were pushing for him to get an expensive set of lenses for sunglasses inserts for sunglasses that didn't justify the cost.

It went very well. I had lasik surgery done over 10 years ago; one for reading and one for distance, and they didn't come together. I had to have my right eye redone for distance and wore glasses for reading. My vision was getting really bad and I went to get a check up, and have to wear glasses for reading and glasses for distance. It makes me nuts, but he was thorough and explained whey I could not have progressive lenses made. Due to a brain tumor that I had (benign), my eyes would not come together and there was no other solution for me.
