Driveway Gate Installation reviews in Van Nuys

The garage door is only 3 years old and we had problems to close it for the last 2 weeks. My husband tried to fix it during the weekend and it was mission impossible. The technician from The Gate keeper arrived in the scheduled window frame. He was professional, personable and friendly. He explained to me what was wrong and what he did. In less than 25 minutes the garage door was properly working. I am planning to continue using this company on regular basis. Simply an excellent experience!!

Method fabricated a wrought iron 10 foot double door locking driveway gate. Matched color to adjacent house paint After agreeing on a price, I was told the gate would be ready within 7-10 days. Six days later the gate had been created and it was installed a day or two thereafter. In fact, it took much longer to receive the new locking handle and dead bolt which I ordered from an online supplier than it took Method to fabricate and install the gate. About 10 days after the installation I phoned the office to say that I had received the door knob & deadbolt, and the company owner arrived about half an hour later to install them. Bottom line: negotiated price was fair relative to the market, quality of fabrication, installation & overall service was excellent.

Eric exceeded my expectations. When my gate stopped working (part way open), I called at 8:30 p.m. to schedule for what I expected to be a day or two later. He told me he was coming off a job and would be right over. He was able to do some temporary repairs that very cold night (in the 30s) and was able to troubleshoot and fix the gate within the next 36 hours. No upselling. No B.S. Just good old fashioned hard work. I referred him to a friend and gave him a $20 tip as thanks for being so on top of it...

Everything went great. The workers showed up on time and got the job done. They even worked around my schedule since I could not be there when they actually installed the fence. I did have one simple question regarding the way something was left and have not received a call back from the couple of messages I left, but overall I was happy with the job and the fence looks great!!

I, and my daughter, have used Tony many, many times. Tony doesn't normally take on small jobs, but since I am his customer, he is willing to do so. Tony is very loyal to his customers, which I really appreciate. Francisco came out and fixed one of my garden windows, which involved the window not fitting properly and also fixed the broken crank handle on the window. Since he was standing near the wood gate, he noticed it was very hard to open and close and he fixed it without me even saying anything, at no cost to me. He also fixed a broken drawer in the kitchen. Fixed one of my French doors that I couldn't lock anymore, and again while standing there, noticed the adjoining French door the latch on top wasn't working, and he again just fixed it, with no cost to me. These are the small annoying problems homeowners always have, but don't always mention, since they are so small, and keep living with. It's so nice for somebody to come out and be so vigilant and aware, and just take care of the problem. Also had all of the wood trim on the house, and two high porch ceilings sanded and painted and many security doors. They did an excellent job and it looks wonderful. Again, Walter took it upon himself to paint additional areas, that were not in the quote, so that everything matched everywhere with new paint. You can't get service like this with any other company. I know, I used many people before Tony and was always disappointed. Tony and his wonderful crew never disappoint.

These guys are hands down the best! Called around 9am today and Avi was here by 10:30. He was very professional and did a quality job installing a new unit. And fast too..he was finished before noon. Price was reasonable and so far so good. Will be our go-to for garage needs and recommend!

Merlot Garage Doors and Gates staff arrived on-time as arranged, and thoroughly examined our motorized gate which was long past it's preferred maintenance schedule. They pointed out that in addition to the necessary regular maintenance required, two of the gate wheels were broken, and that the gate was dragging. (Likely the result of me accidently bumping the gate with my car in the past.) Merlot' staff performed all necessary work (inclusive of welding) in a quick and professional manner, and we are pleased with the result and the experience. Although I don't include the cost paid in my reviews, we believe that the charges were fair and reasonable for the work performed. We will utilize Merlot for future maintenance and would recommend them to others who require maintenance and/or repair of their motorized electric gates.

I needed repair work and touchpad locks put on my gates. I called Eddie - he came to the house quickly and gave me options for the locks as well as an estimate. We scheduled the work soon after. He and his crew came as agreed and did FANTASTIC work. He even came in UNDER budget. Huge thanks to Merlot Garage and Gates! Highly recommended.

Best of 5 quotes. Quick turnaround and communication was very easy. The prices are excellent because they are efficient with skilled management. I'm a single female and have appreciated working with David and his crew. Their honest and direct approach have made this a stress-free process, and I love my new gates! I even had an issue with electricity from my house, and they did extra work and replaced a battery at no additional charge. High integrity people who go above and beyond

Isaac's Ironworks did beautiful work. Before calling them, I reviewed their website, and saw an impressive array of work samples, in many styles, all constructed elegantly and professionally. I then called them, and spoke to the owner Isaac Yuhuda, who offered to meet me at my convenience: His shop was very close to our house. When we did meet, I found a gregarious, knowledgeable man who exuded enthusiasm and interest in our projects. We spent time together looking at various styles, materials and types of fencing and gates around my neighborhood, so he could get a sense of my taste, and the overall look of the homes on, and around our street. I wanted a slight curve to a fence, with a gate in the middle, to enclose a small patio, as well as a gate between the driveway and a walkway to the back of the house. He listened as I explained my design ideas, and understood them immediately. We spent time experimenting with the degree of the fence curve, given the two points the fence would bridge, and the space it was enclosing. For the gates, we originally thought we would go with a fairly traditional design of simple scrollwork over a metal backing for both doors. But, after a walk in West Hollywood one evening, we happened upon an iron door with a design we really liked, one that had an art deco look to it. I called Isaac to explain the desired change, and sent him a photo of the door. He was happy to do the changes, and came over the next day to show me a pencil sketch of the new design, that looked exactly like the door wed photographed. The work came out exactly as the design; kudos should also go to his associate Mynor who, I understand actually prepared the design and forged the iron. Isaac also offered suggestions for the fencing section of the patio, several options along the spectrum of full privacy to open railings. We decided on mesh gate panels that were black steel metal with small round "Swiss dot" perforations that allowed for some view of the street, but also some privacy. It is very pretty, and looks great with the gentle curve of the fence. People who come see our new place have specifically mentioned this gated fence as a favorite component of the newly built house. After realizing that the metal door to the walkway when closing made too loud a sound, we asked Isaac to install a hydraulic arm to control and slow the shutting of the gate, making it quieter. He immediately took care of it, sending his workmen over early one morning to install it. The additional charge was $200 (installed), that others who know such things told us was a fair price... The doors are primed, but for weather-proofing, will require a paint job. This was unexpected, but again, having never purchased something involving ironworks, we did not know to ask about this when the estimate was presented, though it clearly states 'black shop primer only.' Because we've never had experience with ironworks, I had no idea what they should cost, hence the 4- vs 5-'bubble' rating. Maybe we couldve found a contractor who wouldve done the work for less, but Isaac was recommend to us by our general contractor whose work we quickly came to trust, as he hired only skilled and pro subs. It seems to have been money well spent. Not only is the quality of the work excellent, but dealing with everyone at Isaac's has been a pleasure. They are extremely accommodating, friendly, fun, and KIND! Those may not be important characteristics to some people, but for us they are big pluses. It's stressful enough building or renovating a home, with money constantly going OUT, so it helps to work with understanding, professional and personable contractors. We highly recommend Isaac's Ironworks for any ironwork you may need, or have in mind.
