    At first she was fantastic. Sharon was referred by one of my closest friends who just raved about her. We had great initial conversations and then when I was ready to make the switch... Nothing. I must have left at least 5 messages plus 5 emails with none returned. It was like she just fell off the face of the earth. And it wasn't even tax season yet! Her office kept saying she was given the message. I finally just gave up and moved on. I was actually surprised to see her listed on here with such high marks until I saw other similar comments. Read closely people!

    Great firm to work with. Was introduced to these guys a couple years ago and I've been using them ever since. During my last visit, my tax guy filed my return after being on extension since March. When I met with them years ago the first time, they recommended incorporating my business if it continued to be successful. Sure enough, the time had come to do so- so he also incorporated my business during this last visit. They really know how to make the process of dealing with your taxes as painless as possible. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants to save as much of their hard earned money as possible.

    This experience cost me $3500. I have been using Robin for 14 years to do personal tax returns without incident. She is not a good communicator but has been very knowledgeable about tax stuff and up until this year I have been pleased with the results. In 2011 we discussed my opening a small business and she indicated no issue in doing the returns for both so I scheduled the appointment and showed up as usual. I paid $500 and she processed my personal return and then proceeded to do the corporate return which would not eFile for some reason, so she said to give her a week and she would address the issue and get back to me. I followed up a week later and got no response back. I followed up continually but not excessively right through the filing date of March 15 as the business is a corporation and got no information or explanation in return. In a frenzy I finally got her office assistant to respond to me in late April, without discussion or warning, she gave herself 1% interest in my company and filed partnership forms which meant I would not be getting the refund I was expecting. In early June, Both the IRS and the State sent me letters indicating that the wrong forms had been filed and that corporate forms needed to be filed. I forwarded those to Robin immediately and she promised to look into it. I again was left to leave messages both through email and phone. I wanted a copy of the corporate filing once it had been filed. In August I reached the end of my trust and endless unanswered messages and wrote an email to fire Robin formally. I then hired a CPA firm to correct the problems and prepare the corporate tax returns which cost $1400. I found out the business return should have been a schedule K to my personal return. I finally got corrected returns filed on Oct 1 and in November, I got a notice from the IRS that I owe $1635 in late fees. Ultimately, whatever refund I was hopping for, has been redirected into paying to have it done twice and in late fees. This whole fiasco could have been handled up front and swiftly saving my refund and her reputation if she had been able to actually communicate with me. I though 14 years of dedication would have earned me at least that. How wrong I was!!

    The lady on the phone refused to believe they were advertised on Angie's List. She rudely said they only make appointments if I have been referred by someone. I tried to explain what Angie's List was but she did not understand. I said I was sorry I called since they were not interested in getting new customers and hung up.

    I met with Sharon in August 2010 after finding Down to Earth on Angie's List.  She was full of information, lots of ideas for my business, and not in a hurry.  After a few days consideration, I decided to use them.  She seemed delighted.  In December 2010, I met with her again to discuss how to end the tax year.  Again, she was full of information and I quickly discovered that she wanted information from me that no other accountant had ever asked for.  It took awhile for me to gather it all, but she seemed satisfied, and gave me precise instructions on how to end the tax year.  I almost did it right, and for 2011, I will get it right.  Nevertheless, she managed to pull it all together.  Her staff was able to look up some stock information that I had lost years ago, and they got it all done and filed on time.  The price is right.  My  prior accountant charged me $1200.00 for a lot less.  I am more than satisfied.  She also recommended a bookkeeper for me who has turned out to be fast and economical and accurate.

    This was not a successful undertaking. I expected a professional who was conversant enough with my specialty to sit down & 'get to it'. What I witnessed was someone who was quite uncertain about how to set up QB for my profession, alot of 'hmming" and "hawiing", pondering, trying 'this' and that' while the clock ran, and causing me to lose confidence in her real level of experience with my type of business. I admit that I am a newbie to QB - hence the desire to hire someone to set it up right & show me how to use it. MBO's hourly rate was at the higher end of many others on A.L. but I was willing to pay it for the right person. Instead, knowing what little I did, I found myself having to point things out that she had overlooked & second guessing at times because she didn't seem to really know. It was very awkward & stressful. At the end of 4 hours not a single entry from my real accounts had been entered. I realized internally at that point that I should just pay - (yes, I was billed, and paid, the full amount by the clock - cut my losses & find someone else, after taking a breather. I have since found someone genuinely versed in the interior design business who is half the price & works the program without hesitation. If I felt that I had gotten my money's worth I would gladly give an 'A' but as both a consumer and service provider myself, I take the reports seriously. Otherwise, Angie's List might as well be the Yellow Pages.
