Handyman reviews in Valley Village

    EXCEL CONSTRUCTION LA
Excel Construction sent to our house Eyal who came over and set with us for a while in order to understand what we would like to have in the remodeling project at our house. Our remodeling project was to remodel the kitchen, family & Dining room areas including new coat of paint and few other tasks. After he understood what we wanted to do, he designed a simple draft so we will understand how and where he think to relocate some parts of the kitchen and after we approved it, he then went back to his office and designed a detailed computerized 3D. After the design and the price was approved by us, he then came over with his workers to do the remodeling job. Each one of the workers was polite & flexible. After the work was completely finished, Eyal sent back his workers to replace or fix some things that we had issues with. Our house was left clean during the entire remodeling. We received so many of great comments on our new remodeling and on our house in general. Thank you Eyal for the great work you did for us and for the awesome service!

    O'Malley Construction Co
Randy always followed through with his word, showed up on the day and time that he said he would. When the project was completed there were a few things that didn't come out as I preferred, and he came back on his own time without me having to call him repeatedly, and made the preferred adjustments as soon as he had an opening, which was several hours of work. There aren't very many contractors that would go that extra mile for their customers after the job and payment was completed.

    Sky Renovation
This company is Prime Home Remodeling dba as Sky Renovation and New Construction. Don't be fooled by the smiles and assuming good customer service....in the end, you will find out that this company; Owner Ian Levy, is rude with bully tendencies. They DO NOT provide a worksite foreman and only partially manage the work being done. I had to act as the foreman of my own project at almost $100,000....WHY!!! For that money, he should have had a site foreman daily and attention to the quality of the work being done. Instead every day I came home from work, sometimes during the day, I had to have mistakes and poor workmanship corrected. His workers smoke and throw cigarette butts around the property and often shortcut details. Make sure to take pictures of everything and every part of your project before you let them start any work because when you find something wrong, broken or unfinished your response will be, "Not my problem", "What do you want me to do", "it will cost you more money", "it was that way already". First Red Flag that I ignored because Ian came across as trustworthy was he offered a bid for the interior project solely based on what I wanted to be done and his visual oversight without inspection. He never looked at the existing wiring, only looked at the roof from the ground, didn't check subfloor conditions, didn't check for potential issues and only waited to find them before complaining about the extra cost to him to fix. Demanded final payment with threats of liens and lawyers before even checking to ensure the permits were finalized by the city. So if you want smiles, lies and unskilled workers that you could find at Home Depot working on your property, go ahead and hire them. I'm still scared my roof could come crashing down, the house to catch fire from the wiring work they did and now my central air heater has a disconnected air tube I have to have someone come and fix. I have exposed nails now rusted hanging down below the eaves around the garage and house from the roofing job which Ian told me, "What do you want me to do", "Stop being cheap and fix your house and cover the eaves". Now I have lots of headaches to deal with to make the repairs due to poor workmanship. The sub-contracted roof installers damaged the attic insulation following the roof demolish; now which has to be completely replaced along with central heating ducts that were damaged. Waiting for State Contractors Board to finish their assessment of my complaint and the BBB shows an "F" rating for Sky Renovation & New Construction. Also waiting for their Bond company to finish their investigation into my claim for damages as documented in photos, text messages, emails, and contracts. Complete nightmare. Following this review post the company owner EYAL IAN LEVI sent me several insulting and harassing text messages....Also following this review: He sent his business partner; Tomas to my home to comfort me about my reviews and how it was costing them business attempting to get me to remove them.

    Chatsworth Home Improvements & Repairs
Good communication and friendly attitude. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and speed at which tasks were completed. One job was not completed (repair or replace weather stripping) but only because he was not sure of the materials needed. Agreed to come back at no additional charge to address it after he could confirm the best way to fix it.

    Chatsworth Home Improvements & Repairs
I paid for the special, and they called me right away to do the work, but we were unable to do it at that time. The coupon was to expire six months later. When I tried to contact them later in the year, before the expiration, I never got a return call or an explanation. No work was ever done, and I never heard from them

    American Handy Work
Chuck is great! He's completely prompt and reliable and really knows his stuff. We have really old, weird door hardware and hinges that needed to be repaired (ideally) or replaced (if necessary, but not my first choice). He took a quick look -- where others had turned them over and over before declaring it couldn't be done-- and had them fixed and reinstalled within a couple of hours. He's a handyman in the truest sense of the word-- he thinks his way around the corners of problems and just figures out how to get the job done without fanfare. We also described to him the kind of baking sheet storage we wanted, and he built it using the materials on hand. Same with the closet vent! He's not the cheapest, but he's so fast and knowledgeable that you shouldn't let that deter you from hiring him. It all evens out, and the job will be done right. Bonus! His truck storage is truly amazing. If your job requires a part that he has, you'll get a chance to see 8 ft long drawers filled with every kind of thingamabob you can imagine.

    TONY G'S HANDYMAN SERVICE
Tony was very responsive to my inquiry, came by the very next day, exactly when he said he would. He repaired the doorbell quickly and also did a fantastic job on the front pipe, which is working perfectly. He was quick and courteous and did a great job.

Chuck was awesome.  My kitchen faucet broke this morning, so I called Chuck and he came over a couple hours later.  He assessed the situation, and we looked at faucets together at home depot online.  After we picked one, he ran up to home depot to pick it up, then came right back to install it.  He was quick, efficient, and friendly, and the price was very fair.  I will absolutely call Chuck in the future.

    Chris Vernon Construction
It went well.  Chris showed up on time.  We went over the work that needed to be done.  Some of the repairs required a little analysis about ways to fix the problem.  He discussed his approach with us and explained the benefits and potential issues with his approach.  We agreed on how to handle each repair.  He then acquired the materials and worked efficiently, quietly and carefully to get the work done.

    Mitchell D. Stein, Artisan Handyman
It went great. The best thing was that there were no surprises. I had a list, we agreed upon a price for the things I needed, and he assured me he would get it done in a 2-day period. He was on time, worked fast, and was detail-oriented.  He was also good-natured and was flexible when I asked for a few extra things, and I thought his price was fair.
