    Superior Home Remodeling
We found out about Superior Home Remodeling through our neighbors. We were impressed by how highly our neighbors spoke of them and were eager to find out what they were all about. Isaac and his son came over and laid out the pros and cons of how/when our projects should take place in the most efficient and timely manner. We did the roof as a cool roof, paint as cool life paint, along with double pane windows. All energy efficient products that will not only save us money monthly, but look amazing from the front yard. It is a world of difference going from what they called single pane windows to double pane windows. The roof, windows and paint, combined, have made our home SO much more comfortable in terms of sound and temperature! Now we dont feel like we are sitting in a Sauna in the summertime or an igloo in the winter. Above being a knowledgeable individual, Isaac has been a pleasure to work with and most importantly, a man of his word. We must say, we were extremely and pleasantly surprised by how flawless the project, from start to finish, was managed and completed. Now we understand why they are called SUPERIOR Home Remodeling!

    Magic Hammer Development
I hate giving bad reviews, but I felt I should. I hired Magic Hammer aka LA Best Builder (which is just one contractor Sean) to replace my crumbling asphalt driveway and patio with cement, to upgrade my electrical system, to put up a ready-made gazebo and to renovate my garage (no bathroom/kitchen, just a basic renovation of the existing structure into a playroom). Issues: 1) Lack of communication I kept having to ask what to expect, when the workmen would be at my house, the status of various parts of the job sometimes Id get a response, sometimes I wouldnt, 2) His guys would show up sporadically and sometimes took a full week or more off, 3) Sean wasnt on-site or reachable for some major cement work that was going awry. It was a Saturday (Shabbat), and I respect that he is observant, but he should not have had that work done when he couldnt oversee it or be reached. He also made excuses for the things that went wrong and tried to push it back on me (he was trying to save me money). He ultimately fixed one issue months later after much arguing and much pressing. It will be interesting to see if my patio floods during a heavy rain. Also, his cement guys pushed through my side fence and broke it open my neighbor saw them do it. Sean said the fence was in poor shape anyway and would eventually have had to be replaced (yes, EVENTUALLY, but it wasnt a priority). He never acknowledged that his guys did this (again, he wasnt even on-site when they were there). I had to have someone else come in to replace the fence and Sean did nothing to cover any of the cost. 3) I requested side windows on the garage and he told me he could put in 18 custom ones, but I wanted bigger ones which he said he couldnt do (why would custom windows only come in one size?). I looked online myself and saw that Lowes had 30 and 36 casement windows and asked what the biggest size was that would fit in that area. He said 36 so I said I wanted to go with those (it was confirmed in a text AND he built the spaces for the 36 windows). Three weeks later, 30 windows arrived and he blamed me for the error and tried to get me to take those, saying it wasnt much of a difference. I said Id rather wait and have him order the 36 windows. He got upset and said hed lose money. Since they were from Lowes, I assured him they could be returned (and they were). It was going to take another 3 weeks for the 36 to arrive, and I told him I didnt want the rest of the job to stall there were several things that could be completed within that time and the job was already taking forever. He said they couldnt continue with the other things because it would create dust. I told him that it seemed that he could put up plastic to alleviate that problem, plus there were several things that needed to get done outside. The job was delayed and delayed. I had to push and push for things to get done. 4) I told him I wanted a digital keypad for the garage door but that the one I saw at Home Depot wouldnt fit. He said he had one in mind, but then realized last minute that it wouldnt fit and gave up. I looked online myself and easily found a few that would work and ordered one. He simply wasnt solution-oriented. 5) His men re-hung my gate improperly after the cement work was completed and I asked him continuously to have them rehang it. I even went and bought the hinges myself (different kinds that his men could choose from). He made a big issue that it would be a lot more work, but after more cajoling, he finally had his guys do it. 6) I was going to have cabinets from Ikea installed along the back of the garage. His guys were supposed to pick them up at the store, bring them to my home and install them (this was all in the contract). Long story short, the job was taking so long that I ordered them online and had them delivered (at an extra cost). He had his guys install them and ended up charging me $800 to install cabinets that Ikea wouldve installed for $450. By that time it was too late for me to halt this as they had already installed the cabinets. Sean made up some excuse saying that there were more cabinets than planned and it was a lot of extra work. This was completely untrue. I emailed him the original documentation and contract showing 2 units which had 6 cabinets each. I ended up buying 2 units of 4 cabinets each less cabinets than we discussed. In the end, it was a terrible and stressful experience working with Sean. He was full of excuses, rude, argumentative and I now realize that he was overpriced. Im disgusted by the entire experience. Its hard to believe it all went so smoothly and pleasantly for all these other reviewers.

    Do It Right Construction
Incredible. On budget and under time. Professional work done impeccably and the contractor was very responsive. From beginning to end (and even now, after it's completed) if we had any problem or concern or question, he answered within 24 hours. He is also very calm and even handed so there was never any stress. Everything could be handled. He hires great people who are meticulous.

    Brush Roll & Beyond
First off, John was able to come over on a Saturday, walk around the house and give us a thorough explanation of what needed to be done. He talked with us about paint quality and gave a few options. After we received quotes from 2 other painters, John wrote up a formal quote. Simon was great with matching the existing stucco texture, and he an his helpers did a excellent painting job.

    Brush Roll & Beyond
Fantastic and thorough job, beautiful outcome!! John, the owner/contractor of Brush, Roll & Beyond first sold us with his highly detailed assessment of the services necessary to paint our sprawling ranch home, which had a myriad of deferred maintenance issues. Although we had several estimates, he was the only person who walked the entire property, carefully looking at every detail such as dry rot, termite damage, loose window glazing, broken gutters, etc., and explaining the issues which caused our severe dry rot in the first place. He spent at least an hour (or more) during his free estimate checking out every nook and cranny of the outside of our home, including going up on the roof to assess issues out of sight and explaining what would need to be done just to prep the home properly for painting. No one else we called (including Angie's List service people) took that kind of time with that level of detail to determine the scope of work, leading us to believe that we could be charged extra for items discovered after their initial estimates. John's hand-written estimate took a bit longer than the others, but spelled out all the details and time frame necessary, even itemizing certain extras we were considering such as painting our iron fence and front doors, so we could include them if we chose during the process. It was important to us that the work not be subcontracted, and John's team has been with him for many, many years, (some more than 20) which was another huge plus. Once we agreed to move forward, the work began right away. Our job was a large one, taking close to a month to complete due to the amount of prep necessary. The team arrived on time, every morning like clockwork, even on Saturdays! If they were early, they respectfully sat in their truck out front being careful to not bother us until it was time to work. They were friendly and kind (even when my young son who is on the autism spectrum was yelling at them to stop touching our house!) and very clean, always leaving the work area tidy for the next day. John himself was on site every day, checking the work and answering questions. He also was available by phone or text anytime, which was great as I have experienced the MIA contractor on more than one occasion. We weren't sure about the colors we wanted and John worked with us, tweaking my original choices, offering suggestions and allowing us to sample several combinations over a period of days to find just the right colors for our home's unique style. When we decided to paint our rusty, faded and chipped wrought iron fence, John suggested we go with a gloss black. I wasn't sure if I would like it but decided to trust him and WOW, did it make a huge difference, making it look brand new and sophisticated, elevating the look of the whole property. They even painted all 6 of our exterior porch lights and freestanding mailbox to match at no additional cost! Ultimately, the house turned out beautiful, looking much cleaner, fresher and more modern, with respect for its traditional style roots. Our paint/repair job wasn't cheap, but fairly priced for the amount of work, and in an area of multi-million dollar homes, well worth it! The work was high quality and significantly improved our home's value. We have received several compliments from neighbors. We will definitely be calling John at Brush Roll & Beyond for more home improvements in the future!

    American Home Improvement Inc
I used Shlomo at American home improvement and his team of professionals for an addition and the master bathroom remodeling. My entire experience with all the people that were involved in that remodeling was excellent and productive! I worked with Shlomo and his crew hand by hand and we met and talked on a daily basis in regards to the progress of the project. His extra attention to all the details even the smallest ones made us very proud at him and mainly on our right decision on finding him and the company he works for. Originally, we had our concept and vision on what we want to get but Shlomo highlighted them and implement most of them into the project which brought our dream to a complete success. We added approximately 350 sf/ft to the house which supposed to be a guest room with a small bathroom. After many thoughts and meetings with Shlomo, we decided to have it as an entertainment space including the installation of a wet bar and a built in refrigerator. As far as the bathroom: we included a closed bathroom that included a shower and toilet with frameless door. We absolutely recommend Shlomo and anyone from the people that was involved in our project to anyone who looking or thinking for any type of home improvement project at their house.

    Nexxus Remodeling Inc
We initially interviewed 7 prospective contractors and obtained 4 bids before deciding on Nexxus. The owner's (Tony Panterra) pitch was that although his bid would probably be higher than the other contractor's, his work was of a higher quality and that he used only the best products. Nexxus, however, did not provide a written estimate, which raised a red flag. However, we ultimately decided to go with Nexxus because it had numerous and uniformly excellent reviews on Angies List from consumers who actually used Nexxus' services (Nexxus did receive negative reviews from persons who thought its bids were too high). The other contractors we considered had a few positive reviews, but nothing close to the long history of strong reviews that Nexxus had. Moreover, although Nexxus' bid was higher than the other contractors, it was not excessively so. More importantly the work was, for the most part, excellent. In particular, the installation of the wood siding was impeccable. Ipe is a notoriously hard wood and difficult to work with. But the corners were sharp and straight with little or no gaps. The iron gates also turned out well although some of the solder joints could have been a little cleaner. Tony, the owner, was very responsive to any changes or requests we made during the course of the project and was on-site at least 1-2 per week to check on the progress of the job. Francisco, the project manager, was present almost every day and made sure we were aware of how the job was proceeding and sought our input on various aspects of the job and made sure we were satisfied before he proceeded with the work. Tony estimated the job would take approximately 4 weeks and he would have been right on target but for several days of rain that halted work. All in all, we were very satisfied with Nexxus' work, would use them again, and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in remodeling their house.

    Finesse Remodeling & Consulting Inc
I wanted to remodel my kitchen, bath and laundry area and was extremely intimidated about the process and had heard so many horror stories from friends about their remodel projects so I knew I needed the right contractor for my project. I interviewed 5 different people and from the beginning knew Avi and Finesse were the right fit for me. He was on the ball and very thorough and exact in describing the process and the steps we needed to take. Everything was in order and the next process in the project flowed smoothly every step of the way. Avi was also the only contractor to mention Lead & Asbestos abatement which turned up lead in our kitchen sink and bathroom tiles that were being ripped out. He wanted to make sure it was taken care of properly because I have a child, 2 dogs and an elderly mother I take care or and their safety was at the forefront of the demo. Honestly, Avi and his team care about their clients and this is a huge plus in going with Finesse Remodeling. Along with the fact that they have a huge commitment to making the project smooth and exactly what the client wants. Avi came in on time and on budget, from beginning to end it was a smooth process. This is all because attention to detail, schedule and the construction process are laid out from day one to the final completion. How many people can brag about a care free remodel? I for one can!!! Avi and his crew were always neat, kind and respectful. They also showed up on time and worked very hard all week. And Joyce in the office is a real doll and always kept me informed on schedule and what was happening during the week. I have a beautiful new Kitchen & Bath that I'm in love with and that I get compliments on constantly! I couldn't have asked for a better job to have been done.

    Kitchen & Bathroom Experts
These guys totally saved my home from total ruin. I knew things were bad, but not nearly as bad as when I had a pro take a look and explain how badly the neglected situation had become. Luckily, they offered some major discounts on a lot of their materials which really helped me out a ton with the budget. My roof needed to be completely redone, and the kitchen was a wreck, but I knew I hired the right crew to work with - and they made sure that the project was done as smoothly as possible. Not only that but my house looks great again, brand new shingles on the roof, the brand new paint job, and new cabinets for the kitchen really make the place feel completely brand new!
