    Sky Renovation
This company is Prime Home Remodeling dba as Sky Renovation and New Construction. Don't be fooled by the smiles and assuming good customer service....in the end, you will find out that this company; Owner Ian Levy, is rude with bully tendencies. They DO NOT provide a worksite foreman and only partially manage the work being done. I had to act as the foreman of my own project at almost $100,000....WHY!!! For that money, he should have had a site foreman daily and attention to the quality of the work being done. Instead every day I came home from work, sometimes during the day, I had to have mistakes and poor workmanship corrected. His workers smoke and throw cigarette butts around the property and often shortcut details. Make sure to take pictures of everything and every part of your project before you let them start any work because when you find something wrong, broken or unfinished your response will be, "Not my problem", "What do you want me to do", "it will cost you more money", "it was that way already". First Red Flag that I ignored because Ian came across as trustworthy was he offered a bid for the interior project solely based on what I wanted to be done and his visual oversight without inspection. He never looked at the existing wiring, only looked at the roof from the ground, didn't check subfloor conditions, didn't check for potential issues and only waited to find them before complaining about the extra cost to him to fix. Demanded final payment with threats of liens and lawyers before even checking to ensure the permits were finalized by the city. So if you want smiles, lies and unskilled workers that you could find at Home Depot working on your property, go ahead and hire them. I'm still scared my roof could come crashing down, the house to catch fire from the wiring work they did and now my central air heater has a disconnected air tube I have to have someone come and fix. I have exposed nails now rusted hanging down below the eaves around the garage and house from the roofing job which Ian told me, "What do you want me to do", "Stop being cheap and fix your house and cover the eaves". Now I have lots of headaches to deal with to make the repairs due to poor workmanship. The sub-contracted roof installers damaged the attic insulation following the roof demolish; now which has to be completely replaced along with central heating ducts that were damaged. Waiting for State Contractors Board to finish their assessment of my complaint and the BBB shows an "F" rating for Sky Renovation & New Construction. Also waiting for their Bond company to finish their investigation into my claim for damages as documented in photos, text messages, emails, and contracts. Complete nightmare. Following this review post the company owner EYAL IAN LEVI sent me several insulting and harassing text messages....Also following this review: He sent his business partner; Tomas to my home to comfort me about my reviews and how it was costing them business attempting to get me to remove them.

Ron did an amazing job AGAIN!! Re-did my new house and put in a beautiful stone block fence. Finished the entire project under budget and in less time than we thought. Do yourself a favor and go with Ron, he cares about his customers and it shows in the work. All he does is deliver.

    Nexxus Remodeling Inc
We initially interviewed 7 prospective contractors and obtained 4 bids before deciding on Nexxus. The owner's (Tony Panterra) pitch was that although his bid would probably be higher than the other contractor's, his work was of a higher quality and that he used only the best products. Nexxus, however, did not provide a written estimate, which raised a red flag. However, we ultimately decided to go with Nexxus because it had numerous and uniformly excellent reviews on Angies List from consumers who actually used Nexxus' services (Nexxus did receive negative reviews from persons who thought its bids were too high). The other contractors we considered had a few positive reviews, but nothing close to the long history of strong reviews that Nexxus had. Moreover, although Nexxus' bid was higher than the other contractors, it was not excessively so. More importantly the work was, for the most part, excellent. In particular, the installation of the wood siding was impeccable. Ipe is a notoriously hard wood and difficult to work with. But the corners were sharp and straight with little or no gaps. The iron gates also turned out well although some of the solder joints could have been a little cleaner. Tony, the owner, was very responsive to any changes or requests we made during the course of the project and was on-site at least 1-2 per week to check on the progress of the job. Francisco, the project manager, was present almost every day and made sure we were aware of how the job was proceeding and sought our input on various aspects of the job and made sure we were satisfied before he proceeded with the work. Tony estimated the job would take approximately 4 weeks and he would have been right on target but for several days of rain that halted work. All in all, we were very satisfied with Nexxus' work, would use them again, and would highly recommend them to anyone interested in remodeling their house.

    Green Universe Inc.
I called Ozzie to do all the work at our new house because we knew we could trust him to do what he said and to do an excellent job at a fair price. We first selected Ozzie from a group of potential contractors we had vetted as being the most reliable based on the Better Business Bureau reports. This was before we had convenient more comprehensive resources like Angie's list. We started with a complete kitchen remodel with custom cabinets which was $60,000. After that first remodel we knew we had found a contractor we could trust. He did what he said, when he said and he did it right. Ozzie was always reachable by phone/text/email and he was responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. And if problems occurred (remodeling always has surprises) Ozzie saw to it that things were done right and didn't add a penny to our contract price. The only thing that cost more of course was when WE made changes. Over the next few years we ended up remodeling all the bathrooms, putting new wood floors, rewiring the entire house (it had very old cloth insulated wires), a new roof, adding a bathroom including walk in closets. So when we had to move somewhat unexpectedly from our old house we knew exactly who to call. So far almost all of the planned work inside our new house has been done. The last stage is building the guest house. The plans have been drawn up and are being certified by the architect/engineer. We will be getting the permits so we can begin soon. I can update how that goes, but honestly I've already had so much work done by Ozzie that there's no doubt it will all go well. I attached a few photos, but I never seem to take photos after the remodeling. I always take photos during the remodeling, but it's the after photos that show what a space becomes. I'm going to try to find the photos of our old house after remodel photos and upload those.

    ANAHEIM DOOR
From start to finish this was a fantastic experience!  Victor came and went through options with me and then held my hand as I agonized over which door to get and nailing down the details (this took weeks).  Then his manager Chris stepped in and expedited the custom order for me so I could have it installed before we left on vacation.  The installers were fabulous as well.  Super professional, answered all my questions and walked me through anything I needed to know.
Definitely an A+ experience from start to finish and I LOVE my new door!

    Jerry's Doors & Windows

Jere and his team were fantastic. I had a 8ft sliding French door that had rotted and just couldn't be saved. Jerry had a custom vinyl 2 tone sliding door made for me that looks and feels amazing. The inside is white and the outside is a chocolate brown. It took a little longer to get than usual (6 weeks) but Jere gave me warning and I was in no rush so I didn't mind. It was well worth the wait. Jere installed it in a day and did a great job but the way the surrounding stucco outside and drywall/plaster inside looked, it was a little intimidating. Jere doesn't do the dressing after the install and I knew this but he gave me the name of a plaster/stucco guy he says he used at his own house. I figured OK he must be good. Turns out he was better than good, he was amazing. I can't get over how clean the job looks now. Masael and his son are masters of stucco and plaster. The new sliding door looks like it has always been there except now it looks brand new. You can't see where the old stucco ended and the new started, it runs right up to the edge of the door and makes such a smooth transition, it's just perfect. Excellent job by Jere and the team, I'm actually thinking about replacing a couple more doors. I highly recommend them.

    Fine Builders Inc
Fine builders were recommended to me from friends that used their services. Nir the owner worked with my friends on their project similar to ours and they were very happy from the results. I did meet a few contractors but Nir was patient, he understood our needs, he kept our budget, we met 4 times before moving forward just to be sure everything is clear to both sided, it is a big project for me and my husband. The project just started. we are remodeling our entire house completely from renovating the kitchen, removing walls, master bathrooms, painting, replacing our windows and a few doors, changing the floors, replacing our roof, upgrading our electrical panel.
I will update my review after the company will finish our project, we are very excited and we are very happy we chose Fine Builders to renovate our home.

    Supreme Remodeling Inc
Me and my wife had been saving money waiting for a house to go up for sale in North Hollywood (we had been targeting the area for a while but everything the realtor showed us wasn't up to snuff). We finally found a place right where we wanted but the house was in bad disrepair. After getting a few ideas on what it would cost to tear down what was there and build our dream home we decided to purchase the property. The first company that came out gave us a price of a little over $900,000 which seemed OK. Luckily my wife decided to check out a few other places and we ended up contacting Supreme. We met with Patrick (who is not only an amazing project manager but also one of the owners of the company) after explaining a few things he brought our cost down to $826,000 which needless to say made our eyes widen a little bit. After meeting with yet another 3 companies we still found Patrick to be the lowest and most experienced we'd talked to.

So we moved forward with the project it started in November of 2014 and should be finishing up next month (May 2015). We have been extremely happy with the speed and quality of the work being done. I was a little cautious due to the price difference since it was so much but so far the work has been going great, no delays and no surprise costs which was my biggest worry.

I check in with Patrick or his office daily and they are always super nice and helpful with letting me know whats going on with my project.
I can't wait to see what the final product looks like. I will keep you guys posted.

    Exodus Door & Window
I would strongly recommend using another company if you are looking to replace doors in your home. Over the past 5 years I have dealt with many companies regarding home improvement and working with Exodus was, unfortunately, the worst experience I've had to date.
My wife and I actually discovered Exodus on Angie's List and after doing some research we decided to go with them due to the many positive reviews. It not a surprise, however, to see that they have recently endured some very poor reviews.  We concur with the other negative reviews.  It seems Exodus has an MO of just letting things fall through the cracks and then offering up poor excuses as to why.  They seem to state 'well, with so many jobs, one is bound to fall through the cracks' and offer no solution.  Ultimately, they just go MIA and it takes weeks to get answers.  What ethics!
Initially the interaction started smoothly.  After contacting Exodus, Scott Larcomb swiftly came to our house to discuss our needs and promptly emailed us an estimate. While Scott was at our place my wife and I kind of felt like his sales pitch was a bit sterile and typical. Scott is a really nice guy but we couldnt help but get the vibe that we were just another job for Exodus. No real guidance or proper customer service. I guess we were just expecting him to share some options, etc.. But instead we got a book and some pictures of nice doors.
We received a bid about 2 days after the meeting and we felt that the price was a little steep. I called Scott to talk to him about it and he willingly cut the budget a bit. However, we were still skeptical about the high cost of purchasing and installing 8 doors. My brother is an architect in NY and he thought I was nuts to pay such a high price. Essentially, we decided to go with them mostly due to the warranty policy (which we will get to later in the review).  We also had Exodus paint the doors as well. Almost all of them were split colors on either side. We were charged a premium for that service.
The process of ordering the doors, painting them and receiving the locks and hardware took forever.  We understood that it was going to take a while (it took a minute for us to establish all the colors) but the communication was a nightmare. Every step of the way my wife and I just felt nothing but apathy coming from them.
Although the workers were very nice and professional, and the doors looked great, there were snafus throughout the entire installation process.   Three of the doors weren't split painted,  the wrong screen door was ordered for the front of the house, and the back security doors were the cheapest pieces of crap we had ever seen - you could've cut through them with a butter knife! After they installed one of the back security doors we politely asked them to take it down (we ordered real security doors from another company).  After the installation and the corrections were handled (aside from the from front door lock),  we were pretty happy with the final result.   Upon careful inspection, however, my wife and I discovered that the front door jam wasn't replaced. I thought it was ridiculous that we had two new beautiful doors in the front of our house but the door jam was 40 years old. I called Scott to ask him about it and he said door jams are an extra expense.  I was furious. How the h*** am I supposed to know a new door jam isn't included?  I wouldnt have had a problem putting money towards a new door jam if he wouldve brought it to my attention when he was at the house providing a bid. This concluded my notion that Scott was NOT thorough at our first meeting.  In essence, he wanted to charge us over $750 to replace the jam. We are going with another company called CCC to do it for $460.
Scott was not always accessible to us.  He relied on his 2nd in command, Rick, to do most of the trouble shooting.  Scott dropped by to check on everything on the second day and we were very happy that Scott came by but he was literally there for 15-20 minutes then split. We never saw him again.
Ultimately, when I spoke to Scott about how unhappy we were with the service he responded by saying "There were a lot of moving parts with this job. Things are going to go wrong". Sorry, but that's not what we were paying for. We expect excellence and proper customer service. We felt we received neither.  About two months after the project was complete we discovered that the front door lock was faulty.  My wife and I coudn't lock the door knob without two hands and sometimes using pliers. It was definitely dysfunctional. As a matter of fact, right after the lock was installed on day 2 I felt as if the mechanism was broken. I brought it up to all of the workers including Rick and he convinced me that it was my imagination and the lock was working perfectly. Yeah right?
I contacted Scott about the problem on November 4 2014. (Like I was saying earlier, one of the main reasons why I went with Exodus was the warranty policy.) I justified paying the high price of the job with the notion of not having to worry about something if it goes wrong.   After constantly trying to contact everyone over at the company, Rick finally got back to me on Dec 5th. He told me the replacement lock would be in within days. On January 26th the lock finally came in (7 weeks later). When the serviceman came to install the new lock he discovered someone ordered the wrong part. Really? I was informed the replacement would be arriving in a week. Ha! Its been a month since that last visit and at this point NO ONE is returning my emails.  They have never returned to fix the lock.  THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! I sent Rick and Scott emails on Jan 19th and Feb 12th... NO RESPONSE!
Ultimately, I've decided to buy a brand new lock and eat the cost of the lock I purchased through Exodus.  I have completely concluded my business with Exodus.. Yeah, I feel like we got ripped off??. Fair warning.  Go elsewhere!
