I called Ozzie to do all the work at our new house because we knew we could trust him to do what he said and to do an excellent job at a fair price. We first selected Ozzie from a group of potential contractors we had vetted as being the most reliable based on the Better Business Bureau reports. This was before we had convenient more comprehensive resources like Angie's list. We started with a complete kitchen remodel with custom cabinets which was $60,000. After that first remodel we knew we had found a contractor we could trust. He did what he said, when he said and he did it right. Ozzie was always reachable by phone/text/email and he was responsive to any questions or concerns that we had. And if problems occurred (remodeling always has surprises) Ozzie saw to it that things were done right and didn't add a penny to our contract price. The only thing that cost more of course was when WE made changes. Over the next few years we ended up remodeling all the bathrooms, putting new wood floors, rewiring the entire house (it had very old cloth insulated wires), a new roof, adding a bathroom including walk in closets. So when we had to move somewhat unexpectedly from our old house we knew exactly who to call. So far almost all of the planned work inside our new house has been done. The last stage is building the guest house. The plans have been drawn up and are being certified by the architect/engineer. We will be getting the permits so we can begin soon. I can update how that goes, but honestly I've already had so much work done by Ozzie that there's no doubt it will all go well. I attached a few photos, but I never seem to take photos after the remodeling. I always take photos during the remodeling, but it's the after photos that show what a space becomes. I'm going to try to find the photos of our old house after remodel photos and upload those.

    Supreme Remodeling Inc
Me and my wife had been saving money waiting for a house to go up for sale in North Hollywood (we had been targeting the area for a while but everything the realtor showed us wasn't up to snuff). We finally found a place right where we wanted but the house was in bad disrepair. After getting a few ideas on what it would cost to tear down what was there and build our dream home we decided to purchase the property. The first company that came out gave us a price of a little over $900,000 which seemed OK. Luckily my wife decided to check out a few other places and we ended up contacting Supreme. We met with Patrick (who is not only an amazing project manager but also one of the owners of the company) after explaining a few things he brought our cost down to $826,000 which needless to say made our eyes widen a little bit. After meeting with yet another 3 companies we still found Patrick to be the lowest and most experienced we'd talked to.

So we moved forward with the project it started in November of 2014 and should be finishing up next month (May 2015). We have been extremely happy with the speed and quality of the work being done. I was a little cautious due to the price difference since it was so much but so far the work has been going great, no delays and no surprise costs which was my biggest worry.

I check in with Patrick or his office daily and they are always super nice and helpful with letting me know whats going on with my project.
I can't wait to see what the final product looks like. I will keep you guys posted.

    Jeff Miller Masonry
Jeff is a great guy, and his workers did a terrific job. When he came over to do the estimate, I asked him about an issue in the backyard that I was interested in having him handle as well...and he offered an alternative to masonry that was cheaper and a better fit - effectively losing that (far more expensive) part of the job, which won me over immediately. There were some hiccups getting scheduled; because the job was a very small one, I got postponed a couple of times (albeit by Jeff's very professional and friendly wife, who manages the office). But it was worth the wait; they did an excellent job for a very reasonable price. They were fast, informative, they cleaned up perfectly, etc. I will ABSOLUTELY use them again!

    I-Build Home Renovations
Ron did a wonderful job. The quality and completeness of his work is outstanding. Ron was unfailingly friendly and helpful and found some badly-damaged spots that I had not come across. After Ron finished with removing dry-rot-damaged wood and expertly repaired the damage he primed all the newly installed wood. I will call on Ron for any work I may need in the future. His work is first-rate.

    Nexxus Remodeling Inc
I called Nexxus because this was a critical area with regard to the value of the home.  I went to the top of Angie's list and got the best.  I knew it was going to be expensive, but needed this area (which was literally about to fall apart) to be perfect.  I called Tony Panterra of Nexxus and he came promptly to give me a quote.  It was double what I was thought it would cost.  But I tend to favor the better contractors becasue, in the end, I am a person who cares about quality and am willing to pay for good work.
All of Tony's staff are high quality craftsmen.  They took a bannister design that I sketched up and executed it flawlessly.  High quality materials,  fasteners and a solid process...open communication.  Adjustments to scope of work are handled in a friendly and open-minded manner.Tony brought me to a stone and masonry facility that had a dizzying selection of stones to choose from.  He was very hands-on throughout the process and very passionate about his work.
Everything went to schedule...no surprises...no drama...just excellent work.  All work was done with attention to tidiness.  Staff arrived on time each day.  Wordwork was nicely fitted, sanded, painted.  The stonework was artfully selected and placed.  Tony even came back when I had already paid for the job and had his staff touch up an area that I had become concerned about.
I would not hesitate to call Tony for future work.

    Eco Landscape
Eco Landscaping made my wife happy! And, as the saying goes, "Ain't momma happy, ain't nobody happy". They did everything from design to completion. They listened to our (my wife's) vision for our yard, and they came up with a plan to fit that vision. We had a big yard and a tight budget, and Brad and Jen were able to find ways to make the design work for us. The work was completed quickly and correctly, and they kept us in the loop so we could make the small decisions that come up when doing any type of construction. Most important to me was the fact that they remained within the budget that we gave them. Brad and Jen take pride in their work. In fact, Brad has been over several times since the project was finished just to make sure that all of our plants (and trees and lawn) are thriving.  In the months since the landscaping was completed, a week hasn't gone by where my wife hasn't said, "I love our yard". Now momma's happy, and so am I.

    Construction Masters
Moshe's company did the most amazing job in tearing out and replacing my old linoleum floor (and putting in a new sub-floor) with new ceramic tiles throughout my kitchen, back porch, and 1/2 bathroom. The tiles were of the style I think is called "river rock" and have odd patterns on them. He was thoughtful in placing them so that the tiles looked properly placed and not one particular pattern was repeated too close to one another. He made the place where they joined the kitchen cabinets look absolutely seamless and even put in two new wood thresholds in the kitchen doorways where they joined the house's hardwood floor. He also cut and installed the granite pattern of our choice in the back porch (around the service sink, which he also installed), as well as the kitchen counters. For the splash, instead of using solid granite, we used small 2 x 2 ceramic tiles which matched the floor pattern and ran them up all the way to where the wall meets the soffit part of the ceiling. It also goes up the wall behind the stovetop to where it meets the cabinetry. It looks FABULOUS! Moshe also noticed that the edges of the stone where it edges the wall were rough and he didn't want anyone injured or any clothes torn by the rough edges, so he suggested (and did) that the same color grout be used to edge the rough edge. It looks great and isn't noticeable! His crew were the same every day, they were prompt, clean-looking, and cleaned up the area after their daily work. The work was top-notch -- no quickie job on anything to cut corners! Moshe was professional, he listened to what I wanted, his estimate was prompt and he was able to begin the job a few days after we accepted his estimate. There were no surprises or additional costs and I would recommend him to anyone wanting any work done!

    California Pools
I can't speak for California Pools as a whole. In general, be very careful with pool companies. I've done two and both times it was horrific. As far as this office and RICHARD SWIFT...run don't walk! Mr. Swift at one point actually confronted me and told me to go out to the street to fight him. They made mistakes all the time. Very rarely was anyone around to supervise all the different subs and when I caught them doing something wrong, I was told to stay out of it...that I was too picky. Had to take them finally to the State License Board who forced them to make the necessary corrections. I fear anything going wrong with the pool and having them do warranty work. I've since heard horror stories from neighbors regarding this man and the pools he put in for them.
