    Filthy Grill
The grill was old and filthy and they made it better. They were prompt. I was able to use my grill as it was clean. I wasn't totally impressed with them as the service was just ok. I thought they were going to replace some of my broken knobs and stuff, I feel like they just kind of cleaned it. I was not there when they were there and maybe my grill is to old for parts but when I spoke to them over the phone they were gonna do that, so I was bummed. It took them about three weeks to come out as they are pretty busy.

    Supreme Remodeling Inc
Me and my wife had been saving money waiting for a house to go up for sale in North Hollywood (we had been targeting the area for a while but everything the realtor showed us wasn't up to snuff). We finally found a place right where we wanted but the house was in bad disrepair. After getting a few ideas on what it would cost to tear down what was there and build our dream home we decided to purchase the property. The first company that came out gave us a price of a little over $900,000 which seemed OK. Luckily my wife decided to check out a few other places and we ended up contacting Supreme. We met with Patrick (who is not only an amazing project manager but also one of the owners of the company) after explaining a few things he brought our cost down to $826,000 which needless to say made our eyes widen a little bit. After meeting with yet another 3 companies we still found Patrick to be the lowest and most experienced we'd talked to.

So we moved forward with the project it started in November of 2014 and should be finishing up next month (May 2015). We have been extremely happy with the speed and quality of the work being done. I was a little cautious due to the price difference since it was so much but so far the work has been going great, no delays and no surprise costs which was my biggest worry.

I check in with Patrick or his office daily and they are always super nice and helpful with letting me know whats going on with my project.
I can't wait to see what the final product looks like. I will keep you guys posted.

Fiddler On The Roof Chimney Service
They are responsive and on time. The quality of service was very good. They made clear about what the procedure was and it was clean, they didn't leave a mess, very straightforward and gave me options about how to proceed with. Overall it was a good experience and I would use them again.

    Boston Brick & Stone, Inc

After cleaning the chimney they reported the chimney needed repairs adding up to $3,475.00.  I said I would get a 2nd opinion & let them know.  By end of November I was contacted by B.B. & S. to say they would do it for $3,000. but only If I agreed by Nov 26.

Subsequently I had another company, which is also contracted with Angie's, do repairs based on B. B. & S report.  They did all for $2,400.  With a 10 yr warranty.

I am so lucky to have found Micky of Supreme Remodeling to handle a small, important rebuild in our living room after a small fire incident in our home. Mickey and his team were very communicative and helpful during the whole project.  They have removed the old burned carpet and installed a new shiny hardwood floor. They have painted the living room and build us a beautiful fireplace.
I want to thank Mickey for being so patient with us, and answering our endless questions before we sign the deal and especially after the project started and we had questions about specific things that came up.
I also want to thank the workers who did a great job and for being clean and neat and for showing up on time.

    US Home Developers Inc
I was very happy with the work they did. I had to demo my fireplace that was very large and required quite a bit of knowledge to take down without damaging anything in my house. I would use again and I would recommend these contractors to anyone who is looking to do any remodeling or demo construction. Communication skills were excellent and so was there cleanup at the job site.

    Filthy Grill
Filthy Grill did an excellent job cleaning my grill. I hired them to do a deep detail cleaning of my 3 year old grill. I had never had this done so I didn't know what to expect. They also checked for any maintenance issues but found nothing that needed to be repaired. When they were finshed my stainless steel propane powered gas grill was gleaming, almost like new.  Tom sent out a two man crew and they showed up clean and professional looking. They were very polite and went about the work. They left no mess and were very mindful of my deck furniiture, etc. as well as the surrounding areas that they performed the work. I would hire them again the next time my grill needs a detail, or if I need any repairs. it was a breath of fresh air to hire someone and be 100% satisfied.  This appears to be a truly honest company.

This was my first time purchasing wood like this, normally I just go to the supermarket and buy those $7 bundles. However, I decided to give it a try. I left a message and Jose promptly called me back. He came the same day and delivered 1/2 a cord of beautiful mixed wood. They stacked them neatly and even left about 20 extra pieces just because they were left in the truck. We had our first fire with the wood last night and it burned very nicely. The pieces are at least twice as big as the flimsy ones I was getting at the supermarket. I definitely think that this will save us money in firewood over the next 6 months.

As far as the price; we paid $150 for 1/2 a cord and $15 for the stacking.

    Nexxus Remodeling Inc
When I returned from a two-year deployment to Afghanistan I discovered that I had a leak in my kitchen ceiling and thought that there was a problem with my roof. I logged on to Angie's List and started calling various places that were listed for roof repair and was told repeatedly that I would have to wait for an appointment between three days and two weeks. When I reached Tony Panterra of Nexxus Remodeling he said, "I'll be right over." And he was. While he could have told me that I had a leak in my roof and sold me an expensive re-roofing job, instead he did some investigation and discovered that there was actually a minor leak in some piping from the air conditioning unit. I was so impressed with his honesty that I knew exactly what to do as I began to notice a myriad of other projects that were necessary after two years of neglect. First was the floors. The floors throughout the house were scratched and worn from my four dogs. In addition, two of the rooms had been carpeted and the carpeting was now stained and worn. Tony arranged for his flooring crew to come in and install hardwood flooring in the two previously-carpeted rooms to match the flooring throughout the rest of the house. They worked with me to find the stain and finish that I wanted, even blending several different colors to reach the right look for me. They even cheerfully re-did a couple of areas that were inadvertently damaged by some movers. When I told Tony that I wanted a wall unit for my office, he had his cabinetmakers come in to consult. They worked with me to draw up a plan for the unit and then built it off-site in less than a week. They brought it to the house on a truck and installed it in a day. Then they worked on painting it on the spot. The whole process took less than 10 days. The cabinet people also removed all of the cabinet facings in my kitchen and bathroom, took them away and refinished them in a new color, brought them back and reinstalled them, adding self-closing hardware to the cupboards and drawers. Nexxus's painters were fantastic, professional, friendly and helpful. One of the bathrooms proved to be problematic because of water stains on the walls and they cheerfully re-painted the the room several times, even using a special treatment on the walls to prevent the stains from bleeding through the new paint. It's beautiful. In my foyer I had a diamond-patterned stone floor. I wanted to approximately match the pattern on the face of the fireplace. Nexxus's tile expert came in and hand-cut dozens of the diamond-shaped tiles and installed them, making the fireplace into a work of art. The fireplace was so beautiful that I asked them to do the same thing for the patio outside my back door. The tile craftsman worked for almost a month every day, arriving early in the morning and leaving at the end of a long, hot day with a great deal accomplished. At the end of the process he also cleaned and re-finished the original tile, and cleaned the tile in my bathroom. I was having trouble keeping the dogs from digging up my garden. Tony had his iron-work people come to measure a part of my backyard and a week later they installed a beautiful wrought-iron fence to create a special area for the dogs. I am a naturally conservative and cautious person, especially when it comes to spending a lot of money. Contractors have such a bad reputation, and I felt that I had to be really careful when deciding to work with a particular company. After talking with Tony, however, and going through this experience, I realized that my idea of getting multiple estimates in the hopes of being able to pick the best value for the money was completely misguided. I was lucky that Tony was available when I started making phone calls. I don't know anything about construction, and I don't have any way to evaluate the reasonableness of any individual bid. For example, one company could give a really low estimate, but there was no way to know if the materials and workmanship would be of good quality. Or they could make promises they couldn't keep, leave before the job was finished, or make serious mistakes. Truly the only way to know whether you can trust a particular company is to get recommendations and look for ratings on Angie's List. But you can't figure it out from just a cursory look at the Angie's List ratings because there are a number of companies that have "A" ratings. You have to really look at the substance of the recommendations to figure out which company is the best. Looking at the evaluations for Nexxus, you see that many satisfied customers have written long, detailed recommendations for the company and there has been a great deal of repeat business, indicating that people re-hire Nexxus over and over again. To me, this is the best possible recommendation. And having used Nexxus for this project, I also realize that there is no way I would trust another company to work on my house. I think that it is unrealistic to think that you can make a decision about hiring a construction company based on the traditional practice of getting multiple bids. Getting more bids doesn't help you make a more logical choice, it just causes confusion. What helps is the information you get from really taking advantage of the information you can find on Angie's List. Tony Panterra and Nexxus Construction have the highest number of A ratings in several categories. That's how I knew I could rely upon them to do a good job. And they did.

    West Coast Chief Repair Inc
We just moved to LA and needed to hook up our gas grill to our gas line. A service man came out and took pictures of what he needed to do. He came back in a few days and didn't know what to do. He took more pictures and said he'd be back. When he didn't return in a week, we called again and another service man came out. "I take pictures" and he left, appearing a few days later, with no parts and the work was not completed. This scenario happened again at least twice with other service men, more pictures, and a lot of head scratching over the course of a month. The work was never completed. My husband's cousin visited us, said it was an easy task, and he would do it for us. A trip to the hardware store for $10 of parts, and about an hour later we were grilling burgers! No "I take pictures", no waiting, no head scratching, no $45 deposit. The grill is working like a charm, no thanks to West Coast. We called West Coast to resolve the matter. The phone staff is great at sales and reassuring you that "someone will call you". Well, guess what. No one ever does! The service men we encountered were good at taking pictures and procrastinating, but were unable to do the job. This is not rocket science. Our grill was connected to our gas line at our previous house, so reconnecting to a different line should not be a big deal! We called West Coast over and over. We have not heard from anyone, even though phone people told us we would be contacted to resolve the issue.
