    Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Grp
They really love their doctor. I would rate them very highly. It's a good doctor, their service is extremely good and personable. It is very comfortable to be with him. The only complaint I have is the parking lot, it is so dangerous. I believe it is not associated with them, but the parking lot is really dangerous there. It is designed so badly, two elderly people were hit there. The availability of the doctor has been no problem, all the appointments have been going quite well. Someone else will see them if necessary in an emergency.

The physician who saw me (Dr. LaRoe) was very helpful and communicated with me promptly by email when my blood work came back.

    CARMEL VALLEY PEDIATRICS
Dr. DeFreitas is an excellent pediatrician and has been seeing my child since birth. All the office staff members are quite personable and I have never had problems scheduling appointments, getting a phone consultation, having prescriptions called in, or with insurance billing. Wait times are generally very short. The office tracks information and measurements (e.g., height and weight) electronically so everything is easily accessible during visits.

They are really accommodating. So far, the doctors I have seen have been really good and knowledgeable. They take their time. The waiting room is really nice. They always show a movie for the kids. They are very clean. I have been there only a couple of times, but so far, they have been great. They got me in really quickly when I needed to, without even being seen before. They are awesome. I will continue to use their services in the future.

    Hanten, Dr. Karen L
Dr. Hanten is the pediatrician for my 2 girls. We've had one other pediatrician before her. On a scale of 1 -10 Dr Hanten is a 10+ whereas our other pediatrician was a 3- (on a good day). We didn't know how much we were missing before Dr. Hanten. She is intuitive and comunicates VERY well. She didn't ask the standard open-ended questions: How are things going? How's the baby doing? etc. She asked in-depth questions that forced me think about your response: How often is the baby feeding? How long are the feedings? etc. It may seem silly but my previous pedietrician had never asked me about feeding schedules, talked to me about formula (if I needed it), discussed MY diet and sleep patterns ,etc. WOW...I was impressed. Needless to say, after our 1st meeting with her in Dec 2006 she been our one and only pediatrician and we highly recommend her to anyone that will listen to us. She is great with my older daughter too. She engages her in the conversation versus asking me. When we had our "initial" exam with my 10-year old daughter she impressed me. She did a full body check to make sure that she didn't have any weird lumps or freckles, scars, or skin conditions. When she did the exam she said, "Mommy is here so it's okay for me to touch you like this (feeling down her neck/chest/back for lumps since I have cancer) but it's not okay for anyone else to do this especially if Mommy or Daddy isn't around." I was surprised and relieved to hear her say this. You tell me, do other pediatricians say this to their patients or do they just "molest" your child without telling them what they are doing and why they are doing it? On another note, she takes her time with each patient/family which is wonderful when you are recieving the attention but it can be frustrating when you are the one waiting. However, with that said, I am glad to wait (when I can) because I know that she is giving each of her patients' the individual attention you crave at a doctor's visit. You never feel rushed or unimportant at Alpine Pediatrics. If all doctors had her bedside manner and her level of commitment, the doctor's office wouldn't be such a bad place to visit.

    Madany, Dr. George
Dr. Mandany is absolutely amazing; I cannot imagine a healthcare provider with a more caring, calm attitude. He gives us exactly the information we need, takes the time to answer our questions, remembers our details out of the hundreds of children he sees in between, and always respects our rights as parents while giving the right information to make smart choices. He staff is great as well; we have not had a bad experience yet. We would never dream of taking our child to another doctor.

    Martinez, Dr. Aida
Something else that I really appreciated is that she is actually a mother.  I've talked to other people that have had Pediatricians where those physicians don't have children.  I think it's very difficult to relate to many aspects of being a parent and would definitely recommend any parent to use a Pediatrician that actually has children.

    Kaiser
I like her knowledge and personality. I like how she really listens to my daughter. The staff is warm, they are really good and wonderful. They are really good there. She tries to work around things to get my kids in if they really need to get in. My daughter was in the hospital for a month last year and the whole thing cost us 65 bucks. So, we just pay it right up front and we are done. We will use them in the future as long as my school district makes it affordable.

    Childrens Primary Care
Dr. Brion and Dr. Mendenhall are nothing short of wonderful! They work as a team, sharing the week since both have young children. Even though it's a busy office, they always take as much time as we need, whether on the phone or in person. When we've needed urgent care, we've seen other Dr.'s so we could be seen quickly and they were great as well. After hours care is great - two urgent care clinics are available on Saturday (Carmel Valley) and Sunday (Encinitas), as well as access to the Escondido Urgent Care office in the evening hours. Telephone consultations after hours are an essential benefit. Love this office and wouldn't change for anything.
