    With all the effusive praise, I was skeptical about hiring Joe Verdugo at Handyman Construction to fix and renovate my leaky master bath shower, fearing it was all just too good to be true. However, I needed the leak fixed, and his thoroughly patient examination of the problem during the initial estimate alleviated much of my reservation. He showed me his reasoned diagnosis, step by step, rather than just guessing as to the root cause of the leak. I came to find throughout our project that he is simply always that thorough. Unfortunately the house was built with several glaring faults, causing the project to be fraught with a number of delays. Throughout it all, Joe had an unceasingly upbeat attitude, friendly manner, and honest assessment about every step of the process. JV is a master of his craft, and it shows in his work on my shower. In addition, he kept me up to date with regard to every step of completion, surprise repair issues, and any unavoidable delays. I have yet to meet his equal in communication skills and willingness to adjust on the fly to unwanted surprises. I am delighted to have discovered a contractor with the integrity and pride of workmanship that JV demonstrated with his work in my home and like so many others, would not hesitate to recommend him to others or have him work on my home again.

    Todd's Total Home Repair
    It went great! Todd is a nice guy knowledgeable, affordable and prompt. Todd showed up on time, although I was not ready he was patient with me. Todd finished both tasks in a timely manner cleaned up and was out the door. I will call Todd first when I need work done

    NOT GOOD! Would not recommend this company! They are not CSLB licensed and the owner Johnnie advertisement is very deceiving. Website claims he is insured and bonded but it is only with a business license. Work is done fast but the quality of work is less than average and no one will return my calls, texts, letters. I'm leaving this up to the Better Business Bureau and the State of California now.

    I have a 14-year-old KitchenAid stand mixer that began leaking oil every time it was turned on.  KitchenAid customer service was unable to fix the problem, and no other local handyman or appliance services seemed willing to tackle the problem since it was just a tabletop appliance.  The handyman there admitted he had never worked on stand mixers before, but was willing to try to fix it.  I provided the new container of grease (I wasn't sure if they offered this as well and didn't want to take a chance that they'd need it halfway through the repair).  The mixer was fixed the next day and for $35.00 - far less than the $250 or more I'd be spending for a new mixer! This repair was performed approximately a year ago and the mixer has been running perfectly since.

    The workers were nice, but had a limited amount of time to complete the work. It's because of this that they didn't do a great job with the painting. I had them come back but am still seeing areas that weren't painted very well. They did a good job hanging the light and with the baseboard. My biggest problem with them is they never gave me an estimate. I didn't find out the total till I got the bill on my credit card. I was shocked at the cost to paint and do the other work. I asked several times about the cost and got vague replies, like $200 per room, plus cost of products. It's my own fault for not insisting on an estimate but one should have been given prior to work.

    Very good experience.  My whole house attic fan had begun to "clank" again and with another hot week coming up, I was really anxious to get someone that knew what they were looking at to take a look.  Rick called and made an appointment for 6 PM.  While he was slightly delayed, he called ahead and let me know that he was running late.  That is always much appreciated. 

    Anyway, he took a look and then in spite of the 90 degree heat, he braved our attic to make the repair.  Tightened the belt, and I am not sure what else, and then verified that it wasn't the bearings wearing out. The fan is now working better than it has for a while. 

    I appreciate the work and would recommend Rick Davis and Mr.G's Maintenance to anyone looking for some home maintenance help!

    Contacted to give a quote for a gate on my property. Instructed that we wanted rod iron, privacy feature and it had to be up to code because of the pool. He stated he would go by the house and measure and would be back on Monday to put up the gate. Monday worked for me because I was off. However the next day I received a call while at work stating he had put the gate in and wanted $898. Reluctantly paid him over the phone- first mistake. A while later I got a call from home telling me the gate was loose and scrubbing the concrete. When I got home it was in fact leaning, scrubbing and had a few extra installation holes as well as a missing pole top. Contacted A+ and he said he would be by to fix it. He came again while I was not home sawed off a bolt that was catching the fence and placed a screw  into my stucco. Again was contacted about my dis-satisfaction and was told he would order some after market parts to stabilize the fence and produce the privacy feature which was also missing. Two weeks went by with no contact so he was phoned and we were told the parts had not come in but he would check and give us a call. Again two weeks and no call. Phoned and was told the parts came in but were wrong and he would follow up. It was not until I placed a dispute claim on the payment that I received a call from him. However by this point the latch and one hinge had fallen off the gate which by the way was aluminum. None of the work was worth the $900 I paid. He then after sending several text messages came to my house while I was on the way out and I described all of the issues. He stated that it was not about the money but his reputation. I assured him that I would not write any negative comments online about him. This I held up until I was recently contacted by my bank stating that he would get his money because he filed a claim that he had been attempting to contact me but was unable. Bottom Line.... dishonest, lacks integrity, does not follow through, and is WAY over priced. Buyer beware. I now have a gate not up to code and is being held up by giant zip ties. I have pics that I was hoping to post online as well but do not see

    Mr G's maintenance service was awesome! I definitely will make him my go to guy for my home maintenance needs! He and his partner took their time and didn't rush the jobs, they were friendly, calm, exercised safety, and were thorough.
    The sconces that were hung in my dining room next to an oil painting are perfectly aligned and look beautiful!
    What a pair of super nice guys. They came equipped, and jumped right into the tasks I asked them to do and I am super happy with what they did.

    The project was challenging due to the location and nature of how the pipes were installed by the builder.  In the end,everything was repaired and the house returned to its pre-leak condition.
