Window Replacement reviews in Torrance

Our experience with the salesperson was similar to reviews by several others here. I was trying to find out which company we talked to in Southern California because we have moved to the Bay Area and want the same service here. My husband and I wanted to make sure we didnt call the company we had spoke to in So Cal. Renewal by Anderson was instantly recognizable from your negative reviews. They would not make an appointment with me, although I manage the household finances, without my husband present. The salesman arrived at our home on time, and made a lengthily presentation about their product, which did look good. However, he would only give us a verbal quote (very high), refused to give us a written quote unless we signed a contract immediately, with no time to talk it over, or get quotes from other companies. He was very pleasant until we told him we would not sign a contract until we had time to talk it over in private. At that point, he packed up his samples, was quite rude, and couldnt get out the door quickly enough. The policies of the company are unacceptable, although the salesmans conduct was on him. Rude, and unprofessional. WE WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO OUR FRIENDS OR COLLEAGUES.

    Home 2 Renovate, Inc.
Excellent job. Joey Wafer came to my house and we went over what I wanted done, and he gave me a clear picture of their company and their preferred vendor for replacement windows. I took about 1 week to look at other company's and other products, settled on Home 2 Renovate. The windows openings where measured, the windows built and delivered on time. The installation crew headed Han was fantastic. They showed up right on schedule and the job was completed within about 2 hours. All very professional and a very nice product. Very happy with job, product and over all price.

    Progressive Insulation & Windows
Sales rep was knowledgeable and had a window example to show and brochure. Proposal was more detailed then other companies. Crew came a little late but knew what they were doing and worked fast. They did a great job of preparation and window installation. They removed old windows and cleaned up everything and demo'ed windows.

We were in a tough position having started a remodel with a contractor that we had to terminate. We had been looking for several months for another contractor. We sought out Lou based on Angies list reviews versus a General Contractor. Lous operation is as a construction company and relies mostly on his own crew. His crew is great to work with. As other reviews have attested they are prompt, clean, respectful and do a full days work. They clean up at the end of the day and set a high bar that other contractors dont meet. Lou was coming in on a project that had already started having had drywall up. As part of starting conditions we had to pay for the exploration and redoing several areas. I questioned the necessity of some of the rework, but that was the condition to have Lou take on our project. The electrical from the previous contractor had to be redone, but even with that we did not pass the final electrical inspections and we had more costs at the end. Windows and doors schedules were all very long, (I think it is an industry issue). Lou had promised a quick turn around on 2 windows if we ordered a standard window, but the delivery ended up taking as long as if we had ordered custom. Lous communication style is mostly emails. The routine is to speak with the foreman and he presents issues to Lou. We found this inefficient. I had an intense professional schedule during the time frame of our remodel with Lou and his insistence on email impacted many work hours for me. On numerous occasions, a short phone call with an email confirmation could have eliminated back and forth emails. While Lou does this to have a record of communication, he still missed confirmation, and specification that I had spent the time to craft in email. Several caused financial and schedule impacts to our project. Some of our initial designs glossed over how corners or materials would complete. Lou and his crew were great in figuring out these transitions. Lou stands behind his work, which is a plus. He will rework an area that is not correct. However in a few instances if our initial direction had been followed, reworking would have been unnecessary. As other reviews have stated he comes back to fix minor issues that occur after the project has completed. ( Circuit breaker warranty, and cracked tiles, etc). We had several warranty issues with Kohler during the project and Lou did not charge us for the labor to replace the warranty product. We ended up supplying most of the finish material ourselves. He provided the construction materials. While Lou puts an exclusion in his contracts about the match of a transition from existing to new construction you would be hard pressed to pick them out in our completed project. Matching the texture in both stucco and drywall is almost seamless. We had a cutting edge master bath design. Lous foreman for our project was detailed and instrumental in the tile layout, and were very pleased with the finished product. Lou went to bat for us on several issues we had with the inspector because of the master bath we had designed and ultimately prevailed. Lou supplied several custom cabinets (Master bath and laundry room). We found them to be adequate, and the cabinet maker stands behind them, but in the master bath the cabinets had to be removed and trimmed down 2 inches. They also ended up not being level, therefore the countertop is subsequently not level. In contrast, for our kitchen we had already sourced semi custom cabinets and as far as overall quality, we prefer the cabinets we had sourced for the kitchen. Lou saved our project for which we are very grateful and we wholeheartedly recommend Stone Age. It does come with a price but youll be happy with the crew and the results

    Deco Construction
Fred and Ali met with us at the house and we discussed the project. We did not have a clear plan as to what we wanted to do but both father and son had some great advice and suggestions. By the end of our first meeting, we had a pretty clear plan and knew we could trust Deco with our project. The work began promptly, Fred or Ali were constantly visiting the job site, following up with our many requests and changes, and making sure we were kept up to date. As the work progressed we were more and more excited about our new home. The owners are knowlagable, the workers are courteous and skilled. Over all the experience was great and we would deffinetly use and recommend Deco.

SoCal Window Door and Floor - Fendley Construction
Todd and his crew were punctual and did a thorough job removing and cleaning the window frame. They also checked to see if there was wood rot because one of the windows had been leaking (thankfully, the wood and drywall were okay). And in a timely fashion they installed the new windows. They also did excellent wood work, making the front exterior of our home look like new. We also appreciated them painting the wood before the rains came. I would hire Todd and his crew again.

Great experience with Chandler's. Communication with the office was excellent and A+ for Blake and his crew. Roof, gutters, new fascia, and skylight look great. The house is getting complements from the neighbors. Thanks for the great work.

    American Vision Windows
Great Job! My husband and I are very pleased with the results. We had 4 windows and a sliding door installed in our 2 bedroom condo. When it's 90 degree outside our home is in the 70's because of our new windows. Not only are they beautiful but practical. The price was very reasonable too. We initially met with Amir, who was such a pleasure to work with! He was very passionate about what he does and demonstrated integrity too. There was no surprises but everything was done within the give time frame at the cost we were quoted for. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for beautiful, reasonable priced, efficient windows!
