Torrance Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Reviews
Day 1, -
Day 2- We brought in an outside electrician (not from
Day 3 and 4- The drywall expert came and patched over 30 holes (most created by prior electrical work and/or preexisting behind the cabinets. Once again, on time and highly professional. Meticulous in his work, he made sure the little stuff was taken care.
Day 6 and 7- Painters came, on time, and they not only painted the kitchen, but adjoining wall we wanted and two bedrooms that we had added on to our deal.
Day 9- The cabinet builders arrived, on time and did what we thought was impossible. They put together and installed the new cabinets in under one day. If you had seen the amount of boxes, you'd understand why we thought this was not possible. They looked fantastic!!
Day 11- The professional from the fabrication Co arrived to measure for countertops, we had already picked out the granite we wanted and this gentlemen measured and worked with us on making sure all the details were as we wanted from edging to how things came together. We have a lot of funky areas due to the old configuration and he helped normalize many of those.
Day 17- Countertops arrive! They are gorgeous. The installers came on time and worked throughout the day placing making them fairly seemless despite the amount of different cuts we ordered.
Throughout the process,
While he had some other larger jobs in the works, he treated us and ours as just as important. He and his team really seemed to care about their work and helping us achieve our dream kitchen in this place on the very limited budget we outlined. Despite greater complexity on some items,
I would use
The work requires a minimum of two days. As near as I recall, on Monday they came out to make detailed templates (an hour or so). The counters and shower panels were created in their factory on Tuesday. We had a plumber come out Tuesday to disconnect both sinks and take off all the trim in the shower. They returned on Wednesday to do the install. This was an all day job, the shower is a LOT of work and fine tuning. Walls aren't straight and therefore some things aren't perfect but everything is caulked at the end and it looks incredibly nice. The plumber came back on Thursday to reconnect. After that we started the process for the new shower doors.
The two installers (father and son) were very nice. They don't wear uniforms and are very casually dressed. This makes sense as they need to work with the bonding epoxy and it gets on their clothes. They used drop cloths extensively to protect our carpets and floors. In general they did a good job but in the days following we did find a couple of spots where epoxy had dried on. Luckily we could scrape it off without damaging anything. I would suggest you do a very thorough inspection before they leave. The only other negative is they used the wrong type of screws when installing the strainer plate in the shower. One screw was stainless the other wasn't and started rusting immediately and I had to replace it.
Overall, I had a bit of sticker shock with the price. but I am extremely happy with the end result. They do an excellent job of making the templates and getting things to align very closely despite the inconsistencies in the walls.
We contacted all four contractors who subsequently gave us bids on our kitchen/living room remodel. Of all four contractors
We received bids from all four contractors.
As with any major construction project, we had several times where we wanted to make changes or additions to the design. In every case
proved to be less than his estimate.
Before the kitchen project was completed we asked
Now that the whole job is done we are more than pleased that we had the good fortune of selecting
felt his proposal was well itemized with helpful estimate for materials.
STARTING THE PROJECT
Unfortunately the project was delayed by 2 - 3 weeks right off the gate due to their other deployed projects and unresolved procurement issues. It was disappointing as we had counted on
THE CREW & QUALITY OF EXECUTION
The project went another 2 weeks beyond the original date (excluding the 2-wk late start).
COST As mentioned,
ANGIE’S LIST DISCOUNT, NOT
We presented Angie’s List coupon in the beginning of the project but was told it was a mistake and would not be honored. Even at review time, coupons are still listed under

all the work I needed to have done. He informed me that the people who will do the work work for his company.
I was somewhat suspicious of the company when I received several phone calls before the visit asking what it was we wanted to buy given that we had already supplied our credit card number and been charged for the 3 D design.
On the day of the visit to our home I received another call asking what it was we wanted to purchase and then another asking where our home was which was disturbing in that I had provided all that info several times both on-line and on the phone.
When their representative came to our home he did a good job of making design suggestions which were definitely of some value. He had a computer program on his laptop computer which provided a 3D sketch of how our kitchen would look with his proposed remodel. This sketch remained on his computer.
He was very sketchy with his costing and when I asked about specific expenses he said it would all be included without offering any detail. Whenever I asked about the cost of alternatives he would just say that none of them made any difference as they could and would do anything I asked about with not impact on his rough estimate.
When he left we were to visit their remote showroom where we were to meet with other designers who would finalize the design and have us sign a contract for the remodel. We had nothing to show for his visit other than a rough estimate and a design sketch on his computer of which we received no copy.
At the conclusion of the visit I was very suspicious of this company and decided to not proceed with them. I subsequently found several reviews confirming my suspicions which were written by people who had done business with this company.
The owner said they'd see me and my husband and I told him that my husband would not be present. He insisted that both owners had to be present and I reaffirmed that my husband would not be there. At that point the owner became very rude and told me that I couldn't have a quote then and he slammed the phone down, hanging up on me. He was VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL.
I have been warned about this. If a contractor insists that both owners be present for an initial quote, the contractor intends this as a high pressure sale. They intend to get a signed contract before they leave. Also, a home-owner should beware of such shoddy practices as selling off the job to the cheapest sub-contractors and a low-ball quote that they keep adding costs onto.
I would never, ever, sign a contract during an initial quote meeting. I'm an adult and I don't need my husband present to make a decision. He and I are a team and he trusts me to handle things like this. When the time comes to sign a contract, he'll be there.
