Hvac Repair reviews in Toluca Lake

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I received five estimates on my dual system. Three of the five estimates told me I had to redo EVERYTHING. Wayne told me that was completely unnecessary. Working with Wayne and his guys is like working with an old school company, one that has principles, impeccable promise and follow through, reliable response time and exceptional results. By the same token, the company was forward-thinking and innovative with ways to handle our system.

  • It went perfectly well! JW Heating and Air, Inc sent an email with the name and photo of the technician who would be servicing my issue, Mark B. He arrived and went straight to work. I'm in a condo, and we have a number of unmarked AC units on the roof. He had to do a bit of detective work to locate mine. Once he did, he was quick to find the issue, which was basically dust clogging the vents. He had me stick my head in to see what he was seeing. He cleaned it up and showed me what it looked like clean. He advised me on good maintenance, and we were done. Quick, thorough and easy.

  • I had no trouble making contact with the company, nor with making an appointment with Denise, who was quite lovely on the phone. The trouble came when the repair person arrived. Eugene was friendly enough, but didn't provide an estimate for services. It took all of 25 minutes from the time he walked through the front door to the time he said, "That will be $389." All our online research told us the very most we should be paying for a replaced capacitor was $200. We were shocked by the repair person's price, especially since the part itself maybe cost $60. He said that if we weren't going to pay the $389, he could remove the new capacitor. We agreed on that course of action. So he took out the new capacitor and left our a/c the way he found it - broken. He then told us we owed $125 for the visit, and that we had been told that by the person who made the appointment (on the phone). Let me be perfectly clear here - no one told me the service call fee, not on the phone and not online. The repair person again said that I had been told on the phone what the service call fee would be, meaning he was basically calling me a liar. I am used to dealing with service personnel and with service providers. I am certainly not accustomed to being taken to the cleaners by companies found on Angie's List. This was a new experience and not a good one.
I have no idea how this will turn out. I honestly don't. But I do know I cannot trust or respect this company.

  • I recently downsized from a two bed/two bath condo to one half the size. This ordinary, 650 SF, 45-year-old condo needed a bit of TLC. I reached out to Angie's List for six referrals, which I narrowed down to three. I made appointments with each contractor, Gino Henn of Imperial Remodeling being the first one. Gino and I walked through each area of the condo. As I pointed out my likes/dislikes of the existing "decor," Gino took notes and suggested what he would do if hired for the project. He showed me photos of his past work and credentials, impressive no doubt. For the kitchen remodel, I knew it wasn't going to be cheap. I wanted my dream kitchen and had to put my faith, trust (and money) into Gino's hands. I reluctantly decided to cancel the other two appointments and handed Gino my house keys and a deposit.  Was I crazy for not getting at least a second estimate? Four weeks later, no, I wasn't crazy. Gino was true to his word. I have my dream kitchen and more.

Gino and his crew worked quickly with minimal disturbance to the other condo residents. The job was completed a day before I was scheduled to move in. Gino and I kept in touch mostly by text, but he was always responsive and stayed on top of things. We worked together on lights, paint colors, tile, granite, faucets and fixtures. He seemed to understand my design style without me having to show him what I liked. Almost every sample he suggested was one I would've picked on my own.

At first I was nervous about this financial undertaking, whether or not I made the right decision. As the job progressed, Gino would text me photos of the kitchen, lighting, or something else that had been completed. Gino would say, "Don't worry, everything for you." There are so many extra things he did "just because." He did an amazing tile backsplash that continued into the kitchen window? very stylish and unique? or the night he drove in evening rush hour traffic to pick up an oversized medicine cabinet that wouldn't fit in my car? helping me shop for faucets via text as I was in the hardware store alone, completely clueless on what to buy? modifying an outdated air conditioning compartment that didn't pass home inspection? finding the perfect heater/light for a very small bathroom. Gino did everything I asked to make my little condo functional, livable, and most importantly, home.

There were a few hiccups along the way but nothing that couldn't be worked around. Honestly, I suppose I could've paid less? gotten a second or third estimate? I'm cringing at how much money I spent? but would I have gotten the same quality and service? Maybe, maybe not. Gino's customers come first, and he's not happy unless they are. This customer is very happy. Thank you, Gino and Imperial for a job very well done.

  • Mark arrived right on time. He was extremely polite and very helpful in explaining our problems. He had the parts to repair the unit with him and we were enjoying cool air within minutes. There cost to repair was extremely reasonable compared to our previous service company. They have a new and happy customer. Thank you Mark!

  • Couldn't have found a better team. Being a former apprentice in this line of work, I know just enough to get me in trouble and plenty more not to have the wool pulled over my eyes. I got a total of 4 bids and Cal Climate was by far the best value. One bid was even significantly cheaper but I'm my experience you get what you pay for. Bob (the owner) did the business end and his brother lead the installation. The time from us accepting the estimate to the installation dates was a little long but not unexpected from a family owned/operated outfit. Before calling anyone, I had already personally dismantled and diagnosed the problem with our unit. This was the ace up my sleeve before dealing with any vendors - I didn't exactly let on that I knew what the problem already was. Job was the only one to not only get it right but explain it in a way that was both knowledgeable and accessible. These guys know their stuff and charge what they are worth - which is every penny we're dashing on our A/C bill with our new and much much quieter unit. Can't rave enough about this experience.

  • They were wonderful. Can't say enough good things about them. We paid for a deal, they came out, looked over everything and determined that it was a blown fuse that was causing the problems. They didn't charge us extra for the part which was so nice of them. On top of that they could have easily tried to sell us a whole new AC system but were very honest, efficient and kind. We have been recommending them to all our friends. Can't say enough good things about these guys!

  • Purchased a Big Deal from Angie's . I've used Cal climate before for the same service and have been happy both times they have come out. I would highly recommend them professional and didn't try to upsell on anything .

  • They are excellent. I've been using them for years They are punctual, responsive and professional. They get the job done and they are reasonably priced. Any time there has been a problem they have worked it out and I haven't had any problems.
