  • I was given an ultimatum of time and place for the PICK-UP of my car. The driver a Mr Wen from United Auto Trans either did not speak english or was not particularly literate, so, there was no conversation about location or time. When I told him neither time or location would work, he suggested I "get freind" for the pickup. Being new to the town I made it clear I had no such "friend" in town particularly one who could wait in the street for the 3 hour window given to me. The car was so dirty I couldn't even begin to check for damage(Luckily after a wash it was clear there was not). I am not a man who likes being given ultimatums particularly when I purchase an item or service this expensive

  • The first car I bought from Miller Infiniti was a new 93 Infiniti G20. I owned it for 16 years and it was still on the road the last time I checked. Miller was the only one to service it except for one time in Marin County. When I got the car I received the deal of a lifetime: free oil changes for life. They never went back on the deal. I always got a free loaner when I needed it, and the same treatment as if I was paying. Now, I have my second car with them, an 09 Infiniti G37. The free oil changes are gone and the service is a bit less personal, but they still do a good job. Last winter I got stuck outside Big Pine, CA in the dark, in freezing weather. I got the car towed to them and they took care of things quickly. My only complaint would be with the car itself. Unlike my G20 which was like a luxury VW in terms of reliability, the G37 is quirky. For all the lights and bells and whistles on the dash, there is no indicator light for and quot;total computer failure.and quot; This problem results in your car coming to a DEAD stop. Not cool. But, Miller reset the computer for free, something I think is actually pretty expensive to do. I think it was under warranty.

  • I have been going to Tilley's for repairs since I was 16. I am now 60. They are a great group of guys who will always be fair with you. They know cars and have worked on every car in our family: '63 Buick Invicta station wagon, Ford Econoline Van, 69 VW Bug, Chevette, 72 Pinto, various Buick Century's, Datsuns, 91 Infinity G20 and my 09 Infinity G37. They have a handle on it all. They have also gotten me out of several mechanical jams in my lifetime of car ownership! Can't say enough good things about them.

  • SAAB-specific garages are scarce in my neighborhood so I opted to drive 30 miles to Alfred's Swedish Auto Tech based on:
    1. their reputation in the SAAB forums
    2. their courteousness, friendliness, and willingness to make a guestimate on the cost on my initial phone consultation
    3. and they were the closest to my house.
I got there early in the morning and there were two mechanics that jumped right in and began expertly diagnosing my car.
They spotted the problem right away and gave me an estimate on the cost to repair. They started working on the car immediately and they kept finding things wrong or broken on the car. I am a very skeptical person -- and I have a fair amount of shade-tree-mechanic skills -- so I asked them to show me exactly what the problems were that they were finding. Everything checked out -- I have complete confidence that they were NOT merely upselling me things I didn't need. They took the time to point out and explain everything they found wrong with the car and answer my questions.
I am a hard person to please and I think that honest repairmen are a very rare breed but so far, I am VERY please with the work these guys did. Yes, it did cost me a lot of money -- but I am convinced that it was well spent and they earned it.
Oh, AND they were willing to drive me 14 miles to my job while my car was being repaired. Thank you Alfred and crew!

  • SCAM ALERT! To say I'm furious is an understatement. My rage is equally divided between the ludicrous 'DETAIL' I received from Bros and the lack of vetting and response by Living Social, which sold me a 50% off voucher. Let's be clear, a detail that doesn't include dressing the interior leather, or shampooing the cloth upholstery, doesn't provide Armor-All, or similar cleaning agent for the dashboard, tires, bumpers, and which doesn't clean the headliner, or wax my convertible hardtop and remove blatant debris inside the liner is not a detail-- it's a wash and vacuum. After buying two coupons for my car and my wife's-- at the bargain rate of $160-- Bros showed up and explained that the detail I bought did not include a host of things, including shampooing the upholstery and carpet. When I said I wanted a refund I was told I couldn't-- that I should have read the fine print-- all sales were final (later we found out this was a lie). They then said they would help me and do the upholstery of both vehicles, as well as everything else for another $120-- so having to sell one of the cars and leaving town the next day I agreed. MISTAKE! Have you ever heard of two complete interior and exterior details being completed in under 2 1/2 hours? As I walked around the cars pointing out all the dirt-- they kept explaining why they didn't clean those specific items. We don't go inside glove compartments because some people keep valuables. We don't do the headliner because there is cardboard underneath and the stains will smear. We don't put Armor-All on tires because it's not good for the rubber. When I showed them all the dirt inside my convertible hardtop they apologized and spent all of two minutes cleaning it-- leaving it in the exact same condition. They didn't even clean the front license plate. All the vents were left dusty. The center console had something sticky on it-- they didn't even wipe it down.  In short-- a pathetic detail. Living Social has been non-responsive and evasive regarding our $280 for a job the equivalent of a $10 car wash.  I felt comfortable using this company because of Living Social-- which will not happen again.
The worst part was receiving a phone call from Bros addressing my complaint to Living Social. A 7:00AM aggressive confrontation calling me a liar. In the middle of my getting angry I was told, "You should know I am recording this conversation." This deceptive action is illegal. You can't record conversations without either announcing that fact up-front, or asking permission-- neither was executed. Just as astounding is Living Social's non response to my complaint regarding this matter. We will contact the head of the company directly and try to prevent other people from being scammed by this company. Overall, I can only describe this experience as one own the most bizarre I've ever had. If we fail to get Living Social to act decisively we will be reporting this scam to the authorities.

  • Fantastic service. I much a better experience here than I?ve had with other companies, their speediness and honesty was very much appreciated.  Other places always try to sell me on auto repairs that I most likely don?t need.  They did recommend that I replace my air filters, that?s understandable since I haven?t changed them in awhile.  I never got the feeling that I was being taken advantage of.  Will use again.

  • It is a heck of a lot cheaper then the Subaru dealer, I will tell you that, I haven't had any trouble with the car, I ask them when a good time for me to bring the car in and they say anytime between Tuesday and Saturday. I pick a day, I take it in and I wait for it because I don't have any transportation. They are a small shop, they are not big. It depends of what I have done how long it takes. What I try and do is have a friend of mine to follow me over and take me back when they say the car is done. That usually works pretty good. Otherwise I set and wait for it. I like them, I don't know how I can compare them. Its not like a Subaru , Dodge or Ford or one of the big companies that will take you in, get coffee donuts or provide a car. It is small and I like it better then going to a large dealer. I can talk to them, I can talk to the guys that will work on the car. Not to a business manager and have him write up the paper work then have him send it and I have no idea who works on the car. I have been going to them for five years but actually longer then that because I took my Honda over there. It was stolen. I got a Subaru and I took it over there too.

  • Mr. Moon is the best mechanic. We've been using him for several years. He is the most honest mechanic we've ever met. We found him because we had a problem with a transmission and they said that it was going to cost $3,000. I was complaining about it and someone said we should take it to Mr. Moon. We did and the cost was $300. He will tell us if things can wait or he will look at something and just tweak it like if the check engine light comes on and we think it is going to blow up. We have a Mercedes and Mercedes wanted $600 to replace it. Good old Mr. Moon said we could buy it down the street and he would put it in for nothing so the headlight cost $200. He is everything that we would want a mechanic to be. He is honest, fair and does great work. He is remarkable. We will use him forever until one of us dies.

  • Jack (co-owner, with son David) welcomed me as a new customer. The waiting area was kept clean and bright. Jack accepted a new customer coupon, even though it had recently expired. He answered some questions I had about servicing older cars and about ordering parts. I came in without an appointment, but work was still completed in a timely manner. Jack called to review needed repairs, again to give me a status report at the end of the day, and then once more when work was completed. The final cost was in line with the estimate. The work quality was fine, they are customer-oriented, they back their work with guarantees, and I will be returning to them.

  • Wonderful ! Wonderful ! They drive me home and were willing to pick me up when the job was done. All was ready when they said. I hadn't gone in for any service since Subaru Sherman Oaks tried to stick me for unneeded service. ( they insisted I needed a valve job at a cost of $3000. )
