    Karrasch, Dr. Charles C.
Have had ongoing treatment over last 3 months with increasingly strong acid applications for resistant plantar warts in areas not appropriate for surgery. Currently pausing treatment while awaiting next appointment due to sore development in diabetic foot. Gives excellent explanations for his treatment choices. Had 2 delayed appointments due to his travel by 1 week. Was able to be seen for initial appointment immediately.

It has been two years since the procedures to correct my ingrown toenail(s), and I have not had any problems since. My toenails continue to grow normally, but not into the toe. I have no pain any more and I am grateful to dr. Melhuish for taking care of my toes.

    Knedgen, Dr. Joseph F
As I mentioned above, I was impressed (and quite surprised) with my visit with Dr. Knegden. I essentially went into his office requesting to have surgery, but left convinced that there were other treatment options and that surgery might not be the best answer. You don't often get that kind of honesty! When I first called, I was able to get in to see Dr. Knegden within a week—a refreshing change from my previous podiatrist. He was me within 10 minutes of my appointment time (also a refreshing change—I once waited nearly an hour for my other doctor). When I told him I wanted to have surgery, he almost seemed alarmed. He explained the many issues with having surgery, and told me a number of things my other doctor had not told me. A big thing was that even WITH surgery, I probably would not be able to walk barefoot again without some discomfort. That was a big goal of mine, and his telling me this made a big difference. My other doctor HAD told me about other options, but made it sound as though eventually I would need surgery because the condition would get worse. But Dr. Knegden told me that my situation could actually get better, as I broke in my new orthotics, changed the kinds of shoes I wore in general, changed my lifestyle somewhat (no barefoot, even in the house), and if we could get the inflammation down. I was amazed at the difference in information. So, he gave me a cortisone injection for the inflammation, and I have followed his advice. And, after just a few weeks, Dr. Knegden has proven to be correct. I am already seeing a difference. I have less foot pain when I walk. I am thrilled! Dr. Knegden was honest and gave me complete information. I actually don't think my other doctor was necessarily being dishonest. I think he was probably just more and quot;old-schooland quot;—thinking that surgery is the best answer for everything. But I got the sense that Dr. Knegden feels that surgery is an intrusion into the body's and quot;natural order, and quot; and taking smaller, less-instrusive and permanent steps is the best way to go whenever possible. Kudos to him.

I developed a sharp pain near the front of my left foot. Over time it got worse and worse. Then I began to limp. Then it kept getting worser! Until a point where it was difficult to walk. As usual, I don't like to go to the doctor unless i am on y death bed and this seemed the breaking point. I went and saw Dr. Melhuish. She took X-rays of my foot and examined it very cautiously, noticing very carefully the places that she lightly touched which made me jump in pain, She diagnosed it as Metatarsalgia, a condition where the joint between the metatarsal and the phalanx bones, gets inflamed and it hurts like there's no tomorrow. She indicated that this may have happened because i am on my feet all the time, and i probably overdid something, which i believe it is true. She quickly fabricated a special splint for the affected foot, and provided me a pair of customized orthotics for me to wear in my shoes. She prescribed rest, ice, compresses, and elevation, to mitigate the pain. I left her office without a limp! OMG! This doctor is awesome!

    Bean, Dr. Jeffrey K
Dr. Jeffrey Bean operated on my foot.  It was a wonderful experience.  All went fine with billing and administration.  The effectiveness of his treatment was fine.

    Burgess, Dr. John F
Dr. Burgess is WONDERFUL. He gave me information that the previous two podiatrists did not give—about my foot, about the specific type of surgery that would be required (and the fact that it is a difficult surgery and often not successful), and about other treatment options. He thought that it might be helpful to tweak my orthotics, which I wasn't wearing at the time, and told me to just bring them in any time and he would fix them (which I did). He was kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him.

Have had issues (toenail fungai) for quite awhile, finally decided to see a podiatrist. The office was friendly, the Doc was straight forward. And it went really well, spoke to me as a person not down to me. So far the treatment is working.

Keith Card, DPM/Tahoe Fracture & Orthopedic
It went fine. He examined it, determined a treatment and explained everything I wanted to know. I have seen Dr. Card many times over the last nine months. I had a toe infection that had been mistreated elsewhere. I have seen him at Carson-Tahoe Wound Care, and he has been effective. That toe had to be removed, but when another became infected, he worked very hard to save it, including ordering a six-week course of IV antibiotic treatment that was successful. He is friendly and always explains what is going on and what can or should be done about it.

    Karrasch, Dr. Charles C.
I go to Dr. Karrasch routinely for foot care because I am a diabetic with neruopathy. He routinely trims my toenails and inspects my feet to maintain optimum health. He is very friendly, engaging, and caring. He gives me his full attention while I am in his office. While the wait to see him once I arrive for the appointment can be a bit long, the care I receive from him once he sees me is worth the wait. In the past when I have had problems with blisters, he has gotten me in on a moment's notice. I highly recommend Dr. Karrasch.
