    Choice Home Warranty
I called for a claim they took my information. They had some problems finding someone locally but they kept on it til one was found. He came out and advised it was unrepairable. The company they called out screwed up and tried billing the wrong company. I called choice and advised them what happened, they corrected it in minutes. I got a call about a hour later. They directed me to home depot website to pick out new dishwasher was exactly the same brand as mine. I picked color and thsy advised it could be up to 15 days and home depot would call. About a week later got the call. Home depot showed up installed and took old one away. No hick ups at all. They bill monthly which is why i chose choice over orhers. Great job guys.

I don't know yet. I am waiting for the repair man to order the part for my oven that have been out for two weeks now. I also could not believe they wanted to charge me extra for the part that had to be ordered. They finally got it straighten out and I was satisfied with the results.

    NATIONAL HOME WARRANTY
It had broken before and they said that because it was less than three months we were still covered on the previous payment. They did a good job. I have about 4 houses that are covered by them and I have no complaints.

    Choice Home Warranty
Choice Home Warranty continued to give me the run around, saying they were doing everything they could to get a technician to repair my AC. Cooling stopped on Friday and it was finally repaired (I paid) on Tuesday. I spoke with AC repair techs in Reno and without exception, they oppose working with CHW because of what they pay. It is hot in Reno, NV and with no AC it is terrible. CHW should be required to inform people that they DO NOT HAVE CHW Technicians in the area. Now that the repairs were approved by CHW and I paid the technician and now have to wait up to 30 days for reimbursement. I bought a home warranty so I would get good service, but I didn't get that. What a big and costly mistake I made. And, oh by the way, I had never made a single claim before this. The entire situation with CHW was a nightmare. Thankfully "I" was able to find a company to at least call CHW and who did an outstanding job of repairing my AC.

American Home Shield – Home Warranty
At first we were thrilled with AHS. They seemed like a solid company. They sent competent contractors and replaced our dishwasher when it was broken beyond repair. Their contractors completed many repairs around our home in a timely and professional manner. We felt like we were receiving a great value for our money. Then something changed and they began to send out contractors that repeatedly failed to fix the problems we were calling them about. In one instance with our twenty year old stove, they sent out someone who failed to fix it the first time after it begain shocking me and catching fire. They again sent out someone who changed out the fuse and there have been no problems since, but the ring around the burner is blackened and the heat is still inconsistent. The same thing happened with our garbage disposal. After repeated failures to get our garbage disposal working properly, finally a private contractor fixed the problem. The final straw was when we went without heat for a week and a half during the cold part of winter while trying to get AHS to send someone to fix the problem. Each time we called, we were told something different and given a different excuse. We finally got our heater fixed, but not before we were so frustrated with AHS that we vowed not to renew our contract with them. It's too bad, because they used to be so good. We would never use AHS again. During the time that the quality of their service decreased so drastically, they actually raised the rates for service calls. Eventually, it just was not worth the money we paid to keep them as our warrantly company.

Just to let you know their website is misleading in that they are not taking new contracts in California I wasted my time calling them!!

American Home Shield – Home Warranty
They sent a plumber to look at my leaking hot water heater.    The plumber, who did a good job, noted that the expansion tank and the overflow valves attached to the heater were leaking.   He also noted that a pressure regulator was missing causing the plumbing in the house to be subjected to full city water pressure.    I could understand be responsible to pay for a pressure regulator that was never there in the first place.    They also would not pay for the expansion tank and valve because they were exposed to pressure that was too high.    I would think that they should cover them.   What if, hypothetically, the water heater failed or plumbing leaked one year from now and they said that it was not covered because it was exposed to pressure that was too high last year.    What good is this insurance if they always find a reason not to pay?   Therefore, I am responsible for the repairs (to pay the plumber directly) PLUS the $60 charge that American Home Shield charged me for doing nothing except an estimate.    Most plumbers would offer free estimates too.    Therefore, I have $500 per year insurance just to be able to pay $60.    I would recommend staying away from all insurance companies of this type.

    Colonial Home Warranty
I would not recommend this company.  As I stated, during the first year of mypolicy my home heating system was covered, I then renewed my policy and they changed the terms and conditions without ever notifying me.  When I requested service they refused and then would not give me a full refund.
