    I enjoyed it and I've never said that about a dentist in my life. The people were all nice and friendly. Some of them were really funny. I've never gone to a dentist where I sat around at a place and joked and laughed like I did at this place.

    I am going to point out the positives, some of the work I have done and unfortunately, a couple negatives that caused me to switch dental offices. Positives: New office, clean, current and top of the line equipment and I believe what makes this office shine are the employees. The Dentist hires the nicest people. In fact, the dentist is friendly and always approaches with a beaming smile. The work: exams, teeth cleanings, braces, fillings, root canal, teeth whitening, etc. Of note: I drive from the state of Northern Nevada to Rocklin California to Heritage Oak Dental [I did]. I do not have dental insurance and pay for ALL services immediately. Good customer, right? Memorable 1 - Braces! The work was started and mostly completed by his father. His dad rocks! The nicest/friendliest guy. I believe the best work done for my braces was done by him. When his father was away on holiday or unavailable, the dentist stepped in and you could tell that there was a lack of confidence. But he's a young guy and will get more experience. His father finished the work! Memorable 2 The awesome OCD hygienist. I liked this hygienist so much that I actually looked forward to the cleanings because the gal was so darn fun! Sadly, my last cleaning [different person] was brief, incomplete and with tarter build up. Not good at all. Now for the not so good. I believe the anchor of the office are the staff but the unfortunate experience I have had over the past few years is the revolving door of employees. Particularly that with almost every visit, an employee or more would pull me aside and say goodbye to me and tell me why- and I would be sad because it appeared to me that he had the best folks. I believe that just about everyone is a good person. Of course, there is the occasion bad Apple. Initially, I thought. Well, that's weird and maybe the problem is the employee but over the years what I described above kept happening and each would complain that they couldn't take it anymore and that behind the doors was fairly unpleasant employer/employee conditions. Something stuck out in my memory is when I met the dentist wife. I noticed she was talking with a front desk staff member and I clued in she was the dentists wife... I said hi and she was rather unfriendly and bordered on frowning and then I noticed was really not nice to the employee either...I sat in my seat and watched their exchange in discomfort. Employee being nice. Wife being mean. So that turned me off. The wife incident didn't fend me off, I just felt sorry for the dentist... yikes! Why did I leave? The final straw was well...another round of employees was that I had paid for an annual upfront cost teeth cleaning and was advised that I would be notified for scheduling. That never happened. Of course, they cheerfully took my money but never followed through. But, probably because so many of the employees come and go. Can't blame the staff - that wouldn't be fair! I called and made a cleaning appointment and the wok was terrible. I did the Zoom whitening and purchased a tube tooth paste. Before leaving, I schedule out some weeks for another visit where they would take a mold of my teeth and create a anti-teeth-grid something or another. The cost would going to be around 600-800 bucks. Though new, all staff wonderful and nice. On March 27th 2017 at 10:27 I received what sounded like a 'bill collection' phone call from Carrie at Heritage Oak Dental...apparently they forgot to bill me for the tooth paste and the message she left was urgent. I still have the VM today and listened to it again. She sounded friendly but stressed - urgent to get tooth paste payment. Poor thing having to call me to demand payment for a tube of tooth paste! I called back when I received the VM around 12:15 pm that day. I asked her, can't you just add the cost of the tooth paste to the forth coming appointment? She said, oh no. We can't wait that long for the payment for the tooth paste. You have to take care of this. So I did and per usual, she was so kind, so friendly as all of them are... and I resolved that - it's not the staff. The heavy hand is the owner... the dentist. So, I kindly and with respect paid for the tube of tooth paste and cancelled my future appointment. I left. I decided that sometimes when you win the battle, you loose the war. For this gal to be forced to be heavy handed to collect on a tube of tooth paste they forgot to bill me for, it has got to be just awful there for these gals. It's too depressing to go there knowing these lovely ladies are likely treated so poorly. I feel terrible for these gals. I hope the dentist steps back and realizes hounding a customer for tooth paste can cost him a customer but also, sheesh... you are chasing away wonderful people that want to work for you. I hope he grows up.
