    I did not like any of their service. It took too long. Customer service was bad I will not use them again unless I had to.?To improve their service, they need more clarity and better communication. It was really poor communication kept quoting me the wrong numbers as far as pricing. They told me at first saying it was 1500 then two days later said it was 2300 and then called again and said 1700. They discounted a bunch so price, I would give them a "C". For quality, my truck was squealing for the last two and a half years after I had that done.

    Nissan of Bakersfield
    My history of service with Nissan of Bakersfield has had its ups and downs but improved between starting in 9/2011 to the present.
    Nissan parts are expensive, compared to comparable aftermarket parts, but to maintain the warranty, Nissan parts must be used. Can anyone who is an experience mechanic suggest why it is essential, e.g., to have a Nissan oil filter instead of obtaining oil service elsewhere in a business very capable of doing that basic maintenance chore? When I asked the question at Nissan Service, my answer was "because the warranty requires that you use Nissan parts"; basically, a non-answer.
    I do find it rude when a company's customer service employees communicate with each other in their language of choice, and with select bilingual customers, in a language other than English. Employees at Nissan of Bakersfield haven't smoothed out this issue fully, but have improved over the past two years.
    Some service managers are excellent about letting you know the status of the service you are having, coming to the waiting room to do so; others, not so much and you have to go out to the service managers area to find out.
    Nissan of Bakersfield has a swipe keyring card for regular customers that provides a few dollars off for the next service. The cashier used to receive the car keys with the swipe card but failed to swipe mine for several service visits. I had to call a manager and get this oversight corrected.
    On a plus side, my car has run smoothly every time I have received service there. I guess for the peace of mind that comes from driving a mechanically safe, smooth running car, there is a "price" above and beyond what we pay for service.

    They have sloppy mechanics. I've been a loyal customer for 15 years and the last 2 years was absolute hell with them. I don't even take my car there anymore. I'd have to have my car towed in to them because they've damaged it after I've taken it and have is serviced. They never said that they broke the head of my dipstick, the cork to my coolant and it's gonna leak out. The sloppiness was unbelievable. the last time I took my vehicle there, Martin was so rude and cocky with me. It took them 2 days to fix my car after I had it towed back in. It was not a good situation. I've never been treated so awful in my life. Martin never once looked up at me when I went in to pick my vehicle up. He never once got off of his phone, never once acknowledged me. His manager, Jason, had to come out of his office to take care of me.

    They're wonderful, awesome people. I think the price is extremely standard. I love the mechanic. He will actually come and get you and show you everything on you vehicle. They have a 17-point inspection the minute you bring your car in, no matter what you bring it in for. It's just to keep you safe on the road.

    Every time I go in there I spend a lot, it always turns out to be more money than they quoted you, so I am not using them anymore because of this. They always seem to find other things that they need to do. I am a senior citizen and I have to know if the cost is going to be higher than what I have been quoted. I will not use them in the future.
