    HERNANDEZ GARDEN SERVICE
I have used Mr. Hernandez for gardening several times and have been happy with his work. He is knowledgeable about different types of plants and helped me select some that would work well in my yard. He first comes over to see what work needs to be done and provides a quote at that time. When the work is finished the payment always matches the quote. I will definitely use him in the future.

    BAY AREA TREE SPECIALISTS
Just wanted to let everyone know about my experience with this company. My neighbor facing my back yard has a HUGE cedar tree that has been growing bigger every year and has so many large branches that have grown to cover about 20% of my back yard in shade. I knew my neighbor loves that tree and refused to allow us to cut the branches that were shadowing our yard, so I was surprised when Larry Van Groningen of Bay Area Tree Specialists rang our doorbell last evening and asked permission to enter our yard to clear out branches from the cedar that they were planning on trimming back today. Evidently, despite my neighbor's love for the tree, that love decreased when a huge branch fell and damaged his roof. I was elated that (finally) I would be able to get light into my yard but I was very concerned that the huge branches coming down would damage my back yard and, possibly, some of the utility wires. I have an Asian garden, Japanese Maples, water features and many delicate plants. Larry assured me that he would instruct the team to be careful. I set aside time from my workday so I could monitor the progress and make sure the minimum of damage would be done. Juan, who was in the tree with chainsaw and limb puller was masterful at removing branches and worked with Mateo to work with rope and cut down the branches into pieces that could be thrown back over the fence before they damaged my yard. I was still concerned, however, with some giant tree limbs that extended into our yard and were intertwined with one of our trees. I didn't see how they could be done without hurting my yard. I called Larry and he actually came back from a job in Foster City and talked with Juan on a strategy to get the branches down and not hurt the plants, wires, and yard. In an amazingly short time, Juan and Mateo maneuvered the branches with ropes and managed to get it done with a minimum f mess and virtually no damage. Thanks, Larry, Juan and Mateo for your caring and expertise. I am definitely calling them for my next tree needs.

    Rosa's Maintenance, Inc.
Thursday, May 9, 2019 I came home today to find that Rosa's Maintenance had, once again caused problems in my garden by not followed my instructions. It's the last in a LONG list of problems I have had with her. After more than a month of problems this is what I've had to do: I finally had to specifically text her to ONLY come WHILE I WAS THERE and to ONLY take out the roots of the Nandina I have been asking her to remove since I first contracted with her in March. She did not remove the root. Instead she cleaned up my yard which I specifically did NOT authorize and left the root intact. Herr company has been a nightmare from the beginning I have called her back FOUR times to remove Nadina roots so I can plant in that area. She still has NOT removed the roots (even though I have dug a hole every time to show her where the root is!) She has repeatedly ignored my instructions and instead has repeately done what I asked her NOT to do. I asked her to dig up the Nandina root _ SHE HAS NOT I asked her to cut up the vines in smaller pieces as required by the garbage company -- SHE HAS NOT I asked her to take the yard waste tote out to the curb as it's too heavy for me -- SHE HAS NOT I asked her to ONLY trim certain bushes -- SHE HAS HACKED MY GARDEN TO PIECES (see pictures) To make sure I was clear and that she understood what I wanted (which wasn't much since I like to do gardening but can't handle the heavy stuff anymore) this is what I did: I walked the yard with her when I first hired her and showed her what I wanted -- She ignored me I texted her to tell her of the problems and go over my instructions again -- She ignored me I had her come by the house a SECOND time to SHOW her AGAIN -- She ignored me I called her to tell her of the problems and go over my instructions again --She ignored me I texted her to tell her I needed to be there to supervise -- she ignored me I texted her to tell her to ONLY remove the roots and not clean the yard -- again she ignored me! Oh, my goodness!! I have bent over backward to try and get her to listen to me! Instead she has ignored me repeatedly, been rude and disrespectful (with the excuse that she "has to be tough because she's a woman in a man's job." Well, I had my own company for many years and NEVER had to be rude or disrespectful to my clients -- it didn't matter that I was a woman.) And she cannot say this was a lack of understanding due to a language barrier because I spoke to her in her native language to make sure she understood my instructions! I have never written a bad review to Angie's List but I have to this time because this behavior is completely unacceptable given the ratings they say she has. I will no longer allow her on my property (even though I have already paid for the removal of the roots, which, after FOUR visits has still not been done!) My yard has been hacked to pieces, my money has been wasted, my instructions have been completely disregarded, and my patience is gone. It has been a great disappointment to me to work with Rosa's Maintenance Company. After all my efforts the situation has only gotten worse. It's also been a great disappointment to see that Angie's List's ratings, which supposedly are unbiased and accurate could be SO far from the truth. I feel betrayed and totally taken advantage of by both Rosa's Maintenance and Angie's List. So, members, if you want to take a chance on someone who refuses to do what she has already been paid to do, who repeatedly ignores your instructions, who hacks up your garden -- by all means go ahead. Maybe you want to believe those reviews, but mine is truthful -- you can tell by the details and the pictures. BEWARE!!!

    Wills Tree Care
Service was timely - on time for estimating appointment, called ahead when slightly delayed for actual work. Provided advice and suggestions on cherry tree which had not fruited. Workers professional and cleaned up thoroughly. Work completed to my satisfaction and at lowest estimate provided (two other contractors bid on work).

Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape Inc
It was my lucky day when I met Bruce Pressman at the Santa Clara Home Show. After sitting down with Bruce to discuss the extensive changes I wanted, there was no doubt in my mind that I was making the right choice putting my trust in him and in Black Diamond, a Diamond Certified company. Bruce's invaluable guidance and patience with my many indecisions helped me to create exactly what I envisioned. Bruce was at my house each day coordinating with Alvaro and his wonderful hard-working crew, who were here every day until the job was completed, no interruptions to take care of other jobs. My yards were spotless and beautiful when they were finished. Bruce designed a beautiful flow of pavers that connects the front yard to the backyard. I couldn't be happier!

    Johnson's Tree Care Inc
The folks arrived early, went to work promptly, even did some additional trimming that we had, cleaned up spick and span, and were done well before they were even scheduled to arrive. Very polite service - fantastic overall! Would hire again - we have a few other trees that might need to be done in the future.

    Method Paving
Nathan managed the entire project from initial quote to completion. He was on-site several times to direct the demolition and installation crews. When I called or texted him with questions or changes, he responded right away. The crews were considerate and cleaned up daily. The project started and finished on the days specified, the first construction project that finished on time in my experience as a homeowner. When a small repair was needed, Nathan came back to fix it personally.

Welcome Home Landscape & Lawn Care
Ken and Emily did a complete relandscaping of our property. They made a plan as to what plants would be removed, then removed them, replaced much of the soil, built an irrigation system and installed it, and then filled our yard with the most wonderful plants. We worked with them to figure out what plants would be suitable for our yard, both in aesthetics as well as functionality, and they positioned everything to maximize beauty and plant health. They were very detail oriented. They brought in a fence expert to fix our fences before replacing the soil. The yard was full of way too many decorative rocks, and rather than the easy thing of throwing them out and buying new ones, they cleaned the existing rocks and reused them. The new plants they installed are perfect for us - the new landscape is a dream come true, and I can't wait to see how things look after everything grows in. Ken and Emily were also very friendly and easy to work with. They got along really well with our family. We feel fortunate that they could work with us.

    Garescape Inc
Miguel was reliable and responsive to all inquiries. He was professional and always arrived on-time. He and his team did a nice job installing the pavers. He helped choose a border that looks nice with the pavers I chose. Each night and at the end of the project the area was left clean. It's only been a few days, so we'll see how it is in the long-run, but I am pleased so far.

    JLM Construction
I strongly recommend not to hire this company so you won't ruin your day. Our landscape designer and we were in middle of shopping for constructor and had two estimates from two constructors then. We were open to any additional candidate. Jason Chen approached our landscape designer. She gave them the plan of our project. We then agreed to meet the owner Joseph to show him our landscape so he can quote. He showed up and we showed what we have from the designer. He started to criticize by saying the drawing is like a postage thus he can't do anything. It sounds like he misunderstood that we are looking for someone who works on just cost reduction without committing his service. I did mention that we already received two estimates (so we have some idea of how much it will be) and we hope to work with the constructor to reduce the cost by modifying the design but we need advises from both designer and constructor. He kept criticizing how lack of information my designer's drawing was and eventually walked away as he shout, "Wasting my time, F*CK!!". Five hours later, he left me almost 2 minutes long message calling us unethical, disgusting animal, no moral etc. (I still have the voice mail in my phone). My landscape designer reached out Jason Chen after I told her the incident and she did not get any decent response. It is very shocking that someone with such a low level of communication skill and unprofessional and disrespectful behavior can sustain the business.
