  • It was my lucky day when I met Bruce Pressman at the Santa Clara Home Show. After sitting down with Bruce to discuss the extensive changes I wanted, there was no doubt in my mind that I was making the right choice putting my trust in him and in Black Diamond, a Diamond Certified company. Bruce's invaluable guidance and patience with my many indecisions helped me to create exactly what I envisioned. Bruce was at my house each day coordinating with Alvaro and his wonderful hard-working crew, who were here every day until the job was completed, no interruptions to take care of other jobs. My yards were spotless and beautiful when they were finished. Bruce designed a beautiful flow of pavers that connects the front yard to the backyard. I couldn't be happier!

  • Nathan managed the entire project from initial quote to completion. He was on-site several times to direct the demolition and installation crews. When I called or texted him with questions or changes, he responded right away. The crews were considerate and cleaned up daily. The project started and finished on the days specified, the first construction project that finished on time in my experience as a homeowner. When a small repair was needed, Nathan came back to fix it personally.

  • DAC did a good job implementing our landscape design. He came in at half the price of another bidder for a very similar design. We said he could take his time and he did. Only had one call back for weed intrusion which was resolved with addition of weed block fabric and extra chipped wood mulch. Love our yard!

  • My only comment would be that I wished they would have told me that the pavers I purchased would not work very well for what I wanted. The work was awesome the product I purchased - not so much! They contacted me within a few hours of purchasing thru Angie's list. The work was done promptly, professionally and well done.

  • The initial sales experience and design was excellent. The excavation and installation was another story. From the first day the workers were cutting corners. They did not excavate to the depth that System Pavers stipulated in their specifications before they started to put in the base layer of gravel and weed barrier. They left their lunch garbage in the yard. They did not put adequate sand between the pavers and there were areas where there was zero sand between the pavers. There was no portable toilet for 2 1/2 days for the workers. Each of the problems was brought to the attention of the project manager. While each of the problems was corrected, the type of problems led us to believe that work quality is not a company value. We got a reasonable quality product only because we were vigilant during the entire process. Within 60 days of installation the following happened. We had to replenish the sand between the pavers as many areas no longer had sand. System Pavers hires a private company to survey clients. We received a phone message from the project manager saying he was disappointed in our review and that if we were willing to improve our review, he would give us some free services. This is really bad and makes us wonder how many reviews were "improved" in return for free services.

  • The job was done fantastically and we could not have asked for any better.  His crew showed up on time and finished *exactly* when it was promised to be done.  Andy is very knowledgeable, recommended best practices from depth of irrigation to types of privacy screening trees.  Impressed by the quality of the work and the level of professionalism his team executes at.  Andy guarantees his work to the point where he specifically states that the contract he provides does not want final payment until he is able to come back and take care of what was installed (in our case, mow the lawn 2 weeks later), to make sure that the project is successful from start to finish.  Highly recommended for initial installation as well as continued landscaping.

  • Each individual project was completed on time and to our complete satisfaction. Along the way on each, Richard and his crews have made suggestions which have enhanced our results. We have been told by several of our neighbor's that the results are wonderful.

  • Frank is a very personable individual with some creative ideas.  Unfortunately all too often he speaks rather than listen.  Visually, the new patio looks very nice but the devil is in details.  One of our primary goals was to ensure rain water and gutter water would drain to the far end.  After constant assurances, it does not.  After assuring the project would have quarter inch slope for good runoff, the patio ended up flat.  Water needs to get over half inch deep to begin to run.  Standing water results in staining of the pavers and the build up of moss and mold.  All these things were talked about in the beginning but ended up as "acceptable deviations".  Admittedly the grading was challenging.  Perhaps if Frank had used an accurate Transom to site the grades rather than a string and level, the outcome might have been better.  Timeliness is a major problem.  Projections were for a 6 week completion, it took over 16 weeks.  During the job we had to intervene for corrections.  Frank was good at doing things over, but he was not on site often enough to catch the issues himself.  The workers did not speak English so getting them to understand mistakes was extremely challenging.  Not only was the job 2 months overtime, Frank generally would arrive for discussion meetings 2 hours late.  Out of 5 set time and date meetings, he never arrived anywhere near on time.  On the positive side, the team cleaned up each night, were careful not to damage the siding or neighbors siding, and did not cause too much issue with the neighbors.  In the end, we have the new patio, but I am forced to do regular maintenance and use a drain pipe all winter long.

  • I did initially have some trouble getting the work scheduled and started. They were very hardworking. It looks good but the whole thing ended up being about a 1/2 inch too high.  The pavement ended up being right up against the siding of the house, which doesn't quite look right.

  • We're very happy with the quality of their work, and the look of our new driveway.
Even before they started the job, they were helpful with choosing materials - we were indecisive about a few options, but Nathan was helpful with suggesting materials that would look good with our house, giving us addresses to look at, and fielding questions ("what stone does this neighbor have?")
When they started, they were punctual and completed the job in a week, as expected.
Nathan appeared to keep a close eye on what was going on, checking in frequently on things, kept an eye on the weather (there was an evening with expected light rain, but explained why things would be fine), and ensured things went smoothly.
The result was very good quality work, and would use them again if needed.
