Car Stereo Installation reviews in Suisun City

I live just outside of Woodland and have passed Audionutz for years. I had checked out their web site and assumed that they dealt with higher-end car audio and specialized in those powerful amplified systems with huge subwoofers. In the past I had always just gone to Best Buy and had their Geek Squad install my car audio since I didn't require all of that "high end" stuff but the Woodland Best Buy's car audio section is abysmal. I wanted to upgrade the basic stock radio in my Nissan pickup truck and certainly didn't need "high end" equipment. I just wanted a reasonably decent sound system with Bluetooth so I could use my iPhone with it and I wanted XM/Sirius. So, on a whim, I went into Audionutz and checked it out. I'm really glad that I did! I talked to one of the guys there and explained that I needed some lower-end audio equipment and asked if they had any. He said that they could sell and install a good system for a reasonable price. We then talked audio. He was very knowledgeable and showed me some options after I told him what kind of sound system I wanted. I felt no pressure. He simply described the equipment and what he thought would work best for me within my budget. I chose the system that I wanted with one addition that he suggested: and amplifier. I was leery of the idea of getting an amplifier at first because it seemed to be overkill for what I thought I needed. He explained why he though it was a good idea but didn't pressure me. I set up an appointment to get the system installed. The installation was perfect. The system looks great. There was no sign that the truck didn't come with it. The result is a sound system that is so good that I find excuses to go for a drive just to listen to it. The sound quality is impressive. I am extremely pleased with it, and I am very thankful that I got good advice and took it. Customer Service I explained above how knowledgeable and low key the sale and installation went. I didn't get the ersatz happy customer service that you often get these days. I got low-key, help from somebody who was quite knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely want to get me the system I wanted. About a month after installation, I called because I was getting an error from the satellite radio about the antenna. They took my info and told me to bring it in so they could look at it. I did and they fixed it free of charge. No hassles and no fuss: just good customer service supporting the product and their installation. This week, I got a CD stuck by my own error (stupidity?). I called and asked if they could remove it. They told me to drop by so that they could look at it. I did and Jerome told me that he would need to remove it from my dash. Of course, I told him I would pay him for it since it was my error. We scheduled an appointment for the next day. I showed up and Jerome recovered the CD. I asked how much and I was told "nothing." This is unbelievably good customer service that is very rare these days. They have a customer for life now. I highly recommend giving this shop a call or just drop in. Their hours are on their web site.

Work was well done and clean. Mike doesn't just work on marine, my particular job was on a 1978 Mercedes. I am a very happy customer.

Tony installed an after market car stereo/disc player in my truck, while I waited. I was in a hurry and needed it that day, so he fit me in. I was leaving town and then lending the truck to a relative. I assumed that the stereo worked but told the relative not to use it because it needed to be set up. After getting the truck back, the disc player did not work. The relative did not use the disc player. I took it back and Tony checked it out and determined that the unit was defective. He immediately went and got a replacement, installed it in about 5 minutes, working correctly. This was great service and I would recommend Tony.

Audio Express was great. They were quick and it appeared to be really good pricing. We did not do a lot of shopping previously, but the price was reasonable. We had to go back and got some questions answered. It is not just the initial installation, but it happens when you have questions or problems. We were really pleased with the service. I don't have anything to compare their pricing to, but we were going there for my car and then we had it installed in both cars.

    Geek Squad - Best Buy
My car stereo and part of my dash got ripped out by thieves, along with two amplifiers.  I was left with a broken dash, front and rear speakers, and the amplifier for the front speakers.  I fixed the dash myself with junk yard parts, but delayed getting the stereo replaced until about 10 days ago. On impulse I looked into getting a new stereo and getting it installed at Best Buy while I was stuck in the neighborhood killing time. There wasn't anyone in or near the car stereo department.  The department was small and set up like most electronics box stores.  They had a wide selection of head units on display, all of them powered on and working.  However, as confirmed later by an associate, none of them were connected to speakers.  That isn't actually a big deal since it would be a terrible environment to evaluate sound quality anyway.  As is normal with this type of store, there wasn't much information available about the units.  Each unit was marked with a little card including the price, model number and a few features. I was surprised to discover that there were units that integrate with Android phones.  This includes playing audio from the device over blue tooth, controlling playback for the music app (next, previous, play, pause, select song, select folder, random, etc.), using the car stereo to make and receive hands free calls, some units will even control the Pandora app, while Kenwood has a special application you can install on the phone for extra integration features.  Many of these immediately became required features.   Within 10 minutes an associate came over and offered her assistance.  She was very friendly and eager to help.  The girl didn't know much about the more technical details of the units, and nothing about Android integration, but she helped me look at the specs, told me what she knew, was honest about what she didn't know, and offered to bring out someone from the install department which I asked her to do.  I wound up talking with Michael, the manager of the install department.  He answered my questions, although he didn't have any information or experience with Pandora integration or the special applications offered by Kenwood. Regardless, he was knowledgeable and quickly answered my other questions, helping me narrow down which units would work for me.  He even went out to my car and inspected it so he could give me an accurate quote.  Since my last stereo was stolen it was a rather odd install.  A button panel was broken and could not be screwed back into to the dash, he offered to fix it as part of the standard install.  Also, since I used to have an amp for my rear speakers the wiring would have to be changed to use the new head unit instead.  Since the original factory wires were still in place he offered to reconnect them for free as well.  Finally, he said he could repair and re-use the damaged wiring harness that the thieves left behind so I didn't have to buy a new one.  A local boutique I talked to wanted to charge me for every one of those things. The head unit that I picked out was on sale, saving me $20.  When you add that savings to the free repairs mentioned above Michael's quote was a full $105 lower than the local boutique. He could have installed it while I waited but it would have taken 2 hours.  Instead I scheduled the install for the next Saturday morning with a promised 1 hour wait.  He didn't even make me go back to his department or call the normal hotline to make the appointment/  He just asking me when I wanted to come in and added me to the schedule himself. When I arrived for the install they immediately got started on my car.  He remembered all of the details we had discussed.  When he wrote out the quote there was a $5 materials fee that he hadn't included in his first quote but I didn't complain.  He also told me that it would take 90 minutes instead of the 60 that he had told me when I made the appointment.  However, they actually finished in just over an hour so I didn't complain about that either.   I can't find any fault with the work they did.  It's clean, and every-thing works.  I was particularly impressed that they took the effort to taking apart the dash and trim to invisibly route the microphone (for the blue tooth calling feature) to the roof, just above my rear view mirror.  Michael told me that that placement produced much better call quality than mounting it in the dash (which would have been much easier).  The people I have talked with through the stereo report that the call quality is excellent. Overall I'm very happy with my experience and my new car stereo.

    West Coast Audio - Sacramento
Wow, impressive. An audio shop that has an excellent selection with an abundance of inventory. No, "We will order that for you". Tony, the installer is an expert with over twenty years in his profession. I purchased the whole enchilada, Deck, GPS, Hands Free, IPod, Amp, Speakers, etc. Room was an issue, my truck was not giving the installers many choices to locate the equipment. In the end, Tony made it all look factory installed with no indication of wires, bolted equipment to the floor etc. I made some strong demands for a perfect install, they made it happen! In my youth I was an audiophile so I was semi knowledgable when I walked in. Sales staff, honest, extremely knowledgeable and not interested in overselling you product you don't need, imagine that. I went to the "High end" shops first. I found them to be high in price, a bit presumptuous, telling me what I wanted, rather than selling to my needs. Easily a 5 star experience.

    Mike's Sound Solutions
Very unorganized and unprofessional Expensive for the shady work that you receive. Mike the owner tries to be knowledgeable but really doesn't know what he's talking about. The office manager is conceded and arrogant. Would not recommend to my worst enemy. They tell lies lies and more lies!! STAY AWAY

    West Coast Audio - Sacramento
I have a 2014 dodge charger with an amplified factory system. I upgraded the speakers with Best Buy and ran into known issues with sound in the front speakers(No highs or mid range frequencies). So I decided to talk to a few Audio places to see what could be done to have full range sound in the front and back 6x9 speakers in my car. My first stop was West Coast Audio.(out of 3 I planned to visit). When I got to West Coast Audio the counter person brought out the tech that would do the Install Tony. Tony is the only reason that this review is positive as it is. Tony the installer was knowledgeable and seemed to know exactly the issue and what I wanted. He recommended a amp and audio controller for the front and back speakers. I asked him about how long it will take to install and he replied 1.5 to 2 hours, so I made an appointment to bring my car in the following morning. I brought my vehicle in at 9:30am for the install after paying in advance the day before( MISTAKE) and walked .5 mile up the street and watched 2 movies while the car was being worked on. About 4 hrs later I called to check on the progress of the vehicle and the front counter person said that he hasn't seen a charger in the shop and I should call back later to check with someone else. I finished the movie I was watching at the time and walked back to west coast audio. It was 4pm when I arrived back. I talked to the person at the counter and here is where my issues with west coast audio started. The counter salesman seemed more interested in a woman that was in the shop than providing customer service. He told me I could go into that shop area where the cars were being worked on and talk to Tony. It looked like tony was being seriously overworked. There where several cars in the installation area being worked on ( my car included) with the parts hanging out. I was a surprised. So it looked like I had a bit of a wait on my hands after talking a bit to Tony I walked back up to the front area and sales floor. No seats for waiting except a dirty chair outside used to keep the front door open. What struck me was the salesperson's attitude when I talked to him for a sec. The salesman's attitude was kind of like they were doing me a huge favor for bringing my car there and paying to have work done. The salesman took the woman to "lunch" forcing Tony the installer to man the front counter while my car was in pieces in the back shop. By now my opinion of West Coast Audio was not a good one so I quietly waited. After about 45 min a sales person came back from where ever, and tony was allowed to go back and work on cars. I watched the way the shop functioned during my wait and professionalism is the last word I would use to describe West Coast Audio. So around 6:30pm my car is finished. The worked seemed rushed with wire shavings and cut twisty ties all over my back seat and trunk. All my speakers work in full range but I have not the ability to fade sound from front to back. I guess I didn't understand that going into it or it wasn't mentioned after waiting for 9 hours for what I was thinking was going to be 3hours max I was pretty much fed up and done with it all. It sounded good enough and being able to fade sound didn't seem like an issue I felt like exploring or trying to get fixed there. Tony through it all was the only bright spot but in the end I got 79% of what I wanted. If Tony owned his own audio shop I would be a loyal customer willing to shell thousands for my audio needs... but he's just an installer and not enough for me to recommend West Coast Audio to anyone. *UPDATE** audio was dropping out and I found that the power was tapped into unsafely and incorrectly and cost another $300 to fix the wiring and mounting of amp. DO NOT GO TO West Coast Audio!!! Terrible experience.
