Blinds And Curtain reviews in Studio City

I just got shutters with blackout shades installed for my sons nursery and I love them. They are so classy and stylish. Cory was great at suggesting the perfect product (shutters) and met my #1 need which was blacking out the room for my baby. The photos attached are before and after of opening and closing the blackout portion. And its during the day aka sunny out. Complete blackout in the second photo. I am SO happy.

I actually met a salesperson at Costco. I made a no obligation consultation for blinds, and met with the head of the company a few weeks later. I couldn't meet any sooner. Scheduling was easy and there were many samples to choose from. All of the materials are first rate. Nothing seemed flimsy or cheap. I also found that they were quite expensive. My windows are large, so there is no getting around the cost. I also believe that you get what you pay for. About a week after choosing my materials, an installer came to measure a second time and to check out my windows. He said he'd be back for installation. When the coverings were ready, I was contacted by the scheduling department. They actually scheduled me for the next day and on a weekend. I was thrilled that they could come and install so fast. In about an hour or two, both windows were done. I love the way they look and I love the technologies I picked. I know it was expensive, but I smile every time I look at them. I know I made the right choice.

From the first phone call with Tricia, I felt that Jacoby was very willing to work with me on a short timeline. Cory returned my call immediately and came the next day for a consultation. She gave me a few options on 5-7 turnarounds (all very reasonably priced) but I ultimately decided on wood shutters. The manufacturer agreed to come the same afternoon to do measurements, and after some discussions, we all agreed it would be best to install after our return home and place temporary shades on the windows for our guests. Cory actually drove to Bed, Beth & Beyond to get the shades and then she put them up for me. Phenomenal customer service! Cory was so knowledgeable and offered very good input. I couldn't be more pleased with my shutters. I'll definitely use Jacoby again and I'm so thankful to Angie's list reviewers for directed me to this fabulous family company.

Rick Temkin came to my house to provide me with a quote for putting shades on two small skylights in a stairwell. He seemed very knowledgeable of the product. That day was the last day that I felt good about this transaction. On the date of the installation, the installer had no idea what to do. None. It took approximately 5 hours for the installer to hang one of the skylight covers. From 9:30 am until 2:30 pm, the installer banged my walls with his ladder, cut the skylight unevenly and made a mess out of my house (scuffs on the walls, tiny metal fragments inside and outside, etc.) and the project. At about 2:45, Rick arrived and apologized profusely. With Rick's guidance, the installer was able to finish the final skylight in about 30 minutes. Before they finished, I asked Rick what he was going to go to the price to make up for the fact that a 1 hour project took all day, that the skylights were uneven and looked unprofessional and that damaged parts of my home. He looked me in the eye and said that he would adjust the bill. After a week passed, I called Rick to inquire about the price adjustment. He told me that he wasn't going to make the adjustment after all! He had lied to my face when he stood in my house. Instead, he sent to me a $25 gift card to The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf! The card was so damaged - it looked like someone had carried it around in their purse for a year! I told him that his conduct was not acceptable and that I wanted $100 off of the bill. This amount was only 10% of the cost of the window covers, and correlated to the amount my handyman told me that he would charge to me fix the damage that Classic Window Shades caused to my home. Rick told me that he would call me back that afternoon. Of course, Rick did not call back that afternoon. Instead, a few days later, Rick sent me a check -- the amount was less than $100, and Rick deducted $25 for his second-hand gift card!! The audacity is still shocking. I encourage you not to use Classic Window Shades for your home. Rick had several opportunities to make this right and failed to do so every time. I am now stuck with window covers that look horrible and damage to my home.

It went fantastically. I've been waiting until Angie List sent me their evaluation email, because if you write your review without it, they never stop sending you the prompt. However, the delay in writing this is no reflection on Brad or his work. First of all, the company was offering a fabulous discount and even though I had just looked at it online, Brad was very good at bringing it up in the first phone call. I was impressed because usually you have to remind providers of the discounts or they conveniently forget them. He was very professional on the phone and I was almost convinced to hire him at that point. But of course I didn't, because I never make these decisions without interviewing more than one vendor and comparing goods and prices. Brad wasn't exactly on time for the appointment, but he had phoned to tell me he was going to be ten minutes late, so I consider that on time, or even better. LA traffic when you are going between jobs and figuring out how long a job will take isn't easy so someone who keeps me informed, not hanging, gets thumbs up from me. I liked the selection of vertical blinds that Brad had and I was impressed with his knowledge of window hangings. The last time I had replaced blinds was over a decade so I was willing to listen to alternatives before I decided. However, I went with classical vertical blinds. With the discount Do It Right Blinds was offering, the cost was half of what I was quoted by another company. I was going to get a third quote but decided I liked Brad's expertise and the quality of his blinds enough that I had confidence in him. His installation was quick and his attitude and manner pleasant and friendly. I'm very happy with the blinds and the quality of the work installing them. I will have no hesitation going back to him when I need more.

I recently purchased my first home with my husband and we were in desperate need of custom drapery. I found Jacoby Company online and gave them a call! And boy am I glad I did. Cory and Gary were so professional, worked within my budget and helped guide me as to what would look best in our new home. They made the process so easy and I could not be more please with my drapes! She was so kind enough as to help me with my bedding as well as gave me some tips on how to make my room look like a magazine!! I would definitely recommend them to all of my friends and family. And I can't wait to use Jacoby Company again when the time comes.

Went great. I entered a request for a quote on their website over the weekend, based on positive reviews on Angie's List. Erasto followed up the next business day with a phone call and came over that same afternoon with samples and solid suggestions based on my specific living situation. He suggested a honeycomb vertical for the slider, which faces west and gets full-on sun in the late afternoon to block light, for television watching, and heat, to save on a/c. He noted a window facing a neighbor's backyard and driveway and suggested a top-down, bottom-up shade to provide light and privacy without sacrificing either. A bid followed, which I accepted. Terms were half down and half when work was completed. His turnaround estimate was two weeks for the new window treatments to be created and installed. He called on a Saturday, three days ahead of schedule, said the shades were ready and that he could come over that afternoon. He showed up promptly and completed the work without any hassles. Beautiful job and just what I needed. Erasto knows his stuff.

I guess the old adage is somewhat true, "you get what you pay for". Out of the four contractors we interviewed, Supreme's quote was significantly less than the others we received. However I'm not even sure we got what we paid for considering we had to hire another contractor to fix most of the work that Supreme was hired to complete. I'm very upset with our experience and spoke and met with their office manager Kerry on their shoddy work. They offered us $500 in compensation for the mistakes but we never received it. Although $500 doesn't cover the large amount of money it cost us to fix all of their careless work. Do yourself a favor and avoid working with this company at all costs!!! We were very dissatisfied with our lead contractor Simon. I would strongly recommend you avoid working with him. He was never on site and difficult to reach. When we he did show up he was usually late for our appointments and acted rather indignant when we brought up our concerns on their errors. We had very expensive Italian tile (wood look) installed in our house and he did not even bother to show up during the consultation on how it should be laid. As a result, it was laid incorrectly. The spacing went against our instructions and it was laid unevenly throughout the house. Our vision was that it would look like wood and therefore the spacing was to be no more than 1/16th of an inch (the store we bought it from strongly suggested that spacing). However, they laid it 1/8th of an inch inconsistently which made it very obvious that it was tile. Supreme said they did this because that was the manafacturers suggested spacing, however, they went against our wishes and it's our house, our project. The tile alone costs us 18,000 dollars so to be unsatisfied with how it looks is very upsetting. Additionally the grout color was completely wrong. It was supposed to be dark grey so it blended in. It dried uneven shades of white. They blamed us for this as we bought the grout however they grouted the entire place knowing it did not look as we wanted and never reached out at during the process to say we should buy a different color grout. They refused to fix it and we had dye the grout ourselves. The spacing between tile was very inconsistent; some was 1/8th of an inch and some had no spacing. I really wonder if they just don't know how to lay tile or if they were just sloppy and trying to finish quickly. Regardless they never stopped and asked us when they had to make critical decisions that affected the way the floors looked. Lastly the floors were left dirty and were never cleaned after installation. The drywall on the bathroom and stairs was done sloppy and not sanded before painting. The half bath where they removed wall paper and painted was not finished correctly. The wall had holes and divots in it and the way they dry walled it did not cover this. They said it was an additional charge to finish the walls correctly and we never requested that in the scope of work. We probably would have coughed up addironal money if they had mentioned this to us however it was never brought to our attention at any point. We were extremely displeased with how horrible the bathroom came out. I think it's fair to assume if you pay for someone to remodel your bathroom that they would finish the walls seamlessly, otherwise what was the point in having them do anything? They also did not bother to paint the door frame or door which was orange. We had to pay another contractor to come in and re dry wall, sand and paint the bathroom. They also left the old toilet and sink in our garage (despite our agreement that all materials would be hauled out of the premise). We had to pay someone to come haul it away. Lastly they did not hook up or install correctly the appliances they removed during remodel (the fridges ice maker was not hooked up and they left the /dishwasher uninstalled). They also removed chandeliers and never reinstalled them. They left the work areas filthy and never cleaned up before leaving. We were so disappointed and upset with the work and the way we were treated during this project. I really dislike the way our floors look and will probably redo them at some point. I'm so upset that we paid nearly 40k between labor and materials to dislike it as much as we do. Many of the guest we have over comment on the floor. They always say how much they love the tile but see how poorly it was installed. I would be happy to share pictures of the work with anyone who is considering hiring them. I hope this review helps others avoid getting into the situation we did.

I had some vertical blinds and Roman shades that needed repair.  Dan came out the same day I called.  He fixed the vertical blinds on the spot.  He took the Roman shades with him and restrung all the cords and replaced some of the hardware.  Within a couple of days, he came back and reinstalled the shades.  He was very pleasant and professional.  My window treatments are fairly new, so they didn't need cleaning, but I would not hesitate to call him for cleaning in the future.

I've had Shutters and More install shutters and closet doors in 2 rooms in the last 5 years.  Recently, a magnet that held a shutter in place had broken.  I e-mailed Barry Sable about where I might purchase a replacement.  Barry sent me 4 replacements for the broken part gratis.  I only needed one.  When a business deems it necessary to take care of a former customer long after the job has been completed, shows a concern for customer care that is exemplary and one that deserves your patronage.  Thank you, Barry.
