Wow, am I glad I chose to go there, and that I have stuck with the program for months.  I've made remarkable progress and I am thrilled about it.  Vivian, the therapist, is remarkable with identifying posture and motion problems, and more importantly their underlying cause and ways to resolve them.  Vivian is quite brash in a colorful Brooklyn sort of way.  I have found her style to be very effective.  Not only do I find her funny, she really got in my head regarding posture and using my core. Several weeks into treatment, I paused for a trip out of the country.  I constantly heard here voice reprimanding me when I was being lazy.  And it?s not just style; she?s extremely qualified and board certified.
Among other issues, my knees have been my primary problem.  Rather than simply take the technical diagnosis (PES anserine bursitis) and follow a predetermined set of exercises, she evaluated a number of posture and core strength issues through careful observation over several sessions and a multitude of exercises.  In my case, unequal leg length, poor mechanics favoring one side and corresponding core and support muscle deficiencies are the underlying cause.  By addressing these issues my problems have been resolved.  Three months ago walking across the room was painful.  Now I'm back to regular pain-free running and I'm thrilled.
In addition various forms of treatment and stimulation, massage therapy is frequently incorporated into their treatment.  There is a separate room for the messages.  I'm not a big fan of massages where you're essentially petted and lightly rubbed.  If it doesn't hurt, I feel like I have not gotten my money's worth.  I was not disappointed here at Prevent the Pain; I actually got more than I bargained for, but it's all for the best.  Given that my problems have built up over many years, I have many muscles which are
very tight and knotted together.  Part of the therapy has been to break up that muscle tissue.  It has been excruciatingly painful at times, but has made a radical difference for me.
There are two massage therapists I have worked with; Marcia and Jason.  Both are excellent and I highly recommend them.  I started with Marcia, and as Jason knows, she's still my favorite.  There's something wonderful about someone whispering, "That's all right, Boo, breathe deeply ...... and it will all be over soon."  All while inflicting the most exquisite pain ever.  It's just not
the same when Jason calls me Boo.  They both worked progressively deeper and deeper over a series of sessions.  We are now at ?Scream to Mama? level where I literally can?t help but cry out in pain.  It?s really unlike any other massage I?ve ever had at any traditional massage place or resort.  Please don?t be scared off bythis; for me it has been a critical component of returning to pain free exercise.  I am glad to endure it now that I have seen the results.

First of all the place was clean, that was a big plus for me. I didn't even see used robes or slippers in the baskets in the changing room. The masseur showed me the therapy room I would be in, informed me how the process would go and then showed me the changing room. The literature I was given to read and was also posted, helped further explain the procedures. As I said, since this was my first massage, I don't have anything to compare to but the massage was deep and good. He could have even gone deeper but I had to have him ease up. The therapy lasted a full 60 minutes at which time I was reminded that there are showers and steam room for my use. Everyone at the facility was very polite and friendly.

Her technique is great. She never causes pain, she only relives tension. She helps with scar tissue from past surgeries. I don't know what I'd do without her. I will continue to see her for massages.

She is absolutely stunning, fantastic chiropractic. She works in more of a holistic way than just crunching bones. She deals more with pressure points and stuff like that. She is very knowledgeable and honest. She is very straight forward. She is not afraid to refer you to a specialist. She also does acupuncture out of her office. She is very open with communication with other professionals if you sign over the release form. She is very personable and interesting. I trust her.

I was able to make a same day appointment, and they have good work hours outside of the normal work day, so that helped. There's not much to this place - everyone's in the same room, divided by curtains. So there is privacy, but you can hear others, so that was difficult, when one woman wouldn't stop talking and her phone went off. The massage itself was very helpful - the woman was great in stretching out the pain. But it felt a little "amateur" in terms of professionalism and communication. Hey, if you want a "utility massage" then this is the place, to just have the massage therapy done.

It goes good. I have been using her services for the last seven to eight years now. I like the feel of the office, it is more home like than office like. She very gentle with her patients. She can usually see you right away.

I literally left this place with finger nail marks on my back and I am not a complainer. I have a personal masseuse that comes to my home and I told him about how bad this place was and he laughed at me. I would say that if you want Thai massage, I would not really recommend this place and I for one will not be returning there. Its one of those places where you get what you pay for.

They give you a one hour foot massage. They were responsive. They took good care of my feet.
