    Power Journeys Hypnosis
I have been seeing Linda for about 6 weeks.  I was new to hypnotherapy but Lynda's warm personality, and bedside manner quick put me at ease, feeling comfortable discussing any and all.  The first appointment was about 3 hours and subsequent visits 2 hours.  I love her and her work because its like getting to the heart of the issues that I'd imagine take years to uncover in talk therapy.

She is a great listener, has an incredible memory for things that have happened in previous sessions and connects dots between emotions, past life events, and current issues- physical, emotional or otherwise that I never would have thought possible.

    A+ for Lynda!

    Wing Tam, Licensed Acupuncturist
I haven't been to acupuncture in a long time because my insurance didn't cover it and it was expensive more than I could afford, but I had a fall back in January and a friend of mine said, "You really need to go to help calm down the inflammation there". I was in a lot of pain and I will say that it was really, really helpful. She is just a terrific doctor. I found it very soothing. It definitely lessened the pain that I was in. It took that acute hot pain away, release it, and I think it was something that chiropractic couldn't help because it's more like muscle and it wasn't like one in my spine, it was really something that chiropractic couldn't help with, and it was really fantastic.

Dr. Ruben Chldrian at Pain Relief Center
He is a terrific chiropractor, his expertise, the quality of his care. Friendly, helpful staff. They were really courteous, accommodating their schedule. They also have a couple of really good people there for massage if you need massage. They get you in if you need to get in. His bedside manner is great. They're all around terrific.

    Gu, Dr. Hua
After the first treatment I was able to move my left arm without pain. The cyst in my thumb is breaking up after two treatments. My right elbow is already feeling much better. He has stated that I would need about 5 additional treatments. I don't know any other Doctor that charges less than $100 for a visit. One of the most important things is that he doesn't treat just the muscular/skeletal system. He treats a lot of other different ailments.

    Hagel-Wollman, Dr. Debra
Debra and her team, Kelly and Kayleigh, are fantastic. My doctor was blown away at how well I healed and recovered from the surgery.  They are a fun group so I always looked forward to going there, and they pushed me  - they knew what I was capable of doing better than I did, so I was always impressed at how my strength and flexibility recovered.
They are all very knowledgeable and constantly in tune with my comfort / pain levels.
I want to keep going, but my insurance won't have it.  They do allow you to continue coming for $15 mat fee per visit though to use the equipment.  Love all the balance exercises.

    Vivie Therapy
Wow, am I glad I chose to go there, and that I have stuck with the program for months.  I've made remarkable progress and I am thrilled about it.  Vivian, the therapist, is remarkable with identifying posture and motion problems, and more importantly their underlying cause and ways to resolve them.  Vivian is quite brash in a colorful Brooklyn sort of way.  I have found her style to be very effective.  Not only do I find her funny, she really got in my head regarding posture and using my core. Several weeks into treatment, I paused for a trip out of the country.  I constantly heard here voice reprimanding me when I was being lazy.  And it?s not just style; she?s extremely qualified and board certified.
Among other issues, my knees have been my primary problem.  Rather than simply take the technical diagnosis (PES anserine bursitis) and follow a predetermined set of exercises, she evaluated a number of posture and core strength issues through careful observation over several sessions and a multitude of exercises.  In my case, unequal leg length, poor mechanics favoring one side and corresponding core and support muscle deficiencies are the underlying cause.  By addressing these issues my problems have been resolved.  Three months ago walking across the room was painful.  Now I'm back to regular pain-free running and I'm thrilled.
In addition various forms of treatment and stimulation, massage therapy is frequently incorporated into their treatment.  There is a separate room for the messages.  I'm not a big fan of massages where you're essentially petted and lightly rubbed.  If it doesn't hurt, I feel like I have not gotten my money's worth.  I was not disappointed here at Prevent the Pain; I actually got more than I bargained for, but it's all for the best.  Given that my problems have built up over many years, I have many muscles which are
very tight and knotted together.  Part of the therapy has been to break up that muscle tissue.  It has been excruciatingly painful at times, but has made a radical difference for me.
There are two massage therapists I have worked with; Marcia and Jason.  Both are excellent and I highly recommend them.  I started with Marcia, and as Jason knows, she's still my favorite.  There's something wonderful about someone whispering, "That's all right, Boo, breathe deeply ...... and it will all be over soon."  All while inflicting the most exquisite pain ever.  It's just not
the same when Jason calls me Boo.  They both worked progressively deeper and deeper over a series of sessions.  We are now at ?Scream to Mama? level where I literally can?t help but cry out in pain.  It?s really unlike any other massage I?ve ever had at any traditional massage place or resort.  Please don?t be scared off bythis; for me it has been a critical component of returning to pain free exercise.  I am glad to endure it now that I have seen the results.

    Nojima, Dr. William S.
    Dr. Nojima is great!
I don't remember the date of my last appointment, it was a few years ago, but I went to Dr Nojima regularly for several years. I love him! I moved to a new area and the drive was just too far in LA traffic! Dr. Nojima would spend a lot of time with me and he got to feel like a friend, we called him "The Jimes"! He would usually have me lie with ice or heat on my back for a few minutes before an adjustment, he would spend time assessing my pain and massaging the areas where I had discomfort before he adjusted me. My pain usually lessened after leaving his office and often went away completely.
I would highly recommend him if you are in his area!

    Southern Calfornia Orthopedic Institute
The appointment scheduler I spoke to was very helpful, and pleasant. She found my husbands medical information right away so he didn't have to fill out forms again. He was scheduled for an appointment within a few days. The receptionist when he arrived for the appointment was also very helpful, and friendly. She made sure all his information was updated and correct. He was taken in to a consultation room to wait for the doctor.
The appointment quickly went downhill from there. The doctor was extremely dismissive and brusque. He seemed like he was too busy to be bothered with my husband's problems. He did not listen to my husband's descriptions of the symptoms he was having, and interrupted him before he was finished describing them. The doctor actually stood up and walked out of the room while my husband was still trying to explain. Then a medical assistant came in to tell him that the doctor had referred him to another doctor in the practice, and that he was to be scheduled for a nerve conduction study.
We decided not to see the other doctor he had referred us to, based on his attitude and dismissive treatment. We sought treatment at another office.
We have had great treatment at this office before. The receptionists, x-ray technicians, and billing people are all very friendly and helpful. I would still consider going here for treatment. However, there are a lot of different physicians that work here and not all of them are caring or compassionate.

    Jaivin,M.D., Jonathan s.
The first appointment with Dr. Jaivin was good. We talked about symptoms and he wanted me to have the NVT test to confirm that I had Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome. The NVT was negative and my nerves seemed fine. On the follow up appointment, Dr. Jaivin told me that he still thought I had Tarsal Tunnel and that 10% of those with it tested negative on the NVT. When I asked what my options were, he told me I should have surgery to correct it and that other than that, I could try physical therapy but that was about it.
When I told my Rheumatologist about this, he scoffed and said there are several nerve pain medications and that this was a an option other than surgery. At least to try it first! He put me on Norontin and I immediately got a great deal of relief. What really bothers me here is not that Dr. Jaivin was not wrong about the possibility of Tarsal Tunnel, but that he is obviously a surgeon who wants to perform surgery. Even though he said outright that surgery and quot;may work and it may not.and quot; He did NOT choose to lay out the reality of all my options, which included well known nerve pain medications. Isn't this his job? These meds are not narcotics, btw. They are commonly prescribed long term for this condition, neuromas, plantar conditions.
If it wasn't for some research and follow through on my part, I would have just had expensive surgery that and quot;mightand quot; have worked. It was clearly a lie by omission on Dr. Jaivin's part to withhold this information, sciatica, etc.
So I guess if you know you want surgery or need a cast, go to this Doctor. If you want all the options, then you'll need a second opinion.

    Perez, Dr. Margaret
It went really well. Dr. Perez listened to my description, explored possible options,
noted that it was too painful to touch and that I was really uncomfortable with being
manipulated (physically) and altered her course of treatment to accomodate my
    stress levels.
The treatment itself was pleasant and extremely effective.
Dr. Perez has very confident hands and I quickly felt I could trust my spine to her care.
I will work with her from now on.
