    RANCHO SAN DIEGO ANIMAL HOSPITAL
She was my daughter's vet, so we kind of just followed suit when we got to Spring Valley because we didn't know any of them. The practice has changed a lot since we been going to her. She had a much bigger clientele and now it's quite a bit smaller. She was trying to retire and had a lot of vets working for her and one left and went to the emergency clinic and she keeps replacing them. She is terribly terribly expensive but they all are. She is quite good, quite concerned, but she's pricey. She's kind of got me between a rock and a hard place because my dog has seizures and so we finally got her set on medication and seems to hold her to one or two a month. She see's her about 8 times a year. They are our second home. I thing I don't like is that Dr. Brown is never there. Every time I go to see somebody, it's a different vet. She has had wonderful, wonderful practice. It's an all-female practice. She is excellent. When she is not there, she get's back to us right away. Punctuality is pretty poor. If you have an 11 o'clock appointment, your lucky if you get in by noon.

ANIMAL MEDICAL CENTER OF EL COUNTY
VCA Animal Medical Center of El Cajon.
    600 Broadway.
I am so very thankful to find this place. I had a young dog
with a blown out knee, a family tragedy, and a vet of 4 years who blew me off
for 9 days wasting precious time. He couldn?t even give me a ball park price in
that time. Then, they only screwed up every single step before surgery. I got
my deposit back (which they also screwed up) right after going to VCA. I also
did not need a deposit at VCA.
I took Jr. to VCA without an appointment and signed in. A
few minutes later I was talking with Carol. I told her of the family tragedy,
bad vet, and blown knee. She reached behind her as we talked and pulled in Lisa
Flemming without missing a word, smooth move Carol!  A few minutes after that, I had a cost
breakdown in my hand, and all my questions answered. The two ladies could not
have been more knowledgeable and professional, wow. I could tell that all
standards and practices were in place and the staff was well versed and trained.
This,..is a well run, modern, high standards and practices, organized, organization.
From the ?Little Shop of Errors? where I had been, it felt like I had traveled
forward a few hundred dog years in time.
Post-op, Kim brought Jr. to an exam room and went over
everything with me and sent home info and directions, even a cd to show typical
post op progress. I have told everyone I speak with at VCA how well we have
been treated and what a great sense of confidence their efforts give me. I told
Kim how great Dr. Hemple has been with me. It turns out that Kim has a 31 year
working relationship with Doc. Wow, more confidence.
We pinch ourselves that we found VCA in time. All went
really well and Jr. is home and napping next to me. It?s like we went from
stone age to space age. From the 3 stooges to the A Team. The bill even came
out less than Mo, Larry, & Curley Inc.,?pinch me again.
Thank you Carol for listening so well, for caring, and for all
the cool and competent people around you. I?d also like to thank Katrina and
Jamie and the several cool doggies I got to pet. VCA gave me great peace of
mind to get home and take care of my GF.
I won?t mention the name of the Vet-I-buried-at-wounded-knee
but he has now earned the review (posted everywhere) that he once tried
to bribe me for?he can keep the $20. Just don?t go anywhere near ?Fuerte? and Avocado
and you?ll be fine. Go see Carol at VCA (she even speaks fluent Chihuahua).
    With great appreciation,
Jim Donohue, Paula Anderson, Jr., Tanner, and Titan.

    FUERTE ANIMAL HOSPITAL
    Fuerte Animal Hospital or,
?How I buried my vet at wounded knee?

Just a terrible, horrible, no good facility
You may not see it at first,? BUT ?they will absolutely FAIL
you in time and at the wrong time or the worst time.
I had been a client with 3 dogs for 4 plus years. My
youngest dog blew out his knee and needed knee cap surgery. I called for a
price explaining I had a family tragedy and that all I needed for now was a
price (so I could think a little ahead on money). It took me extra phone calls
that were ignored, emails they don?t return and a final, passionate plea to
just get me a price. It took me 9
days just to hear a range from $900-$3000!? I should be able to get a
    ?range? on my first try.
This is how they treat a 4 year client? I decided to go
ahead because our family tragedy (a murdered grandchild) and my very distraught
SO, needed my full attention. That and Jr?s bad knee was calling for a fix soon.
I had a face to face with Doc on these issues. He had shaken
my faith a few months back when he offered money for a review! Who does that?
Why would anyone trust a paid-for-review? It turned out FAH had some very
negative reviews that he wanted to bury.  And, that their very out of date, pre-dos
forms scare me. And, that there never seems to be anyone in charge. He made
nice, nice, shook my hand, and then promptly turned me over to two untrained
newbies who made 4 more mistakes with my case. (doc may hear you but he does
    not listen,
does not compute or think ahead)
I tried to get the wheels back on track with doc and Shiree
the next day. A return trip I had to make due to ANOTHER of their mistakes. I
told them, ?I am trying to spend $3000 with you, I want to get my dog fixed!? ?I
don?t have the bandwidth to deal with delays and mistakes.? ?Please..pay
attention, don?t drop the ball, and get my dog fixed.?
Folks?it?s useless. They do not get it. There are out of
date things everywhere I look, it makes you wonder what you can?t see? There is
NO office manager. There is no unified communication. It will NOT matter who
told you what yesterday. Doc is unable to listen to a client. He just locks on
his zombie stare and keeps on talking. They do not train new hires, YOU do.
They cannot comprehend customer complaints or feedback. They have no capacity
for insight. You will NOT get an apology. Fuerte will NOT take any action to
address your issue or concerns. They completely fail biz 101. HR even worse.
    Common sense died here.
In 40+ years in business, management, sales, marketing,
human relations, etc?.I have never seen a more rudderless ship. Doc does not believe
in elevating his people, I asked. I?ll guarantee you no staff member has ever
taken a business course, management course, human relations course. Heck?I doubt
they understand their computer, PDF?s, spreadsheets, jpegs or, YIKES!... ?modern
client tracking? S/W.  Doc seems fixated
on saving pennies at my expense. He has no clue if he is losing clients or
gaining clients, I know, I asked him direct questions. These are all signs of a
guy, too close to selling off and retiring to care or even try. I have seen
    this many, many times before.
20 years ago I had a new SD vet that put my pets
picture on all my paperwork and sent a card on my pets birthday. Sure, the S/W
did it but it shows something. That vet had a clue, stayed current, and had an
office manager leading a unified team. Fuerte, ?circa 196 2? I?m surprised they
    have electricity.
Update?I took Jr?s x-rays from Fuerte to several other vets
STILL trying to get him help. They looked at me like, ?where did you get
those?? It seems film x-rays went out in 1998. Huge shock!, they use digital sensors
in 2015. Biggest plus for Fido is much less radiation. Way better pics and
info. Hmmm,?I?ll have to turn off the lights tonight and see if Jr. glows? Analog
    v digital here;

Update. I went to CVA in EC. WOW! Even without an
appointment, in 15 minutes, I got to talk with 2 very knowledgeable people (Carol
& Lisa Flemming, take a bowJ)
who answered all my questions and put an itemized surgery cost printout in my
    hand!! Totally professional!
***Here?s a hoot. When I cancelled my deposit for surgery at
Fuerte, they could not credit my card..they had to mail me a check because of
some quirk in THEIR daily forms. EVERYONE else on the planet credits the card
on the spot. And then they screwed up the check..ay-yi-yi!
    ?Little Shop of Errors? indeed?.
Jim Donohue, Titan, Tanner, & Jr., 4 ex Fuerte/Dr. Davis
    clients.
Ps. To the many other dogs I?ve cared for, helped, loved and
    trained?
    ?EH!?   (they?ll know
    exactly what I mean)

Dogs on the Run - East County
My husband and I have been using Nancy's doggy daycare/overnight services for about 6 months now whenever we are out of town or our 2 girls just need a play day with their doggy friends. To keep it short and sweet - we love Nancy, and our dogs do, too. They always get super excited whenever we are getting off the freeway to go to her house and forget I even exist the moment they see her. We love that Nancy keeps us in the loop during their stay with cute picture messages and little updates, and we can sleep easy at night knowing that they are snuggled up cozy as can be in a bed or on the couch versus in a cold kennel. Nancy is a great communicator, has wonderful availability, her prices are incomparable, and (most importantly) she LOVES all of the pooches that she cares for. It shows. She even checks in just when our girls are home to see how all fares. We are so happy that we found her and a and quot;home away from homeand quot; for our girls. I highly recommend Nancy for all of your doggy daycare/overnight needs.

Vets To Pets Mobile Veterinary Srvc
I contacted Dr. Redfield, after finding her via Google, on the 22nd of August. We set an appointment for the next day for 10 AM.

Dr. Redfield was here at exactly 10 AM and walked into a bit of chaos. There were plumbers and an air cond tech here at the same time. :( She came in and immediately attended to Cody, my dog. He was comfortable with her and showed absolutely no anxiety.

Dr. Redfield took a great deal of time with Cody while examining him and giving him meds. She made some very practical suggestions regarding future care, including the possible need for surgery. (Surgery would not be performed by her, but at a well known clinic in the La Mesa area, should it be determined as essential.)

I would like to be able to put into words her ability to calm an entire area just by her presence, but it truly has to be experienced. I have 3 cats that hide anytime anyone comes in. Due to the contractors that were here, I had them locked in a downstairs room. Once I let them out, they didn't head upstairs as they normally would, but instead stopped and sat watching her for quite some time. This is the 1st time this has ever happened, reinforcing her special presence.

The fact that I did not have to try and put Cody, (100 lbs. prox), into a vehicle and take him out of the house, which would have surely resulted in a seizure at a clinic, was an absolute plus. The services this firm provides in home include almost everything anyone owned by a pet would want. (X-rays, surgery, etc. are not done in home.)

I would recommend Dr. Redfield to all, without hesitation and will be calling on her again. While it costs a bit more to have her come to your home compared to standard office visits, it is well worth it in not having your animals suffer from anxiety, travel, etc.

I've been using their service for two years now and they are very good. I feel they are the best company that is listed on Angie's List. If you would take your puppies there, you would call and thank me for recommending them. I recommend them to any and everyone.

    SPRING VALLEY VETERINARY CLINIC
Dr. Simpson's is a real great veterinarian. The staff and all the vets show a lot of love and compassion towards the animals. They have a lot of confidence in their work, which is comforting for me and my pet.

    VCA BROADWAY ANIMAL HOSPITAL
BROADWAY ANIMAL HOSPITAL HAS BEEN WONDERFUL TO MY PETS, AND TO MY FAMILY. WE HAD TAKEN OUR ROTT TO A COUPLE OF OTHER VETS WHO WERE NOT ABLE TO HANDLE HIM, AND SEEMED TO BE AFRAID OF HIM. BROADWAY ANIMAL HOSPITAL WAS AMAZING WITH HIM. HE WAS SO EXCITED TO GO TO THE VET, WHEN BEFORE IT HAD BEEN A STRUGGLE. THEY PROVIDED OUTSTANDING SERVICE EVEN THROUGHOUT THE PERIOD OF HIM HAVING CANCER.

    PETCO
MY DOG IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GROOM. I USED TO GROOM HIM, BUT IT GOT WORSE. THEN I TOOK HIM TO PETCO AND EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT HE DOES NOT LIKE TO BE GROOMED AT ALL. HE HATES BLOW DRYING, BUT THEY ARE ABLE TO GET IT DONE. THEY DO PUT A MUZZLE ON HIM BECAUSE HE DID SNAP AT THEM ONCE, BUT OTHER THAN THAT, THEY ARE ABLE TO GET IT DONE AND THEY HAVE HIM MORE COMFORTABLE WITH GETTING IT DONE BY THEM. HE IS MORE COOPERATIVE.
