    Skinner Swim Pool Plastering Inc
I rarely write reviews. However, I felt compelled to write a review after my recent, unfortunate experience with Skinner Pools. I hired Skinner Pools in March of 2019 to re-plaster my pool. The project was completed by mid-April. While filling the pool back up, I noticed two large black splotches on the plaster in the deep end of the pool. I sent pictures to Skinner, and they told me not to worry about it. About a month later, the splotches were still there. In fact all of the plaster in the pool was discolored to some degree. I eventually contacted Skinner pools to see if there was anything that could be done. To their credit, they sent the owner Kyle out to take a look. He tried to sand the plaster down in a few spots to see if that would help. It didn't. He tried to apply some acid in a few spots as well. That didn't help either. He agreed that it looked terrible, and he also agreed that he would be upset if his personal pool looked this way. He said the only solution would be to re-plaster the pool again. He proposed that he could re-plaster the pool at his cost of $5160. As you can imagine, I wasn't thrilled about spending another $5K to fix something that the contractor screwed up. I had already paid him $15,780, for the initial job. In addition, re-plastering a pool requires the pool to be drained and refilled. It also requires a lot of work and expense to care for a pool that has been newly re-plastered. Trying to be fair, I proposed that I pay him $1000 to do the re-plaster. I argued that the $15K I had already paid him, plus the $1000 would cover all of his costs for both plasters. I sent that proposal to Skinner Pools on August 1st. I have tried to contact him twice after that. Still no response. So, in summary, I strongly recommend you look for another pool contractor that will stand by their work.

    Wilson's Carpet Care
Quick response and scheduling. Tony arrived on time and did a quality job cleaning the carpets. Professional, courteous and efficient, it was all a snap to take care of and I'm very pleased with the results. I'll call on Wilson's Carpet Care again when we need our new office carpets cleaned in future.

    Estate Property Management (EPM) Inc
Over the year and a few months that we rented the property, Estate Property Management (EPM) were the absolute best group to work with.  They were responsive to all our needs, never discounted our concerns, followed up with different repair and maintenance people and companies, and took great care to respect our privacy throughout our rental period.  Nancy Sawin was the property manager assigned to our rental house and she was great.  Nancy always answered the phone, during work hours and at other times.  She was very friendly and helpful overtime we were in contact with her.  And her boss, Lance, was always there to support her efforts so that the outcome was always perfect.  They are a great team as well as the other employees of EPM who helped us out with a very quick move out at the end of our rental period.  EPM did an extremely fair job of representing the property owner as well as us the tenants.  They did all the right things even when it was difficult.  They are the best property management company in this County and are great at what they do.

They are a family business and easy to work with. We met to look and samples and took some home to compare. After making our order they came out to measure and give us a quote. It wasn't cheap, but it was a high quality carpet and the total price was comparable.  Their work crew did a thorough and professional job. We are very satisfied with the carpet and the work done. It is nice to be able to get service work done by a local company. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

    Bekins Van Lines, Inc
I will start this review by saying we were extremely happy with Bekins.  We had not done an interstate move in over twenty years and this move was very successful.  Both of the Tucson based customer representatives were very professional and kept us informed of the status of our move prior to the truck being loaded.  The driver and the Phoenix based loading crew he brought with him were excellent.  They were very friendly and extremely effective.  They took great care with our furniture, wrapping it to protect it.  The driver was our point of contact during the transit to California.  He delivered our load on the day he projected and stayed in contact with us during the trip to let us know his status.  Cellphone contact is an amazing tool and this driver, Don, was in contact with us throughout.  Our delivery date and his schedule required delivery on Mother's Day, which was fine with us.  He arranged a person to help unload on that day.  The delivery went very well.  Our furniture was delivered and unloaded in excellent condition.  As mentioned earlier, this was our first interstate move in 20 years so I don't have information on other moves and companies to compare but Bekins did an excellent job on this move and we would definitely use Bekins for any other moves we have in the future.

    Tapia's Tree Service
The Tapia Tree Service team showed up at 8am and walked around with me to establish the extent of the work I wanted done.
The crew then went to work.  As they came upon a situation that required my approval, they asked before continuing. I really appreciated this.  They were willing to provide good advice but asked what I wanted even if it was against their advice.
Several of the trees in the back yard were overhanging my Bocce court.  I asked that they be careful of the court and not drop heavy limbs which would gouge the decomposed granite surface of the court.  They not only honored that request, when they were done they cleaned the court of everything they dropped, everything that was there when they arrived and brushed the court.  Excellent !!!
They removed a pear tree and ground the stump.  When done, they refilled the hole and cleaned up the area.
When done with all the work, they cleaned up my yard better than it was when they arrived.  The workers were courteous, and did everything I asked.
I have not had this quality of service before.  Great Job!

Bertin Pulido Garden And Tree Service
Bertin would listen to what you want without writing any notes.  He provided estimates that were a single amount without detail.
The first job was to remove all the grass by removing the top 3" to 4" of soil.  All of the existing sprinklers had been capped below the ground and marked.  The markers were to remain for identification but that did not happen in all cases and a drain clean-out was damaged (inexpensive plastic part but there was no attempt on his part to replace it).
Then we had a path of concrete pavers put in with patterning on the top to look like stone.  This was done fairly well.  There were extensive forms used and rebar installed.  There was one area where the paver was too high and they fixed it.  The biggest issue we had with this was the lack of cleanup.  After complaining it was mostly corrected.
Finally we had the capped off sprinklers replaced with low flow rotators (better than drip for native plants).  I gave Bertin the part numbers and he said he would take care of it.  When he showed up that Tuesday morning with a crew to do the work, he said that the parts were discontinued and he would take $100 off the bill if I bought the parts.  I immediately went to a local landscape supply and found the parts on the shelf (they were not discontinued).  When I returned his crew was gone.  They returned the next day at 4pm.  They came off and on until the job was completed on Saturday evening.  His crew had no regard for the existing plants as there digging resulted in dirt on existing garden plants.  They also failed to cleanup the up the yard when the job was complete.  I even had to tell them to fill in the dirt around one of the sprinklers.  Then he said it was only $50 off the bill, as that should cover the gas I spent.
Finally he had offered to mulch my entire yard 3" deep for a fixed sum of $300.  That is a great price for approximately 24 cubic yards of mulch .  He brought samples of the mulch and it was acceptable.  Then when I asked to schedule the mulch, Bertin said it was $400.  Although that was still a very good price, I would rather pay 3 times the cost to someone else.  I refuse to deal with Bertin Pulido ever again.

They did a great job. They were also very professional in their behavior. They didn't make us wonder when they were coming back or anything like that or wonder what the price was going to be either, they told us up front.

    Jean-Paul DeMeure
This is Jean-Paul's second project for me and it will not be the last. He finished on time and on budget and the result is fabulous.  His subs are professional and expert and I enjoyed working with all of them.
