    I made an appointment for an morning arrival time because I work. They called an asked if they could change the appointment date which I said was ok. Then the morning of the appointment they called and said they were going to be late, about 2 hours. I waited. Then 2.5 hours after the original appointment time I called them and asked where they were. They said they were on their way and would be another 30 minutes. I took off from work and lost the entire morning.

    I went to the one in Delmar and they were quite helpful. At least I have a signal here for a little while. I have to use them because Verizon doesn't work here. I don't have any issues with them. They are very nice and they do what they can over the phone.

    Mostly I call them on the phone when the TV grows weird. I'm still having an issue. It takes 5 hours just to get through To somebody live. They have that one hour window thing. They should fix the problem that I have. They've just upgraded their TV. A lot of these older homes have a wiring that probably can't handle the new upgraded HD service. Unfortunately if you just change the wiring, you end up having to pay for it. They could upgrade the home owners wiring to accommodate the new HD signal.

    Everything was done efficiently and professionally from the estimate to the delivery of the last piece of furniture.  They packed on the first day and moved everything on the second day.  There was a breakage of a piece of tempered glass that had been simply laying on top of a media cabinet.  As I was not aware this piece was detached I did not warn the movers and it got shattered during the move.  However, once I got MSJ the manufacturer they immediately ordered a new glass cover and delivered it to us within 3 weeks (The delay was the manufacturer's not MSJ's). They remained courteous and helpful throughout the process. I would use this company again, but would also recommend that anyone moving get insurance.  Some snafu's are bound to happen, especially with high-end furniture pieces.

    My experience with Trident (in San Diego-I don't know if they are each independent) was so bad that it was traumatic, and I want to spare others. I purchased a policy (for my mom) 3 years ago and was very clear that I went with them because they promised "one phone call" service. Instead they got information crossed, did not return phone calls, needed last minute paperwork and unmentioned expenses, told me a different case manager's name every time I called, and took MUCH longer than they promised to do everything. Their incompetence injected stress and chaos unnecessarily into an already very hard time. Plus they were expensive, I fell for the illusion that it would translate into better service/responsiveness.

    I was pleasantly surprised to see they had (limited) Sunday hours, and didn't expect anyone would answer since it was the Sunday between Christmas and New Years. Terry did answer, quizzed me on model info, symptoms and issues. He then suggested a solution and said to call him back if that didn't work. I had tried a lot of things on my own to no avail. His approach worked and I called him back to thank him. It is quite refreshing that someone didn't just say and quot;I'll send someone outand quot; to get some billing. I was very happy with the engagement., limited as it was, due to his willingness to try an immediate and no-cost fix.

    Our trusty 37-year-old Singer Stylist abruptly stopped working (the hand wheel couldn't be turned), so we called Roy.  He stopped by our house the next day to pick up the machine, promising to return within 24 hours.  Roy performed a general overhaul: replacing a mangled pair of feed gears, cleaning and lubricating all moving parts, and fine-tuning the needle.  As promised, he returned the fully rehabilitated machine the next morning.  Roy is an affable gentleman and a skilled technician.

    We have used Nevin Handyman Services for many projects because the quality of the work and the friendly professionalism of Joey Nevin can't be matched. For our most recent project we called him to paint the exterior of our house. He came over the next day to review our needs and submitted a free estimate via email to us within 2 business days. The price was less then we expected and he was able to start the project the following week. He completed the work on time and within budget. We couldn't be happier with the results. Our house looks 10 years younger :)

    I was disappointed at how poorly my initial service call turned out. I wanted to support a local business and so called Goldens Television to perform a cleaning and maintenance call on a 53" rear projection TV. When I spoke to Susan, we were doing fine until we got to the price. I was told that the minimum charge for service was$154.95, the technician would come over and determine the final amount but if it was over $154.95 that amount would be applied toward my bill. Fine. What I did not like was the fact that she was very reluctant to give me even a ballpark on how much the service could be and when I explained that I did not want to go over $300, she became agitated about not being able to give me a quote over the phone. I explained that I was not expecting a quote but just a ballpark idea, she then informed me that the $154.95 would be due even if I decided not to go ahead with the repair and when I commented that it seemed a little high and that I might need to check around, SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!! I called another company next and they are coming out in 2 days and their service call only fee is $89. I understand needing to pay something for taking up a technicians time, but $154.95 for possibly just a quote seems unfair.
