  • We remodeled our kitchen, living room and guest bathroom few months ago with 4 season remodeling & design. We are very happy, pleased and proud of our selves that we selected Jacob from all the other ones that we met and talked to. Jacob understood our idea and needed and all the way he was able to give us many wonderful ideas and suggestions while helping us with the selection of all the final materials including paint colors and design. Jacob really made our remodeling project very easy and perfect. He was very good at what he does and we are really happy with the new outcome of the work.

  • The remodel of our kitchen has been completed for about a month now and we just love it. Danielle helped us with the selection of cabinet finishes, counter tops, and back splash, based on my stated preferences for style and working with the existing flooring style and colors. She even helped redesign the layout to be more efficient and provide us with the full pantry our previous kitchen lacked. They gutted the kitchen and laundry room. Their crews did all of the electrical, plumbing, cabinet installation, tiling, and did some additions to the existing flooring as required by the removal of the old cabinets. They were able to match the levels of wood laminate in the dining area to the kitchen tiles so that there was no need for a transition strip between the two. The work took about 6 weeks - slightly longer than the 5 weeks estimated. Anything I brought up that wasn't right was fixed immediately without argument or complaint. The only glitch was a delay at the beginning because they prefer to estimate everything but the contract work, which left us wondering about the final cost. After talking to our neighbor, who also used Kitchens Etc a few years ago, we called Dean and he agreed to come out and provide us with the complete estimate. We are happy we did that.

  • Karen went over budget, the project was never finished and she failed to return our deposit. We had to take her to court to get our deposit back. We received a $4,105 decission from Ventura Court, but Karen filed bankruptcy (case #9:16-bk-11207-PC) so we never got our money back. The contractors she recommended were subpar and the items she ordered was of the lowest quality. Hiring Karen Andrea was the worst thing I have ever done. I could have done a much better job myself. Don't hire this company, you'll be sorry.

  • Estimated 6 to 8 weeks, took 9. Came in with 10% of initial budget, we added several items not originally in the budget. Kitchens Etc, performed our initial kitchen and bath remodel several years ago and we would not have anyone else do similar work. Working with Dean and Michelle makes a disruptive experience more tolerable as they are involved in every step of the process, visiting the job site each and every day. Minor problems and minor problems and modifications are dealt with very quickly and easily. When one of the plumbers stepped through the Bathroom floor into our kitchen ceiling, Kitchens Etc just fixed the problems with no questions asked and with any real disruptions. When the bathroom tile floor went in, it did not match the sample we picked out, so they just took up the tiles and replaced them with a tile we eventually selected when were able to pick out new floor tiles.
Kudos to Willie the dry wall technician as he solved what could have been a costly shower tile installation. He is the best.
All the work done was to our complete satisfaction and we would definitely recommend using Kitchens Etc. We are very satisfied with our newly designed and updated Master Bath.

  • We gave Karen two strict rules about the project.  Don't go over budget and don't allow criminals into our home.  She violated both those rules during the project.   The first person Karen hired to do the demo for the kitchen looked like he was straight out of prison. He never showed up to start the work.  We were unable to contact him.  We still haven't heard from him.  Karen told us at the begining of the job that she has been doing this for 28 years and has worked with all her contractors for many years. I'm positive the contractors she hired for the flooring and the counter tops are on the terrorist watch list. Not people you would want in your home and around your family.
Karen failed to provide us with completed color diagrams of what she was planing to do before starting the project.  My family already had a pretty good idea of what we wanted so I wasn't to concerned at first.  I asked her many times to see a completed diagram for the bedroom, but she still has never provided us with the sketch.  I noticed some of the prices Karen was charging us for basic services were very high.  I realized we were going to be over budget before the project was completed.  I asked Karen to provide us with an estimated budget for the $40,000 project.  Karen provided us with an itemized budget plan of $38,000 for the project.  The only problem was Karen forgot to include the first two items of the contract in her estimate.  Karen forgot to include the kitchen cabinets ($10,000) and the counter tops ($2,000) in the estimate.  That mistake put us $10,000 over budget right from the start.  When I pointed out her mistake all she could say was,"really?"
Her math for her budget wasn't her only mistake.  Karen was unable to measure the dementions of the kitchen which caused cabinets of the wrong size to be ordered.  Karen fixed the problem by having me pay partial cost of the cabinet which was ordered
incorrectly because she can't read a tape measure.
We have spent $48,000 to date on this project and the house is still not finished.  We asked Karen to apply the $4,000 deposit we gave her for the final project (since we have already spent $8,000 over the original estimate),  but Karen is demanding we spend another $5,000 before she will apply the $4,000 to the final project.  I believe that's a form of extortion.
Karen's idea for designing a room is to go on the internet, find items she thinks will work in the room, and drag them to a blank screen.  Karen then sends you an overlay of the items for your approval.  I have never seen a designer do that before.
Bottom line, Karen has average design skills (at best), she is unable to create or stay on a budget plan, hires shady workers, charges higher than avarge prices and doesn't honor the terms of her contract.  Karen Andrea Interior Designs is NOT a company I would recommend to a friend.

  • I couldn't be more impressed with Ev! I told her about the things I wanted help with and she came prepared. She's kind and listens. She came up with a lot of great, innovative ideas I didn't think of. I would highly recommend Ev and I can't wait to use her again!

  • I have been doing one project a year since I retired 2 years ago, and this year I took on a completed downstairs renovation, which included a kitchen, bath, den , living and dining rooms, entryway and a couple of closets. I started the contractor interviews in April and May and selected Kitchens Etc from a list of 4 contractors. I interviewed 3 contractors and Dean and Michelle from Kitchens Etc impressed my the most. The have over 30 years experience doing kitchens and baths, and both compliment each others skills so that there is little of no guess work by the customer. Michelle is there to provide the design and creative side of the team and Dean provides all the mechanical and engineering expertise.
They domo'd to the studs the kitchen and bath and took up the existing floors in early July. Over the course of the next 8 weeks all the plumbing, electrical, insulation, wallboard, cabinet, fixtures, appliances, granite, tile, floors, paint and anything else that goes with a complete new kitchen and bath was performed pretty darn close to schedule.
Kitchens Etc does not use subcontractors, as all the technicians are employees and did an outstanding job. Their attention to detail resulted in not only in a beautiful kitchen and bath, but an extremely functional space as well. Either Dean or Michelle or both visited the job in progress daily and kept me informed of what was planned for each day. Both worked to resolve design issues and worked extremely hard to keep the job on schedule while allowing for changes I made during the project. They were easy to work with and provided their honest opinions and input when needed.
I will be using Kitchens Etc when I remodel my master bath for my next project and can say I would highly recommend this company to anyone considering a new kitchen and/or bath. The quality is outstanding, the service is superb and the results just beautiful.

  • We explored different designs and sketches for the bathrooms, kitchen, living room/mantle and back patio. Aided in transforming ideas to paper, and paper to a working model. The downstairs bathroom was modified from a moldy den into a vibrant Beatles theme. The redesign of the downstairs made the house feel like new.
The new screened patio allows us to really enjoy the back yard free from bugs.
They were extremely punctual and reachable at quite odd hours. Pricing was competitive, and inline with the quality of service--a comfortable arrangement.

  • They started on time, worked diligently, finished on time and on budget. Nathan's (Sales Manager) help throughout the design process was invaluable... If you use this company and are fortunate to have Nathan to work with: Listen to him! Natalie (Project Co-ordinator) helped us navigate throughout the process by communicating both where we were and where we were headed... This experience re-affirmed my faith that there is such a thing as a contractor you can depend on!
