How to Make Kitchen Appliances Last Longer

Appliance Repair reviews in Simi Valley

    Lerman Appliances
Great experience! Called to make appointment, receptionist asked me to send a video showing how my dryer was acting up. Sent the video and within 30 minutes a technician called me to schedule the appointment. SEt up the appointment at exactly the time I needed - to accomodate my schedule. Repair technician arrived at EXACTLY the time the appointment was scheduled. He explained what was wrong, had the parts I needed and repaired it. He was in and out within an hour. How does it get any better than that?

They sent someone out who didn't know what he was doing and wasn't careful with his equipment. He broke one of the tabs off and said "it's just plastic." He was totally unprofessional and completely unqualified. He had no clue what he was doing. I told him I didn't think he was going to be able to do the repair and he said, "yeah, you better call whirlpool," and left in a hurry.

    Airflow Appliance Repair
It was OK. He had to come out a couple of times. Besides the one issues that was wrong with it, there was another issue that he didn't locate the first time he was with us, but other than that it was fine. He had to come out 3 different times. On price, probably would be the same as anybody else. I think the majority of the pricing was they had to order a new drum which was probably the biggest amount of the whole bill. On quality, good. They did respond quickly. I would possibly use them again.

I called and made an appointment. Paulina in the office was extremely pleasant and helpful. The tech came out and assessed the problem immediately and the new part was ordered. A week later I called and scheduled an appointment to have the tech comeback and install the new part. The dryer is working fine now. I used the $39 service call deal and received a credit back on my bill. I did think that even with the credit the price for the work was a bit high. Overall, I was very satisfied that the process went smoothly.

    Sears Appliance Repair
They came out to repair the dryer, but they figured out that the vents were clogged. Service guy was excellent. They were able to diagnose the problem quickly and they were honest. They did not try to sell me repair work or parts that were not needed.

Prime Master has come out to our house per America Home Shield dispatch 4 times to fix a leaking AC Unit and it still leaked...they finally blamed it on a main line blockage and stated a plumber is needed. The plumber inspection stated the plumbing is fine and not the cause. Prime Master advised American Home Shield that nothing is wrong with my AC it's working perfect. I called Prime Master and advised them what the plumber reported and their supervisor said "the plumber is an idiot!" That is not professional for the vendor to say that nor was the vendor condescending attitude acceptable...this is my experience with Prime Master! And my AC is still leaking!

    Appliance Attack
I called these guys when my fridge stopped cooling. I talked to the owner, Billy, around 9:30AM and was able to get an appointment for that afternoon. The inspection and repair took just over an hour. Straight forward and super easy to deal with!

    Appliance Attack
I called Appliance Attack (Phone number: 323 484-3246)on the recommendation of a friend, because my washer stopped working -i.e. not filling up with water. Billy asked me the brand and model number and he assessed the situation and likely cause and brought the parts over. Billy came at the time stated, he pointed out that the hose connections were easy to cross-thread(which I had accidentally done) he troubleshot the problem quickly(faulty water valve-stuck in the off position) and had the part in stock with him. He repaired the washer quickly and at a very fair price. I found him very professional and friendly and would use him again for sure. He seemed very knowledgeable and explained everything to me about the repair. He told me I had a very reliable machine that should give me many more years of service-which was nice to hear.

    American Home Shield Home Warranty
The second technician from Active Appliances of Van Nuys CA had no knowledge of the problem with the washer when he arrived. No information had been provided to him on the nature of the problem or previous diagnosis from either American Home Shield or the previous technician. I walked him to the laundry room where he began to examine the washer. I left to convene my work in another room. After about 15 minutes of hard pounding (apparently by a hammer) and some other examination, the technician emerged and reported he could not fix it. He left.
After no calls from AHS, I called them to inquire on the status of the parts that the initial service technicians indicated were required. AHS told me they now had a report from the second technician and that the outage on the washer we caused by nonroutine use and that the coverage on my policy was denied. They would not pay. That was completely contrary to what the first technician told me on January 9 when he visited my home and diagnosed a parts failure and a circuit board short. He even showed me a picture of the supposedly  failed circuit board!
When challenging the decision by AHS, they became rude and aggressive and told me I could call the appeals department. I called them yesterday. That was a total waste of time. They immediately repeated the position that they denied the claim, despite my protests and attempts to question why the first technician told me it was a parts failure and a circuit board!!! They said I could request another service call but if the service tech finds they can support the denied claim; I would have to pay another $100.00!!!  My washer remains broken and am forced to buy new with no reimbursement from my AHS policy which has been in place for at least two years.
Do not sign up for an American Home Shield policy!! They have extremely poor customer service and may even be a scam to sell appliance insurance. While the promises made in the insurance policy may sound good, actually getting a claim processed through their service partner network (the technicians don't carry parts) is wrought with inefficiencies and poor communication and likely designed to generate the $100 service fee as apposed to actually fixing the problem. Better to find a reputable appliance service provider through Angies list than to pay monthly for an insurance policy through AHS, rely on them to follow though, and have to rely on the AHS network of providers!!  I would also not hire Active Appliances to service any appliances. Their technicians were unreliable, poor communicators and in my situation, not truthful.

I had done my research before buying and decided on Bosch dishwasher to replace my LG.   I checked the three stores in the area that sold Bosch (here, Lowes and Best Buy).   I decided to use WDC as I had used them before and felt it would be a better experience with a store that sold appliances as its main business (not hardware or electronics).   I went early and met with the saleswoman Takoa who helped me with the entire sale.   I saw the dishwasher I wanted - price was right and it was available quickly.   She arranged an install service to pick up, deliver, install and haul away.  It was a painless procedure and I am happy with the new dishwasher and with WDC.
