House Painting reviews in Sierra Madre

    Classic Remodeling Inc
We hired Classic remodelers to paint the exterior of our house and install all new flooring. We also replaced a few of our smaller windows for bigger ones and the transformation is unreal. Its crazy what a little change can do for a face lift. They were reasonable, did stay on budget and kept the area clean during the week they were here. I know its not a big job but it was for us and they gave us all the courtesy and attention as if it was. Thank you Classic for being a part of the Sanchez Family spring clean up!

Tito Alcaraz Painting & Repair Specialist
Tito and his crew did an excellent job. My 91-year old Mediterranean style home badly needed complete exterior painting, restoration of several wood window/door sills and stucco repairs on house and garage. They did a beautiful job on the house and garage, and I am so pleased with it. This company is detail-oriented and takes pride in doing a good job. During the work, people driving down my street would actually slow down and tell the workers what a great job they were doing! Timing on when they could do the job happened to overlap with a foot surgery I needed. I told Tito about this before job began and he assured me they would take care of everything. And they did! They moved items that needed moving, always made sure house was secure, etc. Also, my neighbors had nothing but good things to say about them - they covered one neighbors cars (driveway was next to a painting area) and Titos crew was quiet and kept everything cleaned up. I love my newly painted and restored home. I really enjoyed working with Tito and his team. I definitely recommend them and would hire them again.

    Palatin Remodeling Inc
The short version of this review is that Gil Palatin and Palatin Remodeling are the best in the business and you should hire them immediately. Gil is honest, fair, proud of his work, committed to his time line and a good person. The long version is this: My wife and I needed to remodel our home. We had a second baby on the way and needed more space. We didn't know what we wanted to do or how to go about doing it. We called and met with 3 different contractors. The first 2 we met were good but didn't have any ideas or suggestions that stuck out to us. When we met Gil from Palatin Remodeling, we knew that he was the contractor with whom we wanted to work. He immediately had great ideas (move the kitchen from side of house to center of house), talked us out of our expensive bad ideas (no second floor), showed genuine enthusiasm for the project, was exceedingly honest about what we would have to do (move out, pricing, timing) and his pricing was fair. Additionally, he told us he could do the job in 4 months or less. This was exciting for us because we wanted to spend the least possible amount of time out of our home. After my wife and I discussed our options, we went with Gil. He immediately got to work with the design and planning portions of the project. His communication during this period was excellent (as it was during the whole project). He would call, text and email us updates as they occurred. We had never dealt with this type of project and his communication while the city dragged its feet on approving everything kept us calm. Once the plans were approved and a start date was set, Palatin got to work! I've heard horror stories about contractors starting a project and then leaving for weeks/months at a time while the house was uninhabitable and the customer could do nothing but wait. That was not the case for us! On the first day of work, a crew showed up and begin construction. Not a couple guys kicking around and pointing aimlessly; these guys came ready to get the job started and completed. It seemed as though Gil had let them know that they had 4 months to completely tear down my house and rebuild it. They got the message and responded by showing up every day and working very efficiently. The demo and rebuild went as smoothly as these things can go. There were unforeseen issues that came up (old plumbing line that needed to be completely replaced and a portion of the roof that was crumbling) but Gil always notified us immediately and explained everything. We never felt as though we were being misled or taken advantage of. This level of trust is very important when dealing with contractors because they have you in a very precarious situation. My family and I moved out at the beginning of August which meant Palatin would need to complete the job by November 30 to keep to the four month schedule. We moved back in to our home the day before Thanksgiving! Gil not only kept his word but finished ahead of schedule. I can't express how much this meant to us and how important it is to have a contractor that can hold firm to their deadlines. We used to live in a home that was built in 1948, had 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a small kitchen and separate living and dining rooms. It was a nice home with good charm but there was a lot of wasted space and it was a bit crammed. We now live in a home that was built in 2016 (on a 1948 frame), kept and increased the charm, really increased space (4th bedroom, 3rd bathroom), has all the amenities of a brand new home and is a total joy to live in. I can't speak highly enough about Gil and his business. Everyone said, "they tell you 4 months but it'll really be 6 or 8," or "they tell you 1 amount and hit you with hidden/surprise costs." We didn't experience any of that! Through and through Gil is an honest contractor whose pride and excitement in his work will not allow him to leave you with anything less than outstanding. Our quality of life has been improved incredibly because of this remodel and we have Gil, his vision and his crews to thank for that. I have recommended him to friends and will continue to use him as additional needs surface. I apologize if I sound overly enthusiastic but good work deserves good praise. Thanks for reading and I hope I made your search easier. *Please excuse the mess in the pics. We had just moved back in and had a lot of organizing to do.

    G&H Painting
Garry and his team did a fantastic job. They were very responsive to my requests, and the work was high quality. I also had these guys paint the exterior of my house a few years ago which also went well. You can count on G&H Painting to do very high quality work for a fair price.

    MF Construction & Design Inc
My husband and I highly recommend MF Construction & Design Inc. for any home remodeling or new home construction. Mike Maman made our remodeling project so easy. First of all Mike really listens. He understood what we wanted and gave us a quote (which he followed!) that was at least $10,000.00 under a quote we had been given last year and he offered a larger project. He gave us a starting date and then followed thru starting and finishing on time. Mike was also very professional when dealing our city for work permits and inspections. We appreciated how simple he made this step for us. Mikes work crew is terrific. They are careful, precise and are proud of what they do. The painter who took care of our two new window units and our new French doors took extra time and did an amazing job. We were never overwhelmed by too many workers or loud noises or the mess associated with a construction project. Everyone arrived early and everything was cleaned up before they left for the day. Our house is beautiful. My husband is so pleased because it is just what he envisioned! Mike never tried to change our minds about what we wanted he just made our ideas come to life. Everyone in our neighborhood is very impressed not just because our home is beautiful but because of what a small impact this project made on there lives. Its good to keep the neighbors happy too.

    RJ Laun Construction
It was worth every penny of it. It was challenging because the whole thing had to be supported while they were replacing a critical support beam that was rotted out. They also revised the water drainage pattern so that it wouldn't happen again. They did a competent job with something that required more than a handy man skill.

    Most Wanted Construction
I chose Most Wanted because they had good reviews and their price was much less than the other quotes I received.  Two things about the price--it was part of an Angie's List deal and I had to buy the paint myself.  Having said that, the paint was less than $1,000.  They were easy to contact by both phone and e-mail.  We had to reschedule the original date because of rain.  The owners communicated well and the on-site painter updated me on progress when I was there.
All in all, a very good experience.  I would use them again.  Some people might not want to buy their own paint, but including the paint, it was still under $3,000, thousands less than some estimates (I think the highest was $7,000), and it looks good.  They do more than paint so I may use them for other projects as well.

    GM Pacific Pro Construction
From start to finish we were very pleased with Gil and crew. Within a day after purchasing the roofing special on Angie's List, Margie from the front office called to schedule a visit. We were not ready to go ahead with the project at that time, but we called them about a month later and scheduled it. Gil (the owner) came to the house to measure, discuss what we wanted, and gave us very helpful information about venting the roof. He wrote up a quote based on our discussion (including contingencies for finding additional layers of roofing during the demo), and we scheduled the work soon after that.

The work was completed within 2 1/2 days, from demo to clean-up, The roof passed all inspections during and following the install.

The crew found two more layers of roofing than expected, one being the original tar and rock roof from the 50s. They removed all of them, repaired any damaged underlayment, removed an unused electrical connection, installed 4 dormer vents and the roof. The additional roof layers (particularly the original tar and rock) weighed more than expected, but GM kept to their original quote.

The job was a messy one, owing in part to the type of roof we have - wood slats, not plywood base. Lots of debris in the garage (no ceiling), but the crew had covered things in the garage with tarps. It was particularly messy in the garage afterwards, but the crew did an ok job cleaning it up. On the outside of the house, they also cleaned the yard up, including using a magnet to find nails. We continue to see debris (for example, the first time it rained), but nothing beyond what would be expected given the project.

During the project, Margie (front office) was in touch with us to answer any questions and provide us status reports - very helpful.

All-in-all, we are very pleased with the roof - and all the other aspects of the project. We had been given a quote almost twice as much from another company, but are so very happy we went with GM Pacific. We plan to use them again for other projects, and would highly recommend them to anyone that needs a new roof!
