  • It was an interesting and productive experience where the work was not doable at this shop itself. Angies List has no referrals for the work I want done, but Juan took the time this morning when I phoned him, to ask me questions and refer me to a place which he trusts to do this kind of work (Al & Ed's Autosound, 1890 E Walnut St, Pasadena, CA). I found this approach extraordinary and wonderful! Juan is a busy man, he doesn't have to try to help me when it does not benefit him directly! And yet, he took the time and effort to help a potential customer in the future, which is a real win-win strategy! Juan went in to detail about Joe, the owner of Al & Ed's, and explained how they will do right by me. What's more, since Angies did not offer any referrals for the work I need done in my area, I had gone to Google Reviews to find a provider for the service I need. Al &Ed's had only a couple of reviews, but what I saw there was good, so I went to them for an assessment yesterday. My impression of Joe and his store was identical to what Juan of Martin's was saying! Therefore I have extra confidence in Juan of Matin's now, as a gentleman of his word! Plus, I have extra confidence in Joe of Al & Ed's too. I am having this work done and Al &Ed's next week, and once that is done and I can evaluate the quality of their work (it will take a few days), I will write them a review on Angie's. In the meanwhile, let me summarize my interaction with Juan of Martin's as very productive, pleasant and confidence-inspiring for future needs. Thank you, Juan!

  • I know them, they do good work. They are a little bit messy, they have both their shops side by side. They don't jack up your bill and do stuff you don't need. He's got a lot of business so he doesn't need to do that. And when there's been problems that are some what mechanical, and sent the mother in laws car over there and he fixed just what was needed and said you know if you want to later on you could do this and this but your ok right now, and that's what you want in a mechanic.

  • Chris (the owner) has been taking care of my 1999 Civic and my daughter's 1995 Accord since I moved to Sierra M**** in June of 2000. Always been honest, straight-forward and performs only the work required. I have recommended Sierra M**** Independent Honda to all my colleagues where I work who own Honda's. I used to perform all my own car maintenance and repairs and know a good mechanic when I see one, I just wish he worked on Toyota's too, but his focus and specialty is Honda's.

  • I have a 2002 van from Odyssey and our son hit on one side and it look really bad so we had it repainted. It looks very beautiful. It's only that they sometimes have problems with little details; they had to replace the two front light and the mud guard on one side was not put on properly. I went home on Saturday and when I turned off the highway, it fell off because it was rubbing on the tire. So we called them and the owner was not available because he was in a car accident. So we called the next day and talked to him about it and we are going to take it back to get it fixed. The paint job was really good and their price is very reasonable.

  • l have gone to Sears Auto Service 3 times. The first time was to purchase battery which was fine.  The second time was for an oil change which was performed a little longer than the estimated time but otherwise reasonable price and service.  During the second visit, the time to check out was a litte slow due to other customers but not too problematic.  My service today was extremely poor.  I had left my car for 4 hours for an oil change, spark plugs, and air filter.  When I returned to pick up my car, there were at least 5 customers in front of me and only 1 person at the 3 desks.  No one was called to assist for at least 15 minutes.  Once I get to the front desk, they cannot locate my paperwork.  It takes another 10-15 minutes to locate paperwork.  Then, the individual helping indicates he cannot figure out the invoice completed by the manager.  After approximately 10 minutes I go outside and locate the manager to assist.   After more delays to locate and figure out the paperwork, they finally figure it out so I can pay and leave.  It should not take 45 minutes to pay for services for my car with "help" from 2-3 people including a manager.  For the delays and their error, they offered no minimal credit off the bill or anything beyond one of the managers commenting about their problems hiring new employees which does not exactly fill me with confidence on the work product.  As indicated the first 2 visits were fine but I do not recommend their services particularly on a Saturday unless you have time to kill.  I will be going to another service provider with positive ratings on Angie's list in the future.

  • I have been taking my Volvos to Varktkes since 1989. The shop is so clean you could eat off the floor. As the name implies they only service Volvos. They are honest when I need service I just drop off my car tell Vartkes (the owner) to look over the car and make any repairs that are needed. I have never been taken advantage of. Vartkes tries to save you money and does not do repairs that are not needed.

  • It went great from initial call to picking the car up. Very busy shop but had the time to give personal attention and answer my questions. The "Intake" process when I dropped the car off was fast (don't you hate it when they pull out the keyboard and start pecking in your name "J- O- H- N-" long pause "Uh, spell it again?"...) Called me with the estimate as promised. Did the work on time, as promised. Called when the car was done, as promised. Made arrangements for me to pick up car afterhours. Simple. I rated B for the price only because it seemed a little high to me, though I did not shop around so I could have gotten a great deal too. Even if it was high, it was not by much and the service was worth it.

  • I use him regularly. He is very reasonably priced and he is Honda and ASE certified. He is very knowledgeable and honest. He does have very firm hours so be sure to be there on time for pick up or delivery.

  • We have had multiple Toyota's serviced by Fuji over the years. In one instance, they fixed a bad starter on our Corolla by replacing the brushes, saving us $400 over the cost of a new starter at the dealer. We will virtually always take our cars here for any significant repairs. The work is done well and the savings over the dealer is substantial.
