    Swift Appliance Repair
    Our dishwasher was running its dry cycle too long. Our home warranty company assigned Swift Appliance Repair to the job. During the first appointment, the service person said that a part had shorted out, and that a new part would have to be ordered. We waited a week. At the second appointment, the service person again said a part had shorted out, and that a new part would have to be ordered. He left again, with no time frame for his return. Except this time he disabled the dishwasher completely, making the unilateral determination that we could not use it without the shorted part (it's still unclear whether he means it's impossible to use or would be a potential fire hazard). He drew this conclusion despite the fact the dishwasher was working before he arrived, and despite the fact that he he had already examined the dishwasher once before, and did not at that time see fit to disable it. I hired a new company this morning to do the job so I will not be out a dishwasher for the foreseeable future. After that, I called Swift Appliance to cancel the job and ask that the service person come back and just put the dishwasher back as it was. Total refusal. Not possible. Now the story was that a ribbon broke and the dishwasher was ALREADY broken when he got there. It's always a little risky to use your home warranty. The companies that get their business this way are often, well...there's a reason they aren't getting business other ways. BUT, I admittedly did not anticipate that they would make things worse. Or, I guess I had the option of waiting indefinitely without the use of a dishwasher, and then they might replace parts and fix everything? No thanks. In any case, disabling my dishwasher (and then refusing to correct it) is not their call to make. That service person isn't the fire marshal, nor is the dishwasher his. I highly recommend steering clear of this company.

    Jim responded very quickly and assessed the problem, which was likely a pretty extensive repair. He didn't have the part readily available, and it was unclear whether the replacement of the single part would be worth the cost. Based on Jim's feedback, we actually ended up contacting the manufacturer and purchasing the extended warranty on the washer to cover the repair. This ended up being well worth it, and Jim's candor and feedback were very helpful!

    this company is a scam. The "professional" that came to our house for the $39 diagnostic call was completely useless. The suggested parts to fix the refrigerator did not fix issue. Most be all fake reviews from friends and family because this company is just a scam

    Originally called and scheduled a visit which was handled as expected:  The online representative scheduled a visit with an estimated time frame, we got an email the night before confirming the appointment, and the tech called the next morning with a definite time and showed up on time.  He diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts, and scheduled a follow up visit 2 weeks later. 
    The parts arrived within 3 days.
    This is how it is supposed to work.
    I took the day off work for the follow up appointment. As instructed I cleaned out the refrig the night before and stored the food on ice.  I did get an email the night before confirming the appointment at 8am to noon. However, I did not get a call from the tech.  I called at 10:30 to ask why I had not been called and was told that that my appointment was confirmed and the tech will call by noon .  At 12:30 I called again and was told that no tech had been assigned.  I asked to talk to a supervisor who reviewed the case and said that the tech called in sick.  She could not explain why I had not been informed of this.  I sent an email to "the home office" and was told the same thing with no explanation for the lack of communication.  I was rescheduled for 2 weeks later.
    For this third appointment I did not get an email confirmation.  I called the night before was was told that my appointment was confirmed for 8-12 and that I could call at 7am to talk to the tech for a definite time. I called at 7:30am and was told that the tech would call but he did not. I called about every hour thereafter and each time I was told the same thing -- my appointment was confirmed, the tech will call, but never did.  On one call the expected time was changed to 10:30  to 12:30.  The tech eventually arrived at 12:45 and right after parking in front of my house he then called.
    The work then proceeded well and the complicated refrig repair was completed satisfactorily.
    I then found out from the tech that I was his second job of the day and that he was scheduled for two more visits that day for compressor replacements.  This seems to me to be over booking.
    So the actual repair was satisfactory but the scheduling was horrible.
    I will not use Sears again.

    The service man was very nice. However, if the service men that had come out prior regarding my oven had a accessed my oven more thoroughly they would have caught that the oven didn't close properly and the other problem would have never occurred. Needless to say I will not be using them to repair my oven. I am trying a new company that I found on Angie's list....let's see how that goes.

    They were great.  Came out within a day or two.  Correctly diagnosed the issue on the first attempt.  Had to wait for a part to be ordered.  Returned within the few days that he promised.  No extra costs.  Clean and friendly and really knew his business.  Loved 'em.

    I have three different names for this company (one of the website, a different one of the invoice, and yet another one of the business card), but the phone number I called is the same as the one listed for this business, so I'll assume they're the same for purposes of this review.  

    Our problem was a bad valve causing the icemaker in our freezer to overflow and create a winter wonderland of ice throughout the freezer.

    The technician arrived during the scheduled timeframe, diagnosed the problem, quoted a price, and promised he'd have the freezer working great within 30 minutes. 

    When he plugged the unit back in, an awful sound filled the room.  He decided the ventilation fan had been chipped while he was removing the ice and proceeded to completely take apart the freezer spreading screws, bits and pieces everywhere.  He didn't have the replacement fan with him, but his warehouse confirmed they had the correct part in stock. Great!  Now we'll get our freezer repair completed? 

    No. He wanted us to drive the hour to the warehouse and replace the fan ourselves.  No.  You broke it (he still denies this), you fix it.  I agreed to pay the additional fee to replace the part he broke, but then he tells us he might be able to come back to finish the job tomorrow (Saturday), or maybe Sunday, but probably not till Monday.

    Our freezer (and now-spoiling food in the refrigerator) is in pieces and completely dead.  When our technician arrived, our icemaker didn't work, but our food was cold and safe.  Really?  The technician is willing to leave a job worse off than when he arrived?

    Our technician insisted on payment for the portion of the job he had completed (the initial valve replacement) and gave a vague promise to return ?sometime soon? to put our appliance back together.  Somehow I fell for this.  I'm embarrassed.

    Once I came to my senses (after a phone call with my husband), I stopped payment on the check, contacted a supervisor, and?surprise!--our technician returned within few hours that same evening and fixed the freezer in a jiffy.    The entire sage took up 6 hours of my day.  We think the freezer is now working (we'll know by the morning), the company has $408.12 of our money, and we?re still annoyed.

    Jim came put to check our gas oven, which wasn't lighting. I got the appt the next day, and he was even a couple minutes early! He diagnosed the problem quickly and had the ignitor bar replaced very fast. The part was pretty expensive, but worth fixing rather than replacing. Overall, Jim was very professional, and we were very happy with the service.
