Remodeling Kitchen And Bath reviews in Seal Beach

  • Horizon Construction and Remodeling designed and built us a beautiful open kitchen and expanded common room area. They opened and re-supported walls to give us the home of our dreams. WE LOVE THIS NEW SPACE!!! Our whole family can now enjoy being together in a gorgeous, modern, easy-to-work-in kitchen and family room. The materials and look are just what we imagined, helped by Mark Bezos’ excellent sense of design and leadership in advising the beautiful and functional in our budget. Another essential strength of Horizon’s business model is the detailed contract: each stage of the plan was clear, referenced in every new stage. We never paid for any work until that portion of the project was completed to our satisfaction. Mark ensured that we were pleased with every part of every job. Only after complete customer approval did Horizon ask for payment of that portion of the remodel. This integrity and attention to the contract provided peace of mind for my husband and me, knowing that Horizon--Mark and Enna and other team members--have solid integrity and a proven commitment to customer service. The communications were always clear and easy through the office run by Enna Eskins, with quick response times and continuous accessibility. The same is true of Mark. He responded to every text and call within minutes. We felt the honesty of the Horizon Team throughout the whole process.

  • If he’s not in your service, he should be.  Vern Heath is somebody I’ve used over the years, just really consistently good.  He is so reasonable that sometimes I wonder why he is so reasonable.  I’ve found his work to be absolutely exemplary.  He assisted me in doing a total remodel for my kitchen,  that was, again, I’m going to call it 10 years ago, where he and I worked together.  He was the primary contractor; I just helped.  I actually moved/destroyed a portion of the old kitchen while he built up the new.  He managed to find time around the holidays and to get it done quickly.   We tore it all the way down to the floor joist and studs.  He brought in and managed a couple of electrical contractors.  His specialty is building and drywall and he did all of that.  He assisted in putting in the cabinets for me as well.  I had it estimated and the estimates were two to three times more.  He did it on his vacation too.  As a matter of fact, I just called him to tell him that I moved and I needed to get his opinion on a couple of things in my new location.  I haven't reached him yet.  I left a message for him.  He was actually recommended to me by somebody else on the block.  That's how I found him.  So you know, he was building reputation.  It wasn't only contracting work.  If I have repairs to do, occasionally something comes up, he will come out.  So, he's much more than a handyman, but he can do everything and he's a licensed contractor as well.

  • David provided good suggestions to refine my detailed design: I was aiming to maximize storage space, but by making the cabinets a little shallower, and the counter a little lower, they enhance the living area rather than impose on it. David matched the cabinet materials (solid maple, with maple veneer interior), style, and dark finish perfectly to the existing cabinets in the adjacent open kitchen. The craftsmanship is excellent - every detail exactly to specification. The fit and installation in this triangular-shaped space would challenge some cabinet makers, but it came out perfectly. David is skilled, experienced, professional, prompt, reasonably priced and easy to work with.

  • We are very pleased with our renovation, which consisted of converting our laundry area into a 1/2 bath, creating a new laundry area and adding custom cabinetry for storage. The end product is just as we imagined it. Pier is very meticulous and the quality of his work is excellent. We enjoyed working with Greg as well. We will certainly hire him again for our next project.

  • Pier does everything which makes for a quality job. Our remodel uncovered some issues with the plumbing and electrical so instead of ignoring or working around them, he fixed everything and brought them up to code. He also fixed another contractor's shoddy job in another bathroom. He and Greg worked hard and long hours to get the job done, and as others have stated, Pier is a perfectionist and and it shows in the work that he does.

  • Pier is a true craftsman. ? He truly cares about the work he does and pays attention to every detail. ?Pier and his assistant Greg do most of the work themselves (plumbing, electrical, tile, etc.). ?This is important because it means it will be done right. ? ?He also has a great eye for design and happily offered suggestions to improve the bathroom's design without hurting the bottom line.

  • Chris is an exemplary contractor, especially after some we've had over many years of home improvement jobs.  Chris was responsive, punctual, knowledgeable, and meticulous.  He was here every day until the work was completed to our great satisfaction, despite some difficult issues he faced with this job.

We WILL use his services again for any home improvement project he would tackle, and we can heartily recommend his services to anyone needing a home improvement contractor.  His pricing was very fair and, considering the superior quality of his work, we were very satisfied on that front too.  Chris also seems to be very conscientious about not over-committing on jobs so no job suffers from his being stretched too thin.

  • I contacted Scott after our previous contractor could not finish our kitchen remodel. Scott was very attentive to our needs, was on time with everything and most importantly did an excellent job. Our kitchen turned out amazing! We have an old house where some of the walls are not perfectly straight, Scott and his crew were able to work around this and shim everything out soo it looked perfect! We plan to use Scott for our next project as well!!

  • Chris Yant, licensed electrical contractor and owner of Pelican Electric, came to my home on Feb. 4 to review the scope of the work:  remove 3 fluorescent fixtures in the kitchen and install 4 recessed can lights, remove a ceiling fan in the dining room and replace with a recessed can light, remove 2 large hanging chandeliers and install recessed can lights in their place, removed 2 hall ceiling lights and install recessed can lights, remove bathroom track light and install recessed can light, and remove vanity light fixtures in 2 bathrooms and replace with new vanity light fixtures.    I then received an email from Mr. Yant detailing the work along with an estimate of the cost.  The estimate was for $1076 which included 12 hours of labor (spread over 2 days)  and $416 for materials for the can light fixtures and related miscellaneous electrical supplies.  (I supplied the 2 new vanity light fixtures.)  Mr. Yant was available to do the work the following week, however, my home would not be available until Feb. 23, so, the work was scheduled for Feb. 23 and 24.  Mr. Yant arrived on time both days and before beginning the work he put protective plastic and drop cloths over the surfaces to prevent damage to my home.  He promptly got to work and was efficient and meticulous and after each area was complete he asked me to review and approve the removal/installation before proceeding to the next area.  The final cost was $10 more than the original estimate because of additional materials for additional work which was that he also repaired and replaced the baffle on an existing crooked recessed can light over the kitchen sink.  The work was excellent and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

  • We have used Pier many times in the past for projects big and small, so we didn't even consider anybody else for this job. He was involved all the way from the planning stages where he gave us a great source for tile for the bathroom (Tile Matters) and even helped us lay out the pattern for the tile and the countertops. We had very specific ideas about the type of Kohler fixtures that we wanted and he  was quick to find them and get them installed exactly as we wanted. He and his assistant Greg did all the work themselves and as usual it was precise, meticulous, and of the highest quality. The job took about three weeks to complete, and the results are truly spectacular! We feel as if we have been transported to another world when we go into the bathroom to take a shower or get dressed in the morning. Thanks Pier for another fantastic job.
