    Lerman Appliances was very professional and courteous from the first call until the job was done. I called multiple places and had a couple people come out. Lerman was by far the best. The repairman was on time, knew exactly what to do, and quickly finished the job. He explained everything very simply. I will definitely call them first with any appliance repairs in the future.

    Active Appliance was hired by First American Home Warranty to look at a stove in my rental in Santa Clarita. First American denied the claim due to missing parts. Immediately after denying the claim, Active Appliances was quick to give a $600 to $700 estimate to repair the stove outside of First American. I found this quite suspicious. I repaired the stove myself for only $120 in parts and 20 minutes of personal labor. At this point, I firmly believe that Active Appliances removed the parts during their first visit knowing First American would deny the claim and create the situation where I might pay Active Appliances high cash repair price. As you know this is fraud and as a consumer I don't take it lightly. I am seeking a written apology from Active Appliances admitting to the part removal so that I can seek reimbursement for my $120 in repair costs from First American. I am seeking a letter of apology from Active Appliances admitting to the part removal OR reimbursement of my $120 in costs.

    This was my second time using Lerman Appliances for repair work on my appliances. First time was for a leaking washing machine and this time for a refrigerator that wouldn't maintain a constant temperature. Very knowledgeable team.     Straight forward service from start to finish.  I selected American West based on Angie's List reviews.  I called and was able to make an appointment the next day in the time frame I had available.  Vladimir, the repairman, arrived 1 hour before the time frame agreed upon.  He was both polite and professional.  I showed him to the appliance and he got to work right away.  Vladimir was able to identify what needed to be repaired, informed us of same, and showed us the broken part.  Fortunately, he had the replacement part with him.  We were able to get back to washing clothes right away.  I would definitely use this company again and will recommend them to friends.

    When calling the office I was met with a very rude voice.  Didn't want to know anything about the problem and seemed irritated with her job.  However, the technician was worth the rudeness on the phone.  He was very pleasant and great work.  We booked the appointment even thought the office was rude because we heard such great things about Angies List but really they need to have a talk with the people who answer the phone.  They have great technicians that could lose jobs because of her.

    The pricing was reasonable but we had a dispute with them.  They had to get a part and we had to wait a couple days; that wasn’t a problem.  They got the part and then their technician installed it.  My wife hadn’t been able to do a wash in several days because the washing machine had been on the blink.  She used the washing machine the day it got fixed and it flooded our two bedrooms.  When I got home that night, when I went into a spare bedroom, I was walking on water. I stayed up until 1:00 with the shop vac, vacuuming up the water that was in the two bedrooms.  I called and left them a message and they immediately had their technician come out the next morning.  He came and fixed the problem and after that we were able to use the machine without a problem.  I’m thankful for that.  When I called to complain about what happened and to tell them I felt they were responsible, they said they would notify their insurance company.  In the meantime I didn’t want mold in my two bedrooms.  Even though I vacuumed all the water out of it, the carpet was still soaked.  I cut half of the carpet in one bedroom and a third of the carpet in the other bedroom and I pulled the carpet to the outside to let it dry.  I asked that they help me with the cost of replacing the carpet.  They said they would put in a claim to the insurance company.  The insurance company sent out an adjuster to take photos and we felt that we were going to be reimbursed for replacing the carpet.  When I called to follow up because I hadn’t heard anything from the insurance company, they told me that they weren’t going to pay the claim because the repairman told them it wasn’t his fault and the flood was caused because we must have had a towel in the basin and it blocked the drain.  We had no such towel and we didn’t have a blocked drain; the drain worked perfectly fine.  The insurance company used that as a reason not to pay the claim.  The repairman didn’t want to take responsibility and he claimed there was nothing he did wrong.  That’s not the way I see it.  We have never had a flood caused by the washing machine except that night my wife used the washing machine after the technician fixed it.  We have lived in that house for 23 years and we hadn’t had any similar flood. Now, by coincidence, our drain stopped up the night after the repairman fixed the washing machine.  I’m left with having to replace the carpeting out of my own funds.  I’m not sure what he did wrong the first time but he denies there was any problem at all.  I’m sure he thought he fixed it correctly but why did I have a flood?  He fixed it correctly the second time.  I know the water came from the washing machine and not the drain because our washing machine is on a pedestal to elevate the height.  That drawer was full of rags and things we use to clean the house.  All those rags underneath were soaked.  The water had to come from above and it had nothing to do with the drain pipe or the drain in the wash basin.  I know it wasn’t my drain because it’s separate from the drawer under the washing machine.  I’m not happy and I will never use them again.

    NOT VERY HAPPY WITH BEST BUY'S SERVICE. IT HAS TAKEN THREE VISITS FROM THIS REPAIRMAN TO HOPEFULLY FIX THE PROBLEM. WE WERE TOLD BY HIM THAT THE MECHANISM KEEPS FREEZING OVER AND IN ORDER TO 'FIX' IT WE WOULD NEED TO SQUIRT WARM WATER ON IT TO UNFREEZE IT. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR A FRIDGE THAT IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. BEST BUY HAS OFFERED TO HAVE HIM COME AGAIN IF THE PROBLEM CONTINUES (WHICH AT THIS TIME, IT HASN'T RE-OCCURRED) AND THEY ALSO SAID WE MAY HAVE TO GO THROUGH A PROCESS TO HAVE THE FRIDGE REPLACED.
