    We originally met Sy at an open house he was selling and wanted him to represent us as a buyer in the same deal. We were not able to get the place as it went way over asking. But Sy hung in there with us over the years (yes years!) and helped us made several more offers along the way until we finally got our current house! But the relationship continues as he now helps to manage our townhome. He is down to earth, easy going, and generally a nice person to have on your side when you make one of the biggest purchases in your life. We love working with Sy!

    So this is why you want to hire Sy Moody, and why you will count yourself lucky if you do. I���ve bought and sold a few homes, and my experience with realtors has been, to be generous, unpleasant. I tend to think of them as needy children with flashier cars. This time, I was selling a townhouse condo in Santa Monica. I interviewed a couple realtors from big national companies, and they made very professional presentations, with the right kind of comparables, etc. Either one would probably have done a good job, but neither left me particularly impressed. Then Sy came along, and he had more hustle than the other two combined. Not only did he know the area well, and send me regular comp updates, but he had a solid plan for selling my townhouse. He recommended shopping it to developers who could flip and resell it. Since it needed work, and I was not eager to put in the time or money to do it, this suited my needs perfectly. Sy worked his butt off for me, regularly going above and beyond the call of duty. With other realtors, I have always negotiated the 6% commission, but in this case I knew that Sy would earn that, and more. Pretty quickly, Sy got me a better-than-I���d-hoped-for price from an all-cash, no-contingency buyer who could close very quickly. I could not possibly have asked for more, but I got more, because I had the pleasure of working with Sy. He is one of the nicest, most positive, most charming people that I have ever met. So hire him. I certainly will if I ever need to buy or sell another property. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

    Hugh and One Percent Broker were invaluable in helping us sell my Mother-In-Law's house (and then buy our new one - more on that later). With a smile and great, GREAT patience (first-time home-sellers here), he helped us every step of the way, walking us through the process, holding our hands when necessary (which was a LOT), keeping things moving, making sure all our bases were covered (and, man there are a LOT of bases in home selling/buying), helping us find the right people, and gifting us with his years of experience and knowledge. We ended up selling her house for more than we thought it was worth and over asking solely because of his experience and skill as a negotiator. He was so great that we used him again when we purchased our new home. Again, he walked with us, kept us calm and level-headed, helped us find the right inspectors (SO worth the time and expense), and nailed the negotiations, getting us the house we wanted for under asking, and credits on top - even though that hurt his bottom line. He never once complained about our incessant questions, nerves or neuroses - just gave us everything he had. Simply brilliant - I cannot recommend him highly enough.

    We worked directly with Hugh, who was the consummate professional every step of the way. The 1% model worked great for us, as we knew the area where we wanted to buy, found the houses we were interested in, and Hugh took over from there. He demonstrated excellent knowledge of the real estate market and gave us sound advice in making offers, moving through contingencies, including the home inspection process. In the end, we successfully closed escrow and have a great home - and extra money in the bank!

    Nice, small, intimate boutique hotel with only about 10 units or so. Robert was very cool and personable, will engage in small chat as you eat in the provided little dining area with continental breakfast. Great for if you want a quieter experience compared to much larger chain hotels. Walking distance to Universal Studios. A couple bars and other restaurants right across the street from it as well not as congested as other areas.

She helped us get the unit ready for sale, overseeing the workers and managing the project. She took the initiative to talk to the neighbors and leave personal cards at their door which landed us 4 offers before the property hit the market. Ivy was always available to answer questions, listen to our concerns and provide excellent advice. We were incredibly satisfied with her performance and professionalism.     The Bizzy Blondes
    My wife and I went in to the Bizzy Blondes because were trying to buy a house, and one we were interested in on an online real estate site was listed through them. We set up an appointment to meet with an agent. We met in the evening and the agent presented us with a "Welcome to the Bizzy Blondes" info packet which shows pictures of happy people buying homes. After drinking the punch for 30 minutes he gave us a bunch of listings and we made plans to see an open house. Business as usual so far.
    We go to the open house, make an offer, but the offer is turned down because someone offered $100,000 over asking price. Still not a big deal, you can't buy them all. I call the agent the next day to set up some more open houses with some listings he gave us, as well as some we found. I get no reply. Multiple phone calls and emails are sent out to this guy to no avail. Alright, we say, this guy is upset that we didn't make a counter offer and he's done with us. We move on, find another realtor, and end up making an offer on another house.
    The day our offer is accepted on the house I now own, the phone rings and it's the agent from Bizzy Blondes.
    He leaves a message:
    "Hi it's Blahblah from Bizzy Blondes, sorry I've been out of touch for a few weeks but there just hasn't been anything out there that I think would have been the right fit for your guys. Call me back"
    My wife and I have a good sense of humor and figure he must have a pretty serious story about why he has been AWOL for 5 weeks so we decide to email him in order to maintain our composure.
    An email exchage occurs:
    We Say:
    "Blahblah, You do realize that we reached out to you a number of times to set up open houses and you never called us back? We've been to at least 15 open houses and made 2 offers since you stopped calling us. We're in Escrow as we speak!"
    He Says:
    "I'm so sorry, honestly my dad has been sick and that's why I've been off the radar."
    We end the conversation by emphasizing to him that we'd found another realtor.
    Now, I don't know what the truth is here. Did his father get sick? If that's true then I feel really bad for him, but still I would have appreciated a call/email/text. At the very least hand us off to someone within your company, take a small commission. If he's lying then that is cause for concern on multiple levels.  He wasn't a bad or malicious person but regardless of the truth he was unprofessional either way to say the least.
