    I used to go to Crest Office Furniture when Taylor Hurst with Taylor Hurst as my salesperson - and he was great at helping me set up my office furniture. He left late this summer, so another salesman stepped in for my next project. Talk about a disaster: no follow-through, inaccurate information, upping an existing quote when none of the specs changed, long delays not only in performing but just in getting information and returning calls; reliance on email and never getting it "right" withoutt even thinking to call; and to top it all off, an owner who upon hearing what was going wrong just blew off the feedback entirely. But all is not lost: Taylor Hurst moved to MIchael E. Powers and Associates - which carries virtually all the same lines of office furniture AND as Taylor is showing me, can customize furniture and orders in ways that Crest either never could or never would bother to try. Powers now has my business - and I would recommend to Crest customers and to those looking for a great office furniture resource that you look to MIchael E. Powers - and Taylor - for great service and great results.

    He's very familiar with taking the machines apart, seems to know the printer like the back of the hand. He takes the machine apart very quickly, find the problem. What take the longest is to get the part for the replacement or repair. He does more than is what necessary. He arrives when he says he is going be there. The job is done well and the price is very reasonable. Very professional.

    Since I was unsure about the exact part I needed, I sent some photos.  My e-mail was answered very quickly and I ended up speaking to "Rob" on the phone. Rob told me that the part I needed was from an old model chair and was no longer available. However, he would do a search of his "bone yard" of old parts to see if he could locate what I needed. Rob contacted me within a very short time to tell me that he had found the part and proceeded to mail it to me FREE OF CHARGE. He told me, "I like to keep those old chairs out of the landfill".

    He arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it in less than an hour. The hourly rate is $125-150.. I don't remember it exactly. I had another problem with the printer and he returned at no charge. Unfortunately we were not able to reproduce the problem, so he couldn't fix it. But I was not charged for the second visit.

    This was the only place I found that actually comes to your office or home to perform the repair. The other places I called required that I take the printer into their repair center. The printer weighs 150 lbs, so this is not an easy task. I was thrilled to find a place that would work on-site. And they scheduled the appointment for the same day, which was excellent. Technician worked quickly and efficiently. The only negative was that he placed the drum unit (with the toner cartridges still in) on the carpet, with no paper or plastic underneath. This was high pile shag carpet, so there was plenty of messy contact with the carpet. I had to clean the toner out of the carpet after he left (I didn't notice until after he left). This is why I gave a slightly lower grade for professionalism. When working in someone else's office or home, people should be considerate and not make/leave any mess. The toner left a small stain in spite of my efforts, but fortunately it's not noticeable. Everything else was great, so I'd work with them again.

    Examined my computer; but the problem was intermittent & did not occur when he was here.  About 3 hrs later, when the problem returned, I did not touch anything and called Lonnie again.  He came out a second time.  After alot of work he determined that it was not a problem with the printer; but with my computer's software, which he tried to fix but that is not his expertise.  This information could not have been determined if he had not been willing to come to my office. But he cleaned the printer and solved a problem with my fax/scanner.  He charged me a little more than for one visit and much less than for two visits.

    I have a Canon ImageClass MF4350d all-in-one printer which works perfectly well - except when printing certain labels.  I had a repairman out to check the unit and was told that I needed to replace the fuser unit (to resolve the label issue) and it was suggested that I also replace two rollers while he was there as they appeared to be wearing out. When I informed my computer guy of the quote - he felt it was ridiculously high and suggested I call around for a second opinion. I found Business Machines Center on Angie's List and gave a call.  Ray could not have been more kind, patient and helpful as we discussed the pros and cons of repairing vs. replacing the unit, and how to best price the replacement parts as a maintenance kit to manage costs. While I am not yet sure I will have the work done, I truly appreciated Ray's knowledge, time, assistance and patience and will call him again for future needs.

    I worried about finding an honest and competent repair person for my Brother HL5140 laser printer after I was unable to remove a thin narrow sheet of paper caught around the fuser unit despite all the usual tricks, watching internet videos about taking apart the fuser unit etc.   Some repair folks that I called suggested that they would help me buy a replacement laser printer "at a good price and help me set it up [no thanks!]," or that for $100 they would check out the machine.   Then I was referred to George at A.F. Office Machines through a computer repairplace.  He was very reasonable ($25 to examine the machine, and an additional $50 to complete the repair), fast (machine ready the next day), and very professional (returned the jammed sheet of paper to me).   I hope that my printer, photocopier etc.  don't break , but if they do, I am very happy to have found this gem of a store and repair person (George)!  I strongly recommend George to others in need of printer or copier repair services.
