    KN Remodeling & Supplies Inc
We just finished a four bedroom/ three bathroom full remodel in Santa Monica. We are very happy with the end result. Nathan, who is the owner, was very involved in all phases of the job. Nathan got the job done on time. The workmanship and attention to detail was great. He had good communication and relationship with his team. Whenever we had a concern or question, Nathan was easy to get a hold of and handled it quickly. We were worried about the process of a remodel with all the stories you hear about bad experiences. But Nathan made this so easy on us and we would definitely use him for any future projects.

The only question you have to ask after working with a contractor is, "would you work with them again?" The answer for Eli and Donna is an unequivocal and enthusiastic yes! My wife and I recently did a complete remodel of our kitchen. Gutted it down to the studs, moved windows and doors, custom cabinets, new appliancesthe whole deal. We had a good idea of what we wanted, but there were still things to be worked out. Eli and Donna helped us every step of the way. Eli is diligent about keeping projects on schedule. He wants to get your project completed as much as you do and is great about playing task master with his crew and subs. He even helped keep us on schedule with key decisions along the way. Eli will offer his perspective and experience on all aspects of the job. You might not always agree with him, but is opinion is valuable and allows you to make smart choices. And he always defers to the homeowners wishes in the end. No large contracting job is without hiccups and ours was no exception. This is where Eli really shined. When things dont go as expected or if there is some miscommunication, Eli makes sure you are happy in the end. He works things out with his subs and suppliers to make things right, even redoing parts of a job if necessary. Were thrilled with our kitchen. Its our favorite room in the house and were ready to do a couple more projects with Quality First in the near future.

Not well. Sonny is very personable, but the some of person responsible for doing the work are irresponsible, unskilled and unprofessional. I first called Sonny to replace my kitchen floor but the men who showed up to do the job, refused to do it because they did not want to move the appliances. I hired another company to do the job. When it came time to patch my hardwood floor from where a floor furnace had been, I gave them another chance. As usual, Sonny was very polite and professional. The day of the repair some men showed up and put in the new wood which I supplied. The next step was to get it sanded and finished. I made the mistake of having paid for the job on the first day. Then for each of the next 3 days someone was to come out and finish the job. I waited each of the days no one showed and no one called. I repeated called Sonny, but no one answered and I could not leave a message because the machine was always full of messages. Finally, I called every 15 minutes for 2 or 3 hours and got a call back. A schedule was made to finish it. The man who came did not just sand the new wood, but arched out into the old wood in a vary disorganized way. I asked if he was going to come back and he said he wasn't scheduled to. I then made repeated calls to Sonny explaining the condition of the floor and he agreed to have the man come out and fix it today. So far I have waited 5 hours and no one has showed and Sonny is not returning my calls (I've made about 6). I will need to hire someone else to fix the floor.

    Eberia Construction Co
The Eberia team was nice to work with, and the work was ultimately completed pretty close to the original schedule. Some delays occurred, but they were often related to change orders or the city inspector. The team was generally very responsive, and I would work with them again.

    Quality First Builders Inc
Quality First Builders did a full remodel of our 2-bed, 2-bath condo in Santa Monica. The result is spectacular, and very well suited to our needs. Eli provided a detailed quote, with lots of specific information broken out. It was very clear what was included and what was not. Eli and Donna were both able to provide expert advice and guidance. During the quote process, Eli identified some problems that others did not, which is one of the reasons we chose to go with Quality First. There was an attention to detail that was reassuring. The project encountered some significant challenges, including the discovery of some questionable electrics and plumbing as a result of the previous owner. These added to the cost and the duration of the project, but I do not blame Quality First Builders for that -- I do not think these issues could have been foreseen until demolition was complete. Eli and his team took deadlines seriously, and although the original deadlines needed to be revised to account for these additional surprises, the work was completed ahead of the revised deadlines, which we really appreciated. The project included: - Full kitchen remodel - Extension of cabinets and counter tops through dining room - Full remodel of two bathrooms - Custom floating shelves and mantle - New doors throughout - Paint and flooring throughout - Installation of recess lights and light fixtures throughout - Tiling a large patio area, and replacing trellising So it was a large and complex project, and the result was of a high quality. Time and money both ran over, but seemed to be within reason, given the surprises left by the previous owner. There seemed to be a genuine sense of urgency and of efficiency throughout the process. The reason I cannot quite give a 5-star review is that the process was an extremely stressful one for us. To be fair to Eli and his team, the main points of stress were where third parties were involved. Anything that was completely within Eli's control was handled smoothly and well. His team does not do everything, however, and so we had to work with some other companies to fix the air-conditioning, replace the fireplace, hook up cable and internet, install closets, and replace the tile drop-ceiling in the hallway. We also had to interact with a very frustrating and unpredictable inspector. There were a lot of challenges where these different groups intersected, and where it wasn't clear who was responsible for what. We had to be more directly involved than I would have liked, and the communication was often stressful and at times became heated. My recommendation to others would be to handle as much of this sort of work as possible either before of after the main work is done. There is a clause in the contract about not working with third parties, for good reason, and in our case it turned out to be unavoidable (e.g. we discovered the AC work we had done prior was not properly permitted so the inspector would not sign off on anything else, the fireplace had to be installed before the tiling around it could be complete, etc). Eli was flexible in allowing this, and I appreciate that we got to a great result in the end, but the journey was bumpy at times. Both Eli and Donna injected creativity and problem solving. For example, the way the master bathroom was previously laid out was not up to code, and the inspector drastically limited our options, and caused Eli's team to have to do unnecessary re-work, which was frustrating. We were able to make the best of a bad situation, and the result is good looking and functional, even though our original plan was not allowed. The look and layout of our kitchen and dining area were more within our collective control, and together we achieved a really distinctive and appealing design, thanks to Eli and Donna's input. Thank you to Eli and Donna for working with us through all these challenges and getting to a great result.

    Be Green Builders Inc.
We definitely had the opportunity to hire and work with Be Green Builders for few years now and we have hired them for several remodeling projects on our investment houses. Nir and his teams of people are super professional, skilled in their own trades and very focused about the high quality of each and every task of their projects. We strongly recommend them to anyone who is interesting in any type of remodeling project.

    Butel Construction Inc
It went very well! How many homeowners can say that about their remodeling experience? Shai was wonderful. At its inception, Shai had a better vision on how we could obtain a large, open space (without expanding our homes footprint) than any architect or designer we had worked with. He was also mindful of costs and worked with us to stay within a reasonable budget. As far as cost is concerned, there were no surprises. We began with a contract containing a detailed payment schedule. The nice thing about Butel Constructions billing is that it reflects exactly what was on the contract. It really helped build trust. We made changes along the way but before the change was made, it was always preceded with a work order so we knew what to expect. And there were smaller changes that Shai was kind enough to absorb. He is not all about making money...he is more about integrity and kindness. Of course there were bumps along the way. It is to be expected with a project as large as ours in such an old home. So heres another great thing about Shai...when we encountered a problem, Shai kept communication open and was very responsive. We were able to navigate issues due to his creativity and positive attitude. He never blamed or made excuses. He simply found a way to fix it. Because Shai is busy, he has a project manager, Miguel. Miguel was also extremely responsive and very knowledgeable. I gained such confidence in Miguel after watching him repeatedly make things happen that some said could not be done. It was obvious that Miguel and Shai work together and share communications at all times. Shai also has a framing supervisor Joel. Joel was aware of my objective - to open walls and windows as much as possible. Upon the commence of demolition, Joel took a look at the staircase and felt there might be a way to open the staircase. Shai agreed. I was thrilled because two architects and an engineer told me it could not be done. Shai went to engineering and now we have a lovely staircase as you see in photos. Perhaps the greatest testament to Butel Construction is my husband Skips experience. Skip was not comfortable with construction and was reluctant to remodel. He was very happy to live in the 1929 house as it was. I, on the other hand, I pushed for a change even though I knew construction can be tough on a marriage. When we met Shai, Skip opened up to the project. However, Skip wanted little to do with the construction. Despite the high stakes, I gave Shai the go ahead. WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID! We moved back into the house seven months ago and if we do find something that needs fixing or changing Shai is there. Last night Skip walked into the kitchen and commented, once again, on how impressive the room is. And tonight, we will be entertaining and enjoying homemade pizza from our pizza oven....the pizza oven Shai installed on our new deck. Skip is a happy camper! THANK YOU SHAI AND MIGUEL AND JOSE AND JOEL

    New Age Construction & Remodeling
I needed to reinvent a bathroom that was stuck in 1980 so I naturally called the same contractor I had used three years prior. Ishai Josh Grimberg from New Age Construction & Remodeling is someone who easily understands your vision and is straightforward in presenting options that shape ideas into solutions. The entire bathroom was gutted since the configuration was outdated with the sink actually positioned in the bedroom. We changed the structure so everything youd expect to find inside a bathroom was indeed inside which left room to construct a floor-to-ceiling linen closet adjacent to the bathroom, where the original sink was located. Gio, the cabinet maker did a terrific job building the cabinet using a picture I had torn from a magazine in addition to some details he gleaned from our conversation. The result is stunning. This built-in cabinet looks like it was always meant to be in the space and was crafted well beyond my expectations. The bathroom is striking as well; especially the tilework which is really the focal point of the room. I selected very light, almost white large tiles for inside the shower and surrounding walls. The tile was placed in such a way that it almost looks like a continuous piece without seams. I happened to be at home during part of the tile laying process so I witnessed how meticulous that Raul was with this work. He really did an awesome job. The craftspeople that Ishai works with are obviously talented and experts in their field which is just as important as selecting a contractor. I also had New Age Construction create a new exterior window in my family room. This would seem a rather simple job however the two existing windows I was trying to match were located very close to the ceiling making it difficult to install the correct header to satisfy code. Ishai and team were able to resolve this using some creative engineering ideas. He received clearance from a city inspector before pursuing the concept which gave me assurance this was a solid plan. Id say the best part of working with New Age Construction is that the engagement is a process made up of many steps that all fit together really well in the end. I think sometimes as a homeowner it can be a challenge to remember this during the renovation but Ishai Josh does a good job reassuring and providing status. I find working with Ishai Josh a good experience as he is flexible, listens well and is trustworthy. I would highly recommend this company.

    California Construction Center
Everything went great. Couldn't be happier working with California Construction Center and with my new kitchen and bathroom. I had granite done by someone else in kitchen and bathroom...and I hated it. The stone looked beautiful in the daylight at the stone yard ...not so much in my small bathroom. It was okay in the kitchen. When interviewing contractors, one told me that the granite in the bathroom wasn't "that bad" and to remodel and decorate around it. Another contractor told me he'd have an estimate of cost for remodeling in a few days. He called a month later. Made an appointment with California Construction Center. EZ showed up on time for our first appointment and always did thereafter. He was personable, professional, and knowledgeable. Like another reviewer said EZ was very easy to work with. He and the other reviews on Angies List are the reason that I went with the company...he impressed me that much. He listened to me regarding the bathroom and how I hated the granite and said that based on what I was saying it might be better to just get rid of the granite rather than remodel and decorate around something that I didn't like ...that rang true for me. He took measurements of the kitchen and bathroom and on our next appointment showed me computer renditions of how things would look... it was very helpful to visualize everything. We never put in a start and finish date in the contract (which I read you are supposed to do) because I had pending eye surgery and didn't know what the outcome of that would be. EZ worked with me and didn't try to pressure me. We decided verbally when the start and finish date would be and EZ was true to his word. He would always get back to me within 24 hours if I had any question or concerns. They used one crew for my entire project. They brought samples to my place and were very helpful in helping me make selections ( which I really appreciated after my granite picking fiasco... I didn't trust myself to pick out anything) Tal was the foreman on the project. He was great. I went nuts over what color "white" paint to paint the walls. Tal brought samples and I got samples and he just painted them on the walls so I could really see what they looked like in my space with the lighting. I had the cabinets in kitchen and bath painted... they look brand new. In the bathroom I got a white quartz countertop to replace the granite ...porcelain marble looking tile on floor and walls , a soaking tub , more modern lighting and more up to date bath fixtures in brushed nickel. I got the same white marble looking porcelain floor in my kitchen. The quality of the workmanship is great. I've heard nightmare stories from neighbors about contractors and their remodeling projects. In my case it has been a great experience and I am very happy .
