    Mario was so kind and did not charge us for the service call but said he could come back to install the hose when we get it. He was very professional and saw the problem right away. I will definitely be calling this company to come back, based on their quick response (even on a Friday evening) and Mario's knowledge and professionalism.

    Sales guy Chuck seemed knowledgeable, but when the installer came he spent over 2 hours trying unsuccessfully to install the unit, cursing in our office and clearly ****** off at what he had been given to work with. Eventually he gave up and left, saying the office would call us to re-schedule. Herein begins the journey. We received no such call from the office and so we called them ourselves to find out what was going on. We were told they needed to order "parts" and they would call to re-schedule. Again, nobody called so we reached out to get more info. After three attempts they are finally supposed to come back to try the install again tomorrow 4/11/17. Will update this review once installation is complete, but thus far on communication and quality of service this company is a C-minus and would not recommend.

    The guy broke off  the ring of the toilet. He broke the stem of a faucet I asked them replace. He wanted to charge me $600. I had to call their boss and ended up getting the job done for $300.  I was without a toilet and a shower for two days. They broke a few things at first but everything was fixed in the end.

    We had an A/C guy come out and tell us it was going to cost $2500 for an expansion valve. James came out here and solved the problem for $175 - no new parts! It was a wiring issue with the thermostat. I'm going to start calling this guy KING JAMES! HE SAVED ME $2,300 and got my business for another project.

    We came to Horizon with a home that was in poor shape and needed not only remodeling, but also major structural repair and updates, such as piping, wiring, A/C and heating, etc.  Horizon was proactive in advising us on design, selection and quality of materials and responsive to all our questions and concerns.  I am not what you'd call an "easy" customer, but Horizon was prompt in resolving the kind of issues that inevitably come up with any project of this scope.  They have also shown that they are willing to follow up on post-project touch-ups, etc; they are determined that we be fully satisfied with the project. 
    We are extremely happy in our "new" home (it IS like new to us,) and will gladly recommend Horizon Construction and Remodeling, in fact, we have already done so.  The project was very expensive, due to the damage and poor maintenance accruing over many years, and Horizon also helped us to find financing.

    They sent someone out for a $99 service call. He said the cause of the problem was that I had dirt and debris underneath the water heater, which would cause it to turn off. He swept underneath the water heater and relit the light. The light continued to go out after that and wouldn't relight. The same error message continued even after the gentleman relit it. Rather than having the gentleman come out and relight it again, I called the manufacturer American Water Heater Company and told them what the error message was and described the problem. They said the gas valve needed to be replaced and that it was under warranty. They sent it out to me and they gave me the name of a qualified service person. After it was installed on 10/17/14, I called R.K. Knight to let them know their employee couldn't read the error message but they were out of town. I asked Lonnie to have them return my call. It has now been about 4 weeks and they still haven't returned my call.

    They're very nice and quick to come out. Their customer service is good, but their technician didn't know how to resolve the problem.

    Update: Mr. Knight contacted me by telephone after this information was posted.  He stated that he never received the message from Lonnie, and that she was no longer working for them.  He apologized for his technician not being able to fix the problem.  He further stated that he has scheduled a class with an American Water Heater representative to retrain his plumbers, including himself.  I did not ask for a refund, but he said that he would be refunding the cost of the service call since the problem was not resolved by his technician.   Shortly thereafter, I was refunded the money.  

    I changed my rating because I believe that Mr. Knight did not receive my message and upon learning of the issue, he responded immediately.  He is taking corrective action by retraining his employees.  I believe that he is an honest man and aims to please the customer by providing quality service.  I would recommend him to my neighbors.

    We needed to have a bathtub re-glazed, an existing tub enclosure removed, new bath/shower fixtures installed, and new tiling put up in an upstairs bathroom.  We had received positive feedback from acquaintances who used this company, and the man who came to give us an estimate was prompt and very nice.  He came on a Thursday morning and promised to email the estimate to us by that afternoon, leaving us a business card. When we hadn't received any estimate by Saturday morning, I called and spoke to a representative who took my information and asked the name of the man who had come to our house. I gave him the name from the business card, and he said that man hadn't worked for Norwalk-La Mirada for about six months but maybe our actual estimator was just using up the old cards.  Then he asked me the real name of the man who had come to do the estimate---I told him I didn't know, I only had the business card to go by, but surely the company must have a record or trip sheet of whom they had sent to my house.  The rep said he couldn't find any estimate or record of the visit to my house, but that he would research it and call me right back that afternoon. We didn't hear from Norwalk-La Mirada again until the following Monday. On that day, a different sales representative called to inquire about our job status but when I gave him the details of our estimate visit he said, "Oh, am I talking to Theresa?"  And when I told him he was NOT talking to Theresa, he said he'd "look into" the status of my estimate and call back.  He never did call back and needless to say, we wouldn't have used Norwalk-La Mirada even if he had.  The contact we had with that company left me with a distinct lack of confidence in their work and business practices.
